We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The lady at reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She even allowed us to check in early in the morning, which was a huge help since my husband had a biking trip planned for that day. Our room was spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I also visited the spa for a manicure, pedicure, and massage, and I was very pleased with the experience. The staff member was both professional and warm, and I truly enjoyed my time there. Breakfast was delicious, with a nice variety of options to choose from. The hotel is located right in the heart of Stellenbosch, which is perfect, everything is just steps away. The valet parking service was also a great convenience, especially if you're arriving by car.

Truly a five star experience. Old school charm and luxury at its best. Loved that the hotel is a 320 year old building located right on Church Street with the grand Moederkerk (Mother Church) in full view just a 100 or so metres away with many other historic buildings, art galleries, restaurants, cafes and shopping in the immediate vicinity. Comfortable, well decorated rooms with a well stocked fridge, coffee machine with pods supplied and everything needed to make a nice cup of tea. Full ensuite bathrooms. Dinner at St Helena's restaurant was excellent with outstanding service.

The hotel is located right in the center of great dining and shopping in Stellenbosch. An excellent location. Staff are very professional and helpful - always at the ready. The restaurant on-site is high quality. Service is exceptional and a food was very good. Courses were served in timely fashion and the menu, although somewhat limited, provided a number of interesting choices. A buffet breakfast is very well presented and is followed by your order fro the menu with again a number of interesting and creative breakfast choices.

We loved absolutely everything about this beautiful quaint hotel. The team who worked there could not have been nicer and couldn't do enough for you to make you feel at home. The decor was stunning and the rooms were comfy and peaceful. The treatments at the spa were top notch too. We had dinner at their restaurant the first night and the food and service was incredible, I never take pictures of food, but the presentation was so good, I had to. The breakfasts were superb too. We cannot fault this beautiful place

I stayed here last minute after my flight was cancelled. While I arrived late in the evening, the staff on duty were incredibly welcoming and kind, especially appreciated after a hectic travel day. They made sure I was able to get settled in. The room was absolutely wonderful, with a spacious bathroom, room, and balcony, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Small touches like the kettle being pre-filled were greatly appreciated. While I’m happy my flight was rescheduled, I wish I had more time to enjoy staying here, not just because of the room and location but also because of the welcoming and kind staff.

This was a wonderful property with exceptional staff. I have been travelling for a month in Africa but this is the most comfortable I have felt anywhere. The ambiance was wonderful. I had a cozy room with an over size shower and bath. The bed was very comfortable. Linens were crisp and clean with great pillows. The breakfast was beyond substantial. In addition to a wonderful continental of fresh baked bread and pastries there was a full hot menu. I also enjoyed a wonderful evening meal with wine pairing. I didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. There was also a small bar where people were enjoying themselves. As a solo traveller I appreciated that the staff were attentive and helpful. They were able to book me a lovely wine tour when everything was sold out. They offered to accompany me to the ATM if I felt uncomfortable (I didn’t). When I had a problem with my credit card they helped me resolve it. I throughly enjoyed everything about my stay including the homemade cookie on my pillow at night. I recommend you treat yourself and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Spacious room and very spacious bathroom in a charming property with an old-style Cape feel and decor, but modern amenities. Quiet, despite the central Stellenbosch location on a popular restaurants & shopping street. Helena's restaurant is a gem and the pool side area, although small, a delightful place to sit with plenty of shade. Staff were very helpful with things like parking my friends' car while we had lunch on arrival.

Stairs are quite steep and winding - of course, it is an older property.

The staff were very friendly and delivered service with a smile! The valet service was a great plus. They also had vegan options on the menu!

I was in a very small room, (the smallest in the hotel), which I didn't expect. I was above the kitchen and there was a lot of noise. I think the room is not often used so there were some issues such as lights not working properly.

Very friendly reception. Dinner at Helena’s restaurant was excellent as well the breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay in this gem in the heart of Stellenbosch.

There was no parking near the hotel on arrival. We had to drive a circular route several times and then ended up double parking to get to reception. Stellenbosch municipality could solve this problem by allocating one parking space in front of the hotel for them.
