Yep definitely what we were looking for. Small pool area and a bit of overcrowding esp during hot festive holiday stay and ceiling fans in the main suites not so effective. The restaurant needs to improve. We need freshly prepared items not frozen and warmed up stuff. Iron tied onto the ironing board was a bit disappointing, I think you can come up with something better for security. Otherwise we had a really great time as a family with all the activities offered on site

This was the first time visiting the resort and our entire family really enjoyed our stay. The various activities available during the day and evening was fantastic so we rarely had to leave the resort. The food was fantastic, the staff friendly and accommodating, which made our stay even better.

Only two things to call out. 1) We unfortunately had very noisy neighbors who did not follow the noise policy and only went to bed after 11:30pm at night, so my children had difficulty falling asleep. Visibility of guards patrolling can be improved. 2) Although the unit was clean and big enough for the family, the furniture needs some updating. Both the couches in the unit was old and sagging, so was not very comfortable to sit on.

The place had everything we needed for our stay and most importantly I liked that fact that there were different activities for all ages so my entire family was well catered for

I didn’t appreciate how the cleaner was treating us on our last day we were trying to pack our stuff in the one room and she insisted that she had to clean there I asked her to start with the other rooms whilst I was finishing off she refused instead she moved my luggage bag and started making the bed despite my request. I didn’t appreciate her behaviour and she refused to give us her name

I loved the fact that there were activities for everyone to do. The kids were kept entertained throughout the day so there was never a 'mom I'm bored' moment! Hubby got to play with the air rifles and archery, mom squeezed in a spa day and horse riding while the kids did everything from making puppets to beading and decorating cupcakes!

I wouldn't say I didn't like anything, I would however suggest that maybe the Property could look into some general maintenance eg. The handheld shower in the bathroom needed a new washer, the master bedroom could do with a newer bed. But those were not deal breakers for me, suggestions on how one could improve.

I recently stayed at Alpine Heath for my birthday weekend, and it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. The accommodation was comfortable, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The resort's facilities were excellent, offering a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Whether it was exploring the beautiful surroundings or making use of the on-site amenities, there was always something to do. A special mention to the chef, who went above and beyond to accommodate my vegetarian family. The effort put into preparing delicious, specially made vegetarian meals was truly appreciated and made our stay even more memorable. We also had the chance to visit the spa, which was absolutely incredible—one of the best I’ve ever been to! The treatments were top-notch, and it was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the experience even more. The only downside was that check-in took a bit longer than expected on the first day, but once we were settled in, everything else made up for it. Overall, Alpine Heath exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a scenic, family-friendly retreat with outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

Exception service from the day we checked in Mbali was amazing and welcoming. I got injured whilst hiking on Christmas morning and the guard at the gate called for First Aid and they were waiting for me. Shirley and Steve were phenomenal. I was rushed to Busamed Harrismith. Upon my arrival Mbali made plans to organise me a better chalet that is easily accessible with a wheelchair. Thank you to MaNdaba (housekeeping) for making sure that we get great service.

I have nothing to complain about

We came down as a family of 5. And we didn't leave the resort in the time we were at the resort. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. honestly, I would come back annually just because of the staff, facilities aside as that's a solid bonus. we had the most amazing time at the restaurants and leisure zone. Enjoyed an amazing hike but if anything the resort has amazing staff that my children will not forget. especially as it was our 6 year olds birthday weekend! She will never forget how special it was!

They need to install heaters and air conditioners not all can stand fireplaces . Change blankets too.

The staff were absolutely amazing. By far the friendliest and most helpful I have ever dealt with in all my travels.

Our unit was incredibly hot. Especially the upstairs room. It was unusable and we had to share the bottom rooms. Ceiling fan was inadequate and too small for such a high ceiling. We couldn't bare it. Please advise guests to bring their own fans. To be very honest it almost ruined what would have been a perfect get away as everything else was exceptional.

Staff are amazing, they were excellent from start of trip consistently until the end. Location of resort is great. There are lots of activities to do on site, beautiful hikes and walks. Food is average but freshly prepared. Little convenient shop for odds.

Units are very old and need an upgrade and a deep clean. Food can be a bit more varied. Guided hikes would be good. It was advertised as having MTB trails which it doesn't have, you have go outside the property and pay.
