I had a wonderful stay at this Sunbury B&B in Johannesburg. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the city with Uber Taxi and nearby shopping centre. My room was very spacious, immaculately clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep (with various pillows - for the choice of any kind). The breakfast was perfect, offering a delicious and satisfying start to the day (coffee was particularly good). Special thanks to Ms. Christina for her warm hospitality and welcome – she truly made my stay enjoyable and even more important - safe (she helped me with exchange of money, getting SIM card, as well as use of Uber). I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe and welcoming stay in Johannesburg. Once again many thanks for all your kind assistance and support!

Johannesburg is a vibrant city, but it's important to be cautious as safety can be a concern in certain areas. While I enjoyed my stay, I was disappointed that the swimming pool wasn't available during most of my visit. It was only put in order as I was preparing to depart, which was unfortunate since I had hoped to use it throughout my stay.

Room in large house, quiet neighborhood. Comfy bed with large bath, good shower with hot water. Bedroom is heated by portable gas heater, as winter is chilly at night in Jo'burg. Christina the owner is welcoming, cooks a wonderful BF. She did laundry for me at a very reasonable price. She also arrange airport transfer and Soweto tour (highly recommended as my guide is very knowledgeable about the history of Jo'burg) I think rooms on the main floor are better as there are large windows with lots of light.

There are several restaurants close by, walkable 500-700m during daylight but Christina strongly advised use of Uber to get back to house as neighborhood is not safe at night.

I think there was just a miscommunication regarding the breakfast. I was offered an English breakfast, the other guest got theirs but mine never came and I eventually had to leave.

The establishment is in a secure location. It has a swimming pool also and secured parking for at least 3 vehicles. The staff are helpful.

Breakfast is provided, but with just a bit of effort, it can easily be improved, ie. include a couple of additional items for those who may want it, eg, bacon, sausages or fruit, etc.

I was very happy with the way I was welcomed and by the owner who went out of her way to help me with transport directions to the place and was concerned about my safety until I arrived at the place. Ntokozo who welcomed us was very sweet and friendly and went out of her way to make us feel at home away from home. Keep it up guys I will definitely recommend the place to friends and family.

Our ride was not identified at the airport . End up paying 2x to get to our location. And i am charge 2 x for this hotel/bnb. I will need to deal with this again after my vacation…this is a booking. Com problem…

It is an old property that’s been running as a bnb for many years but it is central and we felt safe during our stay. Close to many restaurants and main roads. Christina was very accommodating and a lovely host. I was amazed that the rooms are serviced/cleaned during your stay - great value for money! And the breakfast was relaxed and enjoyable.

The pool area was a little worn and pool didn’t look too inviting. Lighting could be more modern in the breakfast area as it can look slightly dark at times.

The staff were amazing, going out of their way to help.

The first night was hot and i had to leave the windows open, which let in the mosquitoes. And Jozi mosquitoes do have a sharp bite.

Staff was very helpful and welcoming, house is beautiful and clean, beds are very comfortable, room is spacious and luminous, breakfast was very good and filling.

Melville is a black area but we didn't feel unsafe being white. There is a great street nearby to go for drinks and food.
