WOW. The photos don't do it justice. What an incredible place. We are already looking to come back next year. The villa only has 6 rooms, so its not busy with lots of guests, but there is a big expanse of mature gardens, terraces, multiple pergolas, seating areas and breakfast room. If you can find it available just book it fast. Location: 10/10 They are a little way out of the town, but its only a 10 min walk to the old town, if you are intimidated by the hills in the area don't worry, they have thought of this and have their onsite car park as one of the electric scooter parking zones which you can hire at any time on an app. The onsite car park can fit about ten cars and is free to guests. The villa is off a quiet side road so no through traffic. There is also a local taxi company who usually arrive 5-10 mins after you call. The Villa/room: The building is cool and has a maze of rooms. Secure coded gates to the outside, then the doors have a code too for extra security. Pampas grass blocks off the road so no-one outside can see in to the gardens/pool. Room was really lovely, solid big double bed, memory foam mattress and pillows and excellent aircon, wardrobe. Waterfall showers and great pressure, daily turndown if you would like it. Food: Breakfast was fresh daily, coffee carrot cakes, fruit, toast, meats, mushrooms and eggs. Fresh juices and yoghurts. Just perfect for us! There is also an onsite bar area with an honesty system, write down what you use and pay at the end. Stocked fridges with wine, beers, soft drinks, water and snacks such as crisps/sweets/nuts/. Outside space: Mature gardens around 1 acre of space, the breakfast room opens on to the outside breakfast eating space with running water and relaxing music. beautifully decorated and clean. There are many hammocks, sun loungers and a stunning pool. The mountains and valleys are the garden backdrop.

I wouldn't change a thing.

The property was a real oasis of peace and tranquility. The breakfast was simply Devine, freshly baked cakes daily by the amazing staff. Our room had a huge balcony that looked over the pool which was wonderful for an early evening drink. Would go back in a heart beat.

The sun beds were quite uncomfortable, if I were to do anything to make this beautiful hotel a bit more comfortable it would be to up grade the sun loungers and add a few more beds into the stunning garden areas.

Our room Las Palmeras was fairly basic/rustic but had a huge terrace overlooking the pool, the surrounding trees and with a view to the mountains behind Albir. The pool is lovely as are the many varied plants around it. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are charming and very helpful. We walked up to Albir every morning - a 10-15 minute walk uphill. A couple of times we walked down to the seafront followed by a much slower walk back up the hills & steps!

Paradise was really good, we had a lovely couple of days celebrating our diamond wedding anniversary ❤️ the breakfast was superb 👌 and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Little things made it special like home made cakes always available. We are coming back in September and bringing friends along too as we have really recommend the hotel and we can't wait until the next visit

I cant think of one thing I didn't like

Perfect friendly staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Breakfast was quirky and homemade cakes were made daily. There was an honesty bar which was super helpful as no shops nearby. Rooms were quirky ours did not have a balcony but we did not mind as the pool was fabulous. The grounds had areas of peaceful beds or chairs for dozing or contemplation. Very ZEN

Only issue would be location without a car. We went on a super busy weekend so taxis an issue.

This little spot really is paradise. The care taken with the gardens and pool area to create a little slice of bliss is wonderful. The whole hotel has so much thought put into it, the staff are lovely and so kind and helpful and the breakfast is so delicious! We had some wonderful peaceful times enjoying the pool and garden areas and because there are only a few rooms you are never fighting for a lounger which makes it even better!

There's nothing bad at all to say. I would say if you have mobility issues you may want to look at a car or using taxis to get into the town, but we found the walk enjoyable (less than 10 min to the top of the old town). Taxis are easy to get if you did need them though. And you wouldn't get the beautiful gardens and pool that this places has right in the middle of the town, so that's a compromise I'd definitely be very happy with!

One of the best parts of the stay was the fresh breakfast every morning, a healthy balanced breakfast was thoughtfully and carefully laid out each morning a perfect way to start the day. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful it truly feels like a tropical paradise hidden away in the dry rolling hills of Valencia, I think my girlfriend and I counted 6 different fruit plants and trees around the area. The location was fantastic only a 15 minute walk from the city center of Altea and 20 minutes from the beach. Finally the staff was super attentive, polite and welcoming, particularly the front desk attendant who also was in charge of making up our rooms and cooking the wonderful breakfast spread which involved freshly baked goods every morning 10/10

Absolutely amazing – the most relaxed I have felt in a long time!! The pool and gardens are stunning and the lady who prepared the breakfast was extremely helpful and kind. Very clean premises and they have done their best to prevent mosquitoes.

Everything is amazing but I (personal preference) don’t care too much for the caged birds in the garden. I don’t think they are necessary and as the hotel is adults only, I don’t think many adults would care for it either.

Quirky as per a number of reviews but excellent room , good aircon, good bathroom with walk in shower. Excellent breakfast cooked to order by the lovely Arranza who made the visit for us

Was worried about the open car park but no problems . Honesty bar , a good idea but no whiskey in the bottles but otherwise fun .

Hotel Altea Paradise 1917 is located just outside the city of Altea. The center is about a 15min walk away with various restaurants and shops nearby. The property benefits from its own carpark and is in quiet location. The room was clean with a comfortable double bed and we had an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Towels were changed daily and the bed made every morning. The breakfast was delicious. You get eggs and pancakes made to order and a variety of breads and cakes. There is a ham and cheese platter and fresh tomato salsa. We stayed during the orange season and were offered fresh orange juice from oranges grown in the garden The garden is what really makes this property stand out. There is a swimming pool (we stayed in March so haven't used it), and multiple areas to sit and relax and enjoy the views.
