Belvidere Manor is as beautiful as ever, such an ideal location. Gardens are lovely as are the views. Room was fine but on the small side. Good linen and towels. Great TV selection. Room was well positioned in the complex, close to The Bell.
Small room with no cupboard space. Bathroom window was very dirty. Privacy roller blind was broken as was a handle on the one drawer. The Bell closed early on the one night. When we went over to have dinner, it was closing up an hour earlier than it should have. Staff friendliness was lacking a couple of mornings at breakfast. One morning there was no tomato available for the mixed grill breakfast, the same the previous evening when we had dinner.

Beautiful location, great accommodation and friendly staff - especially the breakfast waiter who tells you everything is "super dooper". There's no need to venture off the estate for dinner. The Bell pub offers great meals and it's located just a few paces from the rooms and cottages. It does get busy between 6 and 8pm so it's best to pop in earlier and ask them to reserve a table. If you're on the estate during the day, it's a short walk along a footpath north to the excellent Oak Leaf cafe. Holy Trinity church is also worth a visit.
For first-time visitors to the estate, it's far from clear how to navigate to reception. The best bet is to follow signs for the Bell pub and ask from there. While well appointed and comfortable, the Duthie rooms don't have any storage space, wardrobe or drawers. There's just a basic garment rail for your clothes. It's fine for one or two nights, but for a longer stay, you'd be better off in one of the cottages.

The setting was idyllic, the grounds were beautiful and spacious. The Inn on site was great, being able to get a meal without going into the main town made our short stay more relaxing. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful, in particular our waiter who was enthusiastic and eager to please. Also, the receptionist on duty when we arrived was very helpful (I wish I knew both of their names).
We weren’t able to book a twin room for the other couple in our party and had to book a double room for each of them. That was a bit of a disappointment and meant the cost was more expensive than expected.

Location as usual was fabulous. Duthie room 1 was the best of the three. Linen was great and bed comfortable. Good TV. We liked that there had been some improvements in the bedroom since our last stay in April. Breakfast was OK. Need a bit more choice. Staff were friendly.
Bathrooms in the Duthie rooms a little tired. The Bell is now closed on Sunday and Monday - was never like that before. We missed Geoffrey. He is an institution and it would be great if he was reinstated.

Super comfy room, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved having the wall heater in the room, it kept the room at a perfect temperature and the electric blankets allowed us to be super comfy on the cold and rainy nights. We also loved all the live streaming options on the TV.
No dedicated parking space. There was a Sunday lunch hour where we got back and couldn't find parking.

The location was lovely and peaceful. The room was clean and well decorated with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was lovely.
We stayed in the smaller cottages attached to the main house. As previously stated the cottage was lovely. However, there was a light on from the main house entrance hall that stayed on at night and came through the window as we were attached directly to the house. This made the room a little light, making it difficult to sleep

The cottage was large. There were problems with the washing machine, the fridge and the heater but the hotel fixed the heater and did the washing themselves. They will defrost the fridge which was iced-up. The breakfast was well cooked but I didn't always get what I ordered. I think they need a toaster. All in all the staff were great.

But: The impressive complex on a lagoon consists of spacious, excellently furnished cottages. The staff are extremely friendly and competent. Kneysa itself has little to offer as a small town, but Belvidere Manor is a gem!
The only weakness is the in-house restaurant: the location and the house make a particularly inviting impression. This is ruined when you order something to eat: you have to wait a long time, the food was extremely poor and the staff in the "Bell" were unwilling and untrained.

Staff was great, especially Nane who has true hospitality in her blood. We had an entire villa, great location just out of the busy Knysna. Lovely pool. And a nice pub/restaurant on site. Great for kids! Lots of space and safe.
- no airconditioning - had to pay extra for cappuccino in an included breakfast - bird droppings at the pool, which were not removed regularly.

Location was perfect, quite close to Knysna, yet You felt like You were in the Countryside. Beautiful Birdlife, well maintained Gardens. The Bell Pub is really nice and the view is amazing. Nice, varied menu. I really hope to come back here, one day.
That I couldn't stay longer...
