We had a great stay. The facilities and cleanliness were top notch. The washing machine and dryer were particularly useful. Location couldn't be better. There is a small mall next door which has a Department store as well as a Woolworths food outlet, apart from clothes, shoes stores and so on. However many shops close fairly early. Better to check their timings. The hotel complex itself has a variety of popular restaurants. So one is spoiled for choice. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle service to and from Menlyn Mall, which is very useful. Overall, highly recommended!

Title: A Nice Hotel with an Unexpected Surprise I stayed at the Capital Menlyn Maine from June 7-9. It's a very nice place—convenient location, clean rooms, and good service. However, something strange happened that ruined my stay. When I was checking in on Friday, just as I was about to pay with my phone, a man grabbed my phone and ran. He went straight to the security guards, then got into a car and drove away quickly. The next morning, the manager apologized and said the man came to the hotel at the same time as us, so it looked like we were together. They said sorry, but it didn't really help me feel better. Overall, the hotel is nice, but this incident really bothered me. If you stay here, be careful!

The staff at this establishment provided truly exceptional service. We stayed here to attend a concert at the nearby arena, which is within walking distance. However, one of our family members uses a wheelchair, and it was raining heavily on the day of the event. Without us even needing to ask, the staff kindly arranged a complimentary shuttle to take us to the concert, ensuring we didn’t have to push the wheelchair through the rain for several hundred meters.This level of thoughtfulness and care was deeply appreciated and speaks volumes about the team’s dedication to guest comfort and satisfaction.

I used Booking.com to reserve my booking but it didn't give an option to add breakfast or dinner. Which at the hotel I had to add it under my booking when paying. The payment for breakfast was not updated on the system in the morning when we went to go eat breakfast.

In my booking I requested two beds which was on the 5th floor but when we got to the room, it was one queen bed. We were already tired to go down to change the room.

Breakfast did not live up to expectations. Empty dishes at buffet and staff ignoring you if you asked if it will be filled. Waitress rushing you to sit, and order coffee. The food that was in the dishes was very good - just sorry about the variety that was not good enough - maybe a R150 breakfast. After reading the comments on the web I even invited my children to join us for breakfast - next time I will take them to any other restaurant.

After staying overnight at the Capital Menlyn Maine many times , this was the best by far ! The reception team are friendliest . The room booked was the self catering room and it exceeded expectations.

The doors have security access but the doors are slow to close automatically and not easy to close - so guests do not close the security doors and they remain opened. We stayed during a conference and a concert across the road . Everytime I entered or exited the First floor - the security doors were always open. There are NO security cameras therefore a security risk particularly when the hotel is at 100% occupancy with many visitors around the Square . This floor has direct access to the swimming pool and the restaurant upstairs. Any persons could enter the hotel into the passages of the bedrooms.

Best location close to restaurants. The front staff was amazing. Check in was quick and we were able to check in an hour earlier. When I asked for the shower door to be checked out as it was difficult to open, they sent someone promptly.

The carpeted room smelt ‘musty’ as if the carpet got wet and did not dry properly. Tiles and wooden floors are generally better.

Very accommodating despite the early morning arrival. Found me a free room and let me switch when I found out the room had 2 connecting doors to adjacent rooms; spacious, well equipped, ample breakfast, very kind reception staff. The small mall next to it is convenient, especially the 2 supermarkets and the Kauai for good coffee.

Nothing comes to mind except perhaps the stream of messages by mail, text and WhatsApp about the upcoming stay and afterwards for a review.

What didn’t I like about the property! It is clean, it is BEAUTIFUL! Close to everything you need, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION right?! We stayed there because we were going to see Msaki and we could feel the area come alive! It was a beautiful experience and the air conditioning might have saved my life lol.

Gym is very small, but there is an enormous Virgin Active in the adjacent shopping centre that you can buy a weekly pass for.
