The location on beach front and staff who are incredible at customer service. Room was maintained daily and food was superb at every serving. Spa services good - massage next to pool was perfect. Sound of the waves is restful and views out to sea were spectacular. Parking attendants were a joy - so happy to help you.

The shower needed updating and was tricky to keep a consistent temperature. The shower screen was inefficient at keeping water in bath itself so I inadvertently flooded bathroom floor every time I showered.

The staff are amazing. They are friendly, aim to please, efficient and service is always with a smile. The rooms are clean and comfortable although cupboard space is extremely limited for 2 people who stay for more than a weekend. The pool area has always been and still is lovely. The view, the service, the comfort, the pool temperature is all wonderful. Breakfast is good and the meals I ordered were all good. The 5 oçlock drinks are a very nice touch.

I have been visiting this whole hotel for over 30 years and it has so much going for it. The staff are amazing, the location is brilliant and pool area simply beautiful. However, it is way overdue for a renovation. The interior is dark, the furniture is tired and there are areas where repairs have been done such as cementing or grouting and it has not been cleaned up properly. The paint on the exterior of the entrance is pealing. An interior renovation and fresh coat of paint and this hotel would be competition for any of the hotels in the area. The ecoli in the water is alarming.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Umhlanga. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms were very nice, spotless, and well-maintained. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. A special mention goes to the poolside team – the guys at the pool service were truly exceptional! Friendly, attentive, and made relaxing by the pool an absolute pleasure. Breakfast was also fantastic – great selection and quality, with lovely service.

Unfortunately, our overall experience was let down by the checkout process. The gentleman at reception was not friendly and showed little interest in assisting us. We asked him to arrange transport to the airport, and he assured us it would arrive in half an hour. After waiting 45 minutes with no update, we had to order our own Uber to avoid missing our flight. This lack of follow-through was very disappointing and unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.

My family and I recently stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel and had a truly memorable experience. The location is absolutely spectacular, offering breathtaking views that elevate the entire stay. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the incredible team. From check-in to the restaurant, housekeeping, and concierge — every single staff member went above and beyond to ensure comfort and happiness. Their warmth, attentiveness, and dedication are admirable, and it’s clear that guest satisfaction is at the heart of everything they do. Breakfast was another highlight — delicious, well-presented, and served with the same gracious hospitality that defines the hotel. Gym and spa were also good. If I were to offer one critique, it would be that the bathrooms in the rooms could benefit from a refresh. While the overall room was comfortable, the bathrooms are visibly dated and in need of a facelift to match the otherwise high standards of the property. All in all, a beautiful stay in a stunning location, made exceptional by the people who work there.

I booked the hotel as a treat for myself and my son for our stopover in Durban. I've never stayed in Umhlanga so I thought that Beverley Hills looked like a great place for the price. On arrival we knew instantly that we were in for a treat when we were greeted with a cold soft drink and a warm towel to freshen up. The staff were professional but without being over the top or fake. They were sincere and bubbly. Nothing was too much effort. My son and I went for a late night swim and a staff member noticed we had our room towels. He brought us bigger pool towels and placed them for us next to our belongings. The pool was amazing and the water was warm and clean. Best night swim ever. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but looking at the guests from the pool, they all had an amazing evening. The location was excellent and we felt very safe ! We even went for a walk at night along the promenade. Lovely surprise to arrive back to our room and find some complementary chocolates. Breakfast was out of this world. I had eggs Benedict and my son had the pancakes and we both asked if we could have some bacon with our order. We both agreed that it was the best breakfast we've ever had from a hotel ! We used the hotel mini bus to take us to the Gateway shopping centre. There was a small charge but absolutely worth it for the convenience ! The driver is an absolute legend ! We got so much more than what we expected and wished we could have stayed another few nights. We will be back !

Staff : From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful. They went over-and-above to serve and please. Swimming Pool : The big pool was heated ! It made such a huge difference to my experience. Took a dip early in the morning and it was just lovely to walk into a warm pool. The pool boys were very attentive and helped with umbrellas, sunbeds, supply of free water bottles etc. Breakfast : This was exceptional. A very big variety to choose from. You can also order from a menu. It was the same breakfast & layout each morning, but we never got tired of it ! The staff were also very quick to bring the best coffees and warm toast....plus there is champagne at breakfast each morning. This was a feast ! Room : All rooms have a sea-view, also overlooking the pool and the sea. The coffee machine (with pods) & cookies in the room was of very good quality and replenished twice a day. The turn-down-service in the evenings were also a nice feature and we received a different chocolate and fresh water bottles each evening. The towels in the bathroom were extra thick ! SPA : The Mangwanani Spa is small, but there are 2 gazebo's next to the swimming pool area where we had a couples massage. Security : We felt very safe. There is a security guard at the steps leading down from the swimming pool grass area down to the Umglanga Promenade. People walk & jog on this 2.5 km route from early morning. The Parkrun also starts next to the hotel (at the Whalebone Pier)....which was so convenient. We could also park our rental car behind booms inside the hotel parking area. Other : There is a meet-and-greet every weekday evening between 5pm and 6pm...and again this is such a nice extra to drink a glass of wine before dinner.

The Sugar Club restaurant and The Terrace restaurant is definately on the pricey side. We ate dinner at a different restaurant close to the hotel each evening (walking distance / 200 meters).

Perfect, beautiful location looking out over the Indian Ocean. Outstanding, attentive staff who cheerfully worked to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable stay. Lovely large room with stylish furnishing. Well appointed, tastefully decorated common areas, giving a luxury ambience. Multiple indoor and outdoor eating areas. Large and varied breakfast buffet, with an expert preparing eggs to order.

The exterior of the building is tiring, and to remain competitive in this rapidly developing area, attention to the rusted railings and cracked paintwork is needed.

From the warm welcome to the thoughtful amenities and exceptional service, our stay at The Beverly Hills felt like home away from home, where every detail was desirous ultimate comfort and relaxation. Can you believe that my partner and I had this entire itinerary planned for our weekend in Durban, but we ended up being happily stuck in the premises of The Beverly Hills Hitel ❤️We are happy Clients 😀

The staff provided exemplary service, demonstrating a commitment to going above and beyond their responsibilities to ensure that all Comrades runners were adequately nourished during the early hours of the morning. Additionally, they facilitated transportation arrangements for our group.

It's just a recommendation that porters be readily available or offer to bring luggage bags to our rooms when all porters are busy, as some of their guests arrive at the hotel feeling fatigued.

Very friendly staff, always helpful. Service around pool area exceptional. Very nice breakfast. Rooms clean and beds comfortable.

Old building that needs a revamp. No hot water on one night, but was fixed the next day. A holding deposit was taken from my Credit Card and should have been released at check out after settling the outstanding bill. We checked out on the 23 December 2023 and the transaction hold is still pending on my account as of the 27 January 2024. The Hotel accounts department is not very helpful in resolving the issue, keeps on blaming my bank, although the hotel has placed the hold. Staff at check in not very knowledgeable about banking procedure.
