I would like to provide feedback on something unusual- I was due to stay at the hotel with my husband but received an emergency call from home (Durban) letting me know that my son wasn't well. I immediately flew back to Durban and informed the hotel that we would not be able to stay. They very graciously offered us a voucher to come back and stay another time. We found out that night that my son has an aggressive form of brain cancer. We highly appreciate that the hotel was so accommodating and their kindness went a long way in such a challenging time. Even though they didn't know the full extent of the seriousness at the time, they still assisted us.

I loved the Mountain View, Customer Service & the food at The Kraal.

I didn’t like a number of things about our room. Firstly, The furniture in the picture advertised is very different from what we actually got. What we got was way less glamorous. The cupboards are chipped, especially inside when you open the the door that covers the bar fridge-the fridge wasn’t even cold. The glass tables have scratches, the paintwork is of sub-par quality, the painter painted the skirting on the tiles in the bathroom and no one bothered to wipe that paint off. Structurally, the toilet has no window, so if you poop you basically stink up the whole room. 😩 The toilet seat is old and when it’s lifted you can see the brown wood protruding out of it. Yuck! The gowns weren’t white… I could go on but the room quality needs a huge improvement!

Beautiful stunning buildings and spacious rooms

Late evening, around nine/ ten, bitterly cold: Air con was down, wifi was down , phone lines off line - I couldn’t get assistance on these as the WhatsApp service said it’s after hours. Yet they claim to be available 24/7. While checking in reception said I can’t book a spa treatment as spa is closed, when they were open the next day they said no availability. The gent(supervisor /manager)at the restaurant around 11am said I can’t order food till 12:30. I explained I skipped breakfast but he said they are getting ready for a bigger group/ function! For 3,2k a night you telling me I can’t even get a quick coffee and snack? Inhospitable and selective as the couple next to me were served food! Unacceptable behavior and lack of service!!

The property welcomes you with fabulous views, beers in the mini fridge and friendly smiling staff at every corner. Nothing was too difficult for them to accommodate. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included and could be ordered off an a la carte menu. The staff were extremely accommodating in packing up a breakfast pack for one of our sick travellers. They really made the effort with everything, and it was much appreciated. The wildlife we saw from our window was an added bonus that really elevated our experience!

The only small issue was the rooms were quite cold. There is a small oil heater in the room, but possibly a larger heater or some warmer blankets in the winter would be a nice touch.

Our stay at Thaba Eco Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. I was booked into the Mountain View room, and from the moment i arrived, every detail was designed for comfort and relaxation. The room itself was a serene retreat—spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with thoughtful touches like plush robes and slippers. The bathroom was stunning, offering ample space and a luxurious feel. A special highlight was the fully stocked mini bar, which came at no extra charge and included a delightful selection of snacks and drinks—perfect for unwinding in the room while taking in the peaceful natural surroundings. Check-in was seamless, and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly team. The porters who transported me around the hotel grounds were efficient and incredibly pleasant, always ready to assist with a smile. Dining at the venue was a treat. The catering was top-notch, and the breakfast buffet the next morning offered a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day right. To top off the experience, I was kindly granted a late check-out, which allowed me to enjoy the tranquil environment just a little longer. Check-out was quick and hassle-free, rounding off a truly relaxing and luxurious stay. Highly recommended for anyone needing a peaceful escape with impeccable service.

Easy to get to off the main highway. Expansive landscape. Nicely decorated rooms. Big bathroom and shower area. Big bedroom with lounge.

I was given rooms I did not book. I had booked on the first floor overlooking the valley. Not sure if it’s because I had kids with me. It was never explained and I too was in a hurry during check in. The option for room drinks was not offered to me but was availed to another party we came with. We had a medical emergency and they did not have an in house doctor. They did offer to call an ambulance for us and followed up in the morning

Had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious & lot of options. Breakfast was a lot you dnt know what to choose from. We dint get chance for game drive as was fully booked for the day but we definitely coming back soon.

It was my 2nd visit and it was certainly better than the 1st one. The view from the Junior suite is exceptionally beautiful with amazing sunset, which adds to the comfort of the room. The game drive with Travis was enjoyable and relaxing. Spent some time at the eBAR - stunning. A beautiful buzzing restaurant with great food and good portion sizes for the price. The buffet breakfast is really good with a variety of options. The restaurant is busy, make sure you book. Thaba Eco looks like a great venue for a wedding with a beautiful Church on site. Will be coming back soon.

Please alternate the breakfast menu for a different experience everytime.

We booked this 2 night getaway to relax from a hectic holiday. We stayed in suite 319 which had amazing uninterrupted views from the windows. When we checked in we were taken by golf cart to our room by the reception staff that gave us a guided tour on the way. The room was large and very clean with a massive bed, wardrobe, desk area, table and chairs both inside and on the balcony. There was a mini bar that you could choose what you wanted in. There was a large bathroom with a bath, shower and two sinks as well as a separate toilet. We ate in the Kraal restaurant on both nights of our stay and we found the staff and food to be amazing and great value for money. The selection for breakfast was great. The pool area was great with little cabanas and sun-beds to enjoy the sun. The whole hotel was peaceful and relaxing and felt like a little oasis.
