It’s an absolute gem! This boutique hotel is truly beautiful — the entire property is stunning. We stayed in a duplex room with a gorgeous view, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. The breakfast was also exceptional — fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented.

I was a bit disappointed to find some mold on the shower walls. For a place that positions itself as a wellness resort, this is definitely something the host address. In my opinion, mold is unacceptable in any type of accommodation, and I truly hope this issue will be taken care of properly.

The staff on site were amazing. The property is exactly as it looks on the website. The breakfast is Next level, and you have to be very hungry to finish all the food they serve. A true experience. The property is well situated in the town, and within close distance to most restaurants. The pool area was amazing, and the rooms very well appointed and spacious.

Could not fault them on anything. Just disappointed that the Spa (as advertised) does not operate on the property any longer, and you have to make a special booking if you want a massage. I'm assuming the therapist comes to the hotel on request.

A lovely small estate in an 1801 property. Must impressed with Swellendam, a lovely old town with some great buildings. De Kloof had some beautiful gardens and the pool area particularly nice. Breakfast served was excellent. Staff all most kind and delighted, and surprised to have my car cleaned. Quite unexpected. Our room was separate from the main house, all named after a different grape. Sauvignon Blanc was our suite. Huge bathroom. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Because we were the only ones there, the ow er kindly upgraded our room. The staff are absolutely amazing and tended to us with every request.

It was very quiet. Not their fault but I did find the property didn’t have much ‘general’ space to relax. It lacked a certain kind of ‘flow’. Maybe just because we were the only ones. Also being in winter it would have been nice to have an option to eat dinner at the property.

‏My experience at this five-star boutique hotel was wonderful by all standards. ‏The location is great, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable, and the service is extremely professional. ‏I would like to thank the staff for their warm welcome and excellent service. They were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. ‏I highly recommend it and, God willing, I will return to stay there again in the future.

Beautiful historic buildings in spectacular surroundings, just a short hop from the picturesque village of Swellendam. Superbly appointed and comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful yoga session. We especially liked the fact that a staff member cleaned our car pre-departure without being asked!

We were slightly disappointed that the hotel’s restaurant is currently closed. A minor point regarding the room: the ceiling light appeared to have a malfunction where one bulb could not be turned off and another flickered all night long.

Wonderful hotel in a 200 year old Dutch farm. Beautiful surroundings, very tasteful furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. We had a fantastic room/suite all by ourselves, which was absolutely magnificent and extremely comfortable. Wonderful breakfast with a chef who prepares the most delicious food. This place will make you relax and lose all stress and thoughts of home… Absolute tóp hotel!

Beautiful traditional thatched buildings set in beautifully maintained gardens. Our cottage was spacious and tastefully decorated. Water bed was sensational. I think that was my second experience of a water bed and loved it. Jocelyn and Linda were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and some lovely choices of continental and cooked dishes. Walking distance to the town, delightful cafes and restaurants. The museum is a must visit. Roy, the owner was very kind and interested in our well being. Pool was sensational!!!🤣

Breakfast was superb. Full service and nothing to much trouble. A true character property with a lovely atmosphere of calm and tranquility.

The bathroom was probably to large in the room we stayed and perhaps could have been heated better. It was a pity they did not provide a facility for evening dinning.

Our final night of our holiday in South Africa so we decided to splash out and spend a little more by booking De Kloof. We did not regret it. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who said we could select from two different rooms that were available. Both were absolutely beautful, very spacious with high quality furnishings. We selected "Merlot". The room was fantastic. Huge bathroom, lovely balcony overlooking the garden and extremely comfortable. After a lot of time in the car we had a lovely afternoon relaxing in the sun by the pool where there was a drinks service by ringing a bell. The location was a little way off the main street but walkable to the restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was a little slow but perfectly acceptable.
