I had the absolute pleasure of staying at 6 Protea, and from the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. Mr. Mohammed, the host, is truly exceptional — warm, attentive, and with such a genuine spirit that makes every guest feel valued and welcomed. The rooms were spotless, fresh, and beautifully maintained, while the entire place carried an atmosphere of calm and comfort. Waking up to the superb views each morning was an absolute highlight — the perfect balance of relaxation and beauty. It is excellent service and hospitality like this that keeps guests coming back. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and very filling. The room was far away from others such that I could work and the room had everything you could need: kettle, microwave, mini fridge and an array of different cutlery if you want to braai (which they provide as well). It was lovely sitting in the garden, watching the lagoon and listening to the birds.

The location offers wifi but it was quite slow at times - it's fine for casual scrollers but if you need to work, you might need to switch to mobile data.

The property is beautifully situated with a gorgeous view across the Knysna. Our room was a comfortable size and included a handy kitchen counter, crockery & cutlery and a fridge, although we had booked the bed & breakfast option. There were a few breakfast options which more than satisfied our needs. Our host Mohammed, was extremely welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Very good value for money.

The manager, Mohammad, was really really kind, professional and welcoming. The view from the room was lovely and the amenities made our stay very comfortable. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. We had so much fun in Knysna and our stay 6 on Protea was the cherry on the cake.

The TV in the room is very old (not a smart tv) and only had a couple channels of DSTV. In need of an upgrate. Other than that, it was really lovely.

Wonderful hillside location, overlooking the laguna. We loved the comfy, well maintained rooms with excellent beds as well as the rich breakfast prepared by two cheerful ladies. The elegant salon with fireplace is connected to the terrace, thus making a perfect place to have a sundowner while enjoying the view. For sure we'll stay there again during our next visit to Knysna.

He went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome, providing great conversation and sharing detailed recommendations for activities in the area. Breakfast was wonderful and prepared very thoughtfully. The view was superb. And so were the staff and manager. I was very pleased that we had a room on the same level and did not have to negotiate any stairs. The manager went out of her way to accommodate our needs, especially preparing breakfast for vegetarians!

The lounge and dining area should have a fireplace, especially during winter as it was really cold sitting there.t The bedroom lacks decent seating and the positioning of the TV requires attention. A sofa or 2 comfy chairs would have done the trick.

fantastic position viewing the lagoon from well above see level. The apartment is beautiful, well equipped, with big bedrooms and a terrace we unfortunately could not take advantage of because we travelled in winter. The apartment is warm... not everywhere we found the same situation... We used the laundry service; in half a day everything cleaned and ironed at a very reasonable price. Breakfast included served by the fireplace is giving you something invaluable. We will come back if we will visit SA again.

Reaching lower floor rooms might be difficult for those who have some physical issues, so inform hotel in case.

The room was clean and cozy with a lagoon view. There was a folder with suggestions of activities and eateries, which is really helpful. The lady who assisted us with the check-in and out was very polite. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious with a stunning view of the lagoon.

The place is impacted by the load shedding, however for us it wasn't an issue. There is a torch in the room provided by the property.
