The Hostal is centrally located and close to all amenities like the metro, restaurants, supermarkets and touristic sites. The staff are good and everything is well organized.

The internet service is horrible!.it was extremely poor and inaccessible in the room. Only available at the communal place which really sucks. There is need for management to look into this problem and rectify by upgrading the internet service because alot depends on the internet these days.

The location is great, we arrived early so it was nice to see that the rooms actually get thoroughly cleaned. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. If I’m in Barcelona again I would stay here again.

Even though it was clean, we dealt with 2 roaches. The staff was great except for one lady who was pretty rude and ignored us multiple times, and I mean we were right in front of her talking to her and she just stayed silent and then made calls. Very unprofessional.

Staff was very friendly, the room was clean and quiet. There is easy access to the metro and is a few minutes away from Casa Mila and Sagrada Familia. If you know Spanish, you won't have problem. I arrived after check-in hours, so I had to go to a location 2 minutes away to collect my key, but they send you an email with the address beforehand.

There were major problems with the WIFI, it cut out a few times. Also, not sure why, but my room did not have a bin, though there is one in front of the desk.

Room is clean. It has TV, full length mirror, wardrobe with hangers, hair dryer, 6 power points, a small table and chair, and 4 pillows. They provided 2 bath towels, 1 face towel, 2 small bottles of shower gel, 2 rolls of toilet paper. Wifi connection was good. There is no lock for the room door from the inside. There is no lock for toilet door too. I was able to hear our neighbours getting back to their room and talking. Room was cleaned daily. Our flight was delayed. We arrived after 3.30pm. As such, reception was closed and we proceeded to Hostel Argo (a 2-min walk away from Martinval) to collect our key. Instructions were clear. Hostel Argo staff member was friendly and he spoke good English making it easier for us to understand him. We were given a key to open the front gate and a card for our room door. The lift is an antique. Good experience despite its ultra small size. We managed to get our luggages in the lift. Used the stairs throughout our stay. There are several 24hr supermarkets within 10min walk. Spar supermarket is located on the right of Martinval but it is opened 9am-9.30pm. Beer at approx €0.62 and 1.5l mineral water at €0.25. There is a local mercat opposite Argo hostel. Cod dishes are great and there are many other food stalls. We stayed 3N in Double bed with balcony room for 2pax. We booked 2 months ahead of travel. Upfront payment is needed to secure the booking. We paid €18.18 for taxes when we arrived. Good value for money hostel at a great location.

Not recommended for those allergic to dust as there are thick dust on the lift and stairs railings as well as room balcony railings.

Location, cleaning, shower, free coffee and water

There's little sound isolation between rooms, the doors are not easy to close from the outside which results in guests exiting and making a lot of noise in the morning while you're sleeping. Also, if the room near you is using the shower, it makes a lot of noise

Close to the main attractions. Safe area. We were able to check in late. And leave the key early in the morning. The receptionist is super nice. They clean the room everyday.

The building and the room had a smell. I asked the receptionist and he said it’s the air conditioning. It’s an old building with centralized AC so it has some smell.

Localization of the place is amazing. Also the facilities of the hostal, cleaning and information gave by the people that worked there were excelent. We just loved staying there and for sure we want to get back when in BCN.

The mattress we slept could have been a little more comfortable. Besides that we do not have complaints.

Reception is working very well. They helped us about everything. Location is at good point to Sagrada Familia it will take 8 minutes by walking. They gave us Bigger and having 4 beds Room eben though we booked only for 2 people / 1 Large bed. Air conditioner is working very well and in august it ws so cold at night eith air con. I thing ı would have stayed again if i have came here.

Good for price. Perfect location, you can walk to the center. Nice building. Wi-fi really works! Large room. Beautiful balcony. Cabinet for coats. Cleaning service and fresh towels every day. Staffs speaks english. The nearest shop and restaurant are in the same block.

There’s no big problems, but: Only 1 key for 2 visitor. The reception was in a different address at evening. No clear signs to the right place. You can hear some sounds from the street or from the next room. You can find some hair in towels. The water temperature varied in the shower. Cold tile floor (we visited in the winter.) You had to use the heating system yourself. Little space for your own stuff. No personal fridge or safe. No breakfast. The bed was hard.

The hotel is splendid in terms of location and clean.

the biggest problem is that the air conditioner does not work, especially since my stay was so long that I had to buy an electric fan, also the room is so narrow that it cannot accommodate more than one person.
