Perfect Guest house to start your journey in SA. I arrived early in the morning and they prepared my room earlier so that I could have a rest after a night flight from Europe. The personnel is soo nice, helped me sort out my SA simcard. Rooms are neatly furnished, clean, there was an AC but I didn't need it - nice breeze from the outside. The location is just around the corner from the Melville bars/restaurants street. Getting to downtown by uber, I think it was about 90 Rand. From airport the best is to use uber as well (300 rand). Beautiful hideaway that I used as an overnight stay. I was welcomed so nicely with warm embrace and beautiful smiles. My late check-in was accommodated. The room I booked, classic double room, was exactly what I got. Clean and offer a clean blanket for extra warmth, a little bar fridge and a coffee/tea set, and a TV with Dstv channels and a stable wifi connection. The bathroom was spacious and clean, shower/bath option. I love the side lamps and the charging sockets within reach. In the morning, I realized what beauty this accommodation has, an absolutely gorgeous garden and a clean pool that I will come back for next time and safe area. I went for breakfast and again was greeted with beautiful smiles and attention to detail. I chose the omelet that I so loved. It was also warm as they put on a fire. They also offered to keep my bags while I moved around after check out. I loved my short stay.

Only that I prefer Netflix over dstv. But I was able to watch on my phone, and the WiFi did not disappoint Overall, there is nothing much that I didn't like. I'm happy.

The room was very comfortable and the other premises (the restaurant area and the courtyard with a garden) were super well-maintained and pleasant. Helpful and friendly staff, and great free breakfast consisting of 2 courses (one with yoghurt and muesli and the other with a warm dish such as an omelette).

We had no issues with our one night stay. If you are a light sleeper, the music from the nearby parties could disturb you (we stayed on Saturday so we could hear some music but it wasn’t a problem for us).

This was the best place we stayed at in our 2 months in South Africa. The room is beautiful, and the host is so much into the small details, having home made wine as a welcome in our bedroom and the decoration exceeding our expectations. The smile of the staff is so unique, she was super welcoming and always giving us really happy positive vibes.

It’s located in a very party/restaurant location so you could hear a bit of noise from the bars and our room neighbors were there not to rest. But this is no fault of the hotel and años we were there in a Friday night.

What a great little guesthouse! Staff who work there are exceptionally hospitable and friendly. The place is as described, located in a cool neighbourhood (Joburg is bit of an unsafe shithole and we are very happy we decided to stay outside the CBD). This place was very clean, charming, well maintained and with a delicious brekkie. We definitely recommend it to everyone.

84 on Fourth is a fun place, right in the heart of Melville, a short walk from some tasty restaurants. The vibe is nice with beautiful flowers in the front and a very nice garden in the back. Zorana, Mags, Sabello, and Kats made us feel right at home. Mags made us delicious breakfasts and always greeted us by name. Staying at this guest house made us feel immediately connected to the true spirit of Johannesburg.

We enjoyed our stay; the hosts were very responsive to any requests.

Amazing place to take refuge from the city, serene garden and great staff. The breakfast is amazing and the people welcoming.

The only thing that stands out negatively is that our room (Number 8) was completely engulfed in shade from the near by trees, leaving the bed and our place cold and uninviting.

The staff were really friendly, they helped when I had trouble with my mobile provider back in the UK. They booked my half day excursion. The breadfast was good, loved the mushrooms. I loved the decor and the small courtyard. But it was the staff that made my stay exceptional.

TBH I couldn't fault my stay.

Great,safe location with bars, 2 small shops, and a restaurant nearby - Bambalino. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful with my later check in. The room was spacious, well equipped (refrigerator and rea/coffee making facilities) and with an ensuite bathroom and the bed super comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. They are able to assist with airport transfers.

Nothing - it was all good!

Breakfast was fresh, tasty and delicious. Chef really knows what they're doing.

The parking is outside the main gate. It was raining on that day so moving luggages from the car to the room was a mission. There's a gate to open to access the parking lot, and the main gate to also open when moving in between. That was not nice.
