The staff was great , when we had any requests or concerns they tried their best to fulfill it. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, although it was only cold / preserved things it was filling and the buffet style was great. The temperature of the pool water was really great, not cold at all, I could swim in the evening late 😁 Because we wanted self - catering, we were moved to the cottage on our last day, we wish we could have been moved sooner as it would have made our stay even better! The railway market was a winner 🏆.
The price for the facilities/ stay was not worth it at all. There was a shared bathroom, which I did not know meant that we're sharing with the rest of the residents. We could not have our own food in the eating area, it had to be from the restaurant and we could not afford to eat from the restaurant, so we had to drive out daily to eat something in the town. The activities without cost on premises were limited , everything else we needed to pay for, The facility is great if you're stacked with money.

We absolutely loved our stay at Trail’s End! The rooms are great: clean, tidy, large bathrooms, cozy beds. We both rented bikes and In the morning after our first night Pieter showed us a few wonderful biking trails. There are different levels of trails so there is something to do for everyone. We were also able to join for the train race in the weekend with Mike and Luke - an absolute must do if you enjoy biking! A fun addition was the tour in the biking museum which has been set up with great care and an eye for detail: for us it was nice to have some insights in the South African bicycle heroes. Trail’s end is also a great basis for tasting the wines of Elgin, we would highly recommend going to Oak valley and Paul Clüver (check if you need any reservations). Trail’s End is very “bruisend” (bubbly) as we say in Dutch. Many guests enjoy the shared area with or without kids - which for us (as we enjoy some livelihood) was quite nice. In the evening it is highly recommended to try the lovely dishes from the chef (try the hake if you enjoy fish and Malva Cake or brownie for the sweet tooth) and several great wines / beers / other drinks can be ordered at the bar. There is enough space for everyone to enjoy the great atmosphere and relax and read a book, play some games or watch soccer on the big screen tv. What worked well for us was that there is a quiet time from 22:00 - as everyone also wakes up early to go biking, hiking or do other activities. Lastly but not the least important: the staff is superfriendly, it is visible everyone enjoys working there and this gives a great energy to Trail’s End. Overall a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some challenging mountain bike trails, good wine and laughs with other guests & staff. Unfortunately we don’t live in South Africa but next time we visit we will definitely come back to Trail’s End.
Everything was perfect!

Lots to do, at the facility and many options close by too like the Railway market and other wine farms. The trails were great as well, kid friendly and tougher options. Beer on tap in the lounge and the cold, health breakfast was very good.
There's no two point plugs in the room so you need to ask for an adapter at the front desk to charge your phone, the hotel should just leave these in the room.. There was no fridge in our room either, we had to use the communal fridge in the upstairs lobby.

Everything was just great, Friendly Hosts, Pieter and Brenda. Friendly staff, enjoyable breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great cycling and walking routes. Safe riding trails for my daughter. Very comfortable rooms. Most beautiful and informative bicycle museum in South Africa. Enjoyed a great stay at this establishment.
Nothing at all.

All the meals are great value for money. You feel well fed and it's great to come back from some strenuous exercise and have a good meal.
Being an open space you can hear the other people in the lounge/dining room area in the background when you are in your room (not too loudly). But they are pretty strict about times of quite and most visitors are respectful so we have not had a problem with it.

We love absolutely everything about if. The fact that we coudk enjoy dinner and our little one was riding around inside was very nice. The fireplace, the food, the staff... Everything exceed our expectations. Very well located for a weekend full of activities (walks, cycling and visiting the Engin Railway Market). We recommend visiting the Bycicle Museum. We'll be back.
The pillows were a bit high and hard :)

We were a group of 10 ladies. The surrounding is very beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms are very spacious especially if you are group of friends or family. The lunch and Dinner was very delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an opportunity to go and visit the bicycle Museum. We will definitely come and visit again.
Nothing at all. All good.

I had such a great week spending in Africas first and only bike hotel Trail‘s End! I mainly came here for mountainbiking issues and I didn’t get disappointed at all. The trails start right away and bring you to great areas with stunning views. The owners and stuff members are an amazing team, always friendly and care about your comfort. The food is delicious here. Also, the room was quite cozy and the common room is so spacious and nicely decorated that makes you feel homely. The whole atmosphere here is just perfect!

Whether you’re a mountain biker, trail runner, or hiker, this place is a paradise—perfectly situated for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the trails. Highly recommended!

That staff was excellent, venue was beautiful, very relaxing. Just wished I had more time at the venue.
The fact that the room we booked had no bathroom. And it was not clearly stipulated in the booking was an issue, but it nothing to do with the venue. Our room happend to be opposite the bathrooms/toilets so that made it easier.
