Everything was clean and comfortable. Reception at the entrance gate was so awesome. The two guards was so friendly and so happy. Both on our way in and again on our way out. Game drive was awesome especially with the ranger not only focusing on the big animals but also the tiny birds and even termites. Very pleasureable activity.

The restaurant was closed one evening. It would have been great to have been notified about that on the Sondela group a day or two in advance. So we get there all dressed up and happy to enjoy a nice dinner with friends and we were just turned away. If bwe were notified in advance we would have come the evening before. Was really disheartning to get to closed doors after an extremely hot day and then no food or dinner. Please communicate a function like this with your guests in advance.

I loved the way it is cozy and spacious at the same time .Everything we needed was there.I was amazed by the guys who were creating pumas for the water to escape not to cause a lot of mud on the roads . I think you guys rock. I’m definitely coming back.

The house keeping needs to improve on their cleaning.It was like they were doing us a favor. Som day we never had towels to use . Sondela is a great place to stay and can’t be spoiled by house keeping. You can work on that part mostly.

Had an amazing trip. My daughters first holiday and 5 year wedding anniversary. My unit Karee 102 was the most amazing setting I've had a bush holiday in. Thanx to the Koekemoer family. The ground staff and restaurant staff were top notch. Met a manager who grew up in the same town as me, Andre is every penny worth as a manager, friendly and helpful when it comes to information.

Ground staff was good. Need a little work on reception staff. Make promises and don't deliver. Nobody informed me there was a conversation fee that needed to be paid. I understand there are you people in training, but they need to be trained correctly and provide geusts with the correct and important information. Had a problem with my air conditioning from day one, but the ground staff, sorted out for me eventually, once I got to speak to someone. Didn't have warm water from Friday night till Saturday afternoon. Sondela's number didnt work the whole weekend to report these problems.

The Chalet was clean, the kitchen was equipped with all the utensils we required. The location of the facility perfect spot to relax and get away from busy city life. We enjoyed waking up and having visitors at our door steps (animals), being surrounded by nature and reconnecting with nature, listening to animals sounds at night. We also enjoyed the Quad bikes rides, swimming and all the other activities.

The drain in the shower did not drain water fast enough one would find his feet soaked in dirty water in the shower. The drain needs to be repositioned.

Remoteness and a bit of the bush on your doorstep.

The chalets are quite a bit of a distance from reception/pools/shop/restaurant etc (10 min drive doing 30km/h) and we didn’t have bicycles so had to hop in the car - didn’t expect that as it was our first stay here. Geyser water was cold in the mornings - think it was on a timer or something. Did ask someone to come out and look but it wasn’t sorted before we left.

The activities planned were excellent. Staff for activities were friendly and well prepared. Kids had a blast. Also loved how freely animals roamed around. We loved seeing them up close just outside our chalet.

Reception staff, depending on whom you approached were a bit terse and at times confused.

The rooms were spacious and the fact that the animals came in front of the chalet was priceless. The privacy and quietness of the area is a plus. We were provided with the things we needed at the chalet some we didn't even expect to find.

The water from the geyser to the bath could get hot, we ended up using a bucket to pour hot water from the kitchen sink to the bathroom. The fact that we could not book for a game drive online or telephonically as the chalets are far frm the reception we couldn't do up and downs.

Pools, gardens, peacefulness, vibe, animals, close to JHB, shop and deli. Biking and walking.

Had to pay extra for aircon and wifi. Shower drain was full of air. Lounge furniture was old and uncomfortable. Tanning beds were old and uncomfortable.

Was not told of conservation fee prior of booking only told about it on check in and that's unprofessional.There was an employee who kept on arguing with me that I should not have used booking.com and book straight on their website I would be knowing.Thats unprofessional for an employee to ague and raise voice at a visitor like that
