An amazing boutique 5* in Knysna with excellent location & view, beautiful rooms & common areas, exceptionally professional staff. Ros & Bianca have created a great place to relax and get pampered. Decorated with a lot of taste and love for beauty and details, one feels welcome and at home in the minute you step in. Tracy & Beauty can read all your wishes without saying, from welcome drinks, organizing the stay, a drink in the evening at the terrace, being there when you need them and even having the car washed!!! No wish stays open. Thanks again for the hospitality!! We would love to be back

Absolutely nothing

Our hotels in South Africa have been fabulous: Villa Africana has to be the best!! From the moment you arrive, it’s a fantastic experience. We were greeted and offered drinks and chocolate covered strawberries: there’s afternoon tea and cakes, evening drinks … and the room is beautifully modern and spacious, with great views of Knysne Bay and everything you could want (kettle, coffee machine, fridge, safe, etc) There’s lots to do in the area - both amazing walks and views and with attractions (try Monkeyland and Birds of Paradise - it’s not just for kids, is excellent and also rehabilitates animals). Best of all though are the team - they couldn’t be nicer or more helpful - thank you Xoli, Beauty, Tracey and the rest of the team and to Ross and Bianca who were super helpful with advice. What a great stay - I hope to be back for longer.

It was perfect

Within 30 minutes of arriving at Villa Afrikaana and having received a lovely welcome from the team, we realised we'd not booked enough time in Knysna and wanted to stay longer. The team were absolutely committed to ensuring our stay was perfect. The room and facilities were immaculate and well-maintained to a very high standard and the small, individual touches including flowers, chocolates and note cards from the team were genuinely appreciated. We managed to fall ill on our very last night in Knysna (eating out at a local restaurant) and were not in a fit state to manage breakfast before the drive back to Cape Town. The staff could not have been more supportive and helpful and provided appropriate medicines to help us make the journey as well as water and fruit to sustain us. The care and consideration for our well-being was genuine and for the whole visit, I do not think we could have been better looked after.

Cannot find a single negative thing to say about our stay!

All the staff were very attentive at all times and would do anything to ensure that our stay was the best it could have been. They were quick to recommend a reliable and trusted taxi & places to visit. Afternoon tea & breakfast on our balcony was one of the many highlights of staying here. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and regularly decorated with flowers ! There is nothing to not like about staying at this property - we had the most amazing stay and would very happy to return.

Absolutely nothing at all.

From the warm welcome when we arrived to our personal send off, everything was just perfect. I shall never forget eating our wonderful breakfast on our balcony, overlooking the breathtaking view. The food, cleanliness, facilities and location were all wonderful but the thing that really stood out was the level of customer service provided by all of the staff. We have never experienced such personal and genuine attention to detail. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in!

Nothing. Faultless!

An absolute gem. The best hotel we ve ever stayed at and we travel a lot! The service was amazing, the staff were friendly but incredibly professional. The food was absolutely perfect. The decor was very tasteful. It was spotless everywhere. The pool and surrounding areas were beautiful. The little touches - like wine, chocolates, afternoon tea, flowers, beach bags and happy hour all made our stay so very special. The owner and his wife were so lovely and full of great information. If I could this hotel more stars I would . I can’t recommend it highly enough.

It was all perfect.

Wow, what an incredible place and special experience the owners have created here. Right from the initial welcome it was clear the staff are extremely well trained and were also very attentive whilst also being thoughtful, courteous, friendly and happy without ever being intrusive. The African theme of the villa complimenting perfectly the modern luxurous accommodation and facilities. The room was a good size with large comfy bed and pristine white linen. The luxury bathroom was large with shower, bath and plentiful brilliant white towels. Stunning views from the bedroom and balcony. Complimentary tea and cakes each afternoon. Complimentary drinks each evening and too many other little touches to mention. The pool area was to the same high standards as were the shared areas and dining area. We only took breakfast which was very high quality and cooked to order. Wish we had tried dinner too! We are widely travelled but really cannot think of anywhere that has ticked so many boxes. If only every accommodation had the same high standards. Highly recommended!

Didn't like... leaving! Even in the very finest of hotels there are usually things that could be criticised but in this rare case I can say the attention to detail is near perfect. Congratulations to the owners.

The whole experience from arriving through to our departure was memorable. Only one word can describe the holiday ‘PARADISE’. The hosts, and staff were friendly and attentive above all expectations. The whole property, grounds communal space and suites are exceedingly clean, beautiful with amazing decor. The views from our top floor balcony room were superb. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with plenty of choice. Added complimentary afternoon tea and evening drinks just added to our fabulous holiday experience.

Absolutely nothing to disappoint.

From the moment we arrived the wonderful staff couldn't have done more to help us. They were all so friendly and attentive and really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed even though we were sadly only staying for one night! Our room was big, clean, had a fantastic view over Knysna and a huge comfy bed. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of choice. We were sad to leave!

Everything! The highlight was the exceptional service provided by all of the staff and especially Tracy, who anticipated our every need and looked after us extremely well. Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean and had stunning views. We also loved the complimentary afternoon tea and happy hour each day. It is impossible for us to fault anything about our stay.
