If you're looking for comfort and tranquility, Sandals Guesthouse is the place to go. I loved the spaciousness of the room and how clean it was. I really appreciated the daily cleaning. The breakfast selection is wide and definitely catered for my needs. Everything was perfection. Thank you to Ash and Hazel for even going above and beyond to give recommendations for nearby restaurants and also making it possible to extend my stay at a short notice. A very big Thank you to Khaya, the kitchen and cleaning staff, their care and hospitality is unmatched. I will definitely stay here again.

We only had one night at Sandals as a transit to safari. However, we found Sandals to be an excellent guest house and wish we'd spent a day or two longer. The guest house is expertly run and the staff are motivated and very friendly. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. Facilities are good, with a nice pool.

Not massively impresses by Umhlanga - a lot of high rise hotels just near the centre. Bit too much concrete and bling for my taste. Nice esplanade and beach though and some good bars and restaurants.

We loved everything. The pictures you see here look exactly like the place. The place is super clean and beautiful. The hosts and staff are absolutely amazing and helpful they are there whenever you need them it really felt like home away from home The breakfast was delicious everything was very fresh and tasty. The location is perfect it is safe,quiet and a walk away from the restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed our stay sooo much I could go on and on about it

The fact that I had to leave

Khaya : what a gem of an employee. That man makes you feel like royalty, from the moment you walk in. WoW. Location is great. Ambiance. Service is outstanding. Quiet, peaceful.

We have stayed here previously and the change in ownership is now showing, lack of care, lack of maintenance, lack of owners pride and touch is everywhere to be seen. Prior this place sparkled, wowed you on entrance and sparkled, stood proud like a regal lady. Not anymore. No water backup, so we used the pool to flush the toilets (all night) tatty wallpaper, cracked tiles, lifting floor boards, broken toilet seat, misaligned picture frames, downlights left on 24 hours (what about saving power), building not painted, everything looks worn and neglected. Garden seemed dull and unkempt. Linen was not of previous quality.

this is such a lovely BNB! The Managers & staff were supper friendly and helpful. Really comfie and lux but not pretentious. Breakfast is delicious, and everything feels super personal and relaxed its such a lovely vibe and peaceful.

hmmm not much the only thing is maybe the shelf in the shower was a bit high (I'm a tall person and had to tippy toe to reach the stuff on the shelf), but they have a lovely stand just outside the walk in shower that you can put all your stuff on so its really not a problem at all & at the end of the day you dont want to hit your head on the shelf so its probably in the right spot (just not practical).

Our recent stay at Sandals Guest House was an absolute delight. The walk is not only convenient but also safe, allowing us to fully enjoy the local atmosphere. Our room, a premier bedroom/suite, offered a perfect blend of comfort and luxury, and the year-round outdoor pool, set in a serene environment, added to the overall sense of relaxation. The cleanliness of our room was impeccable, and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. It featured modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We were particularly impressed by the thoughtful touches such as complimentary bathrobes, free toiletries, and a hairdryer. The hairdryer proved to be especially useful after a refreshing swim in the pool. The owners, Ashley and Hazel, as well as staff, particularly Khaya, excel in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and their commitment to exceptional service was evident throughout our visit.

As we booked the "premier bedroom/suite," we expected certain amenities that were unfortunately absent. The room lacked a microwave and plates, which was a minor inconvenience, particularly considering the room category. However, we acknowledge that this feedback is meant to be constructive and believe it could enhance the value for money for future guests.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Very large and comfortable room with balcony. Breakfast was excellent.

Had a kitchenette in the room with crockery, cutlery and fridge but no microwave/ means of warming or cooking food. Staff were however excellent in allowing us to use the their kitchen downstairs.

The location is amazing-quiet, safe and a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Hazel was a wonderful and very accommodating host, took the time to explain what was available in the area and recommend places of interest. The staff was also very friendly. Would have loved some sea view and a slightly more sweet breakfast options, but overall everything was wonderful. I absolutely recommend the place.

this is a gorgeous place just a5 min walk away from the beach and restaurants. the location is safe. the common area is exceptionally gorgeous and the pool deck area relaxing. every morning you’re presented with a different scrumptious breakfast menu, you’re spoilt for choice. the staff is wonderful and hospitable. the hosts/owners are friendly and try everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. i had some allergy issues and my bedsheets were changed on the spot, when that didn’t solve the problem they offered to let me use another available room (place is always booked out) to see if that will make a difference. my check out was the most lovely experience, my bags were carried to the car by the hosts and they wished me a wonderful trip. you really feel like you’ve visited family

i guess this is a ME problem more than it is the host’s. my allergies were heavily triggered in my room. the hosts tried their level best to make my stay comfortable regardless of this.

It is a great place with lovely decor, large, comfortable room & bathroom. Hazel & Ashley are fabulous hosts. Rooms have balcony with sea view. Nice pool area. Breakfast has a buffet - cereal, fruit, continental plus a freshly cooked " full English" which is really good. Great location - Chartwell is the road with all the bars and restaurants, just a few minutes walk plus one road away from beach and promenade. We really enjoyed our time here and hope that we will be able to come back. Would highly recommend it.
