I personally liked the room, it exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was superb and the dining staff are all accommodating. The location as well, it is a very strategic place. Very near to Metro, Tourist Attractions, Shops & groceries. For a 4 star hotel, it is very affordable.

The only thing that I noticed is that noise from other rooms can be clearly heard. Check-in time: noticed that other guests are being checked-in before us, which is quite puzzling. They told us check-in time is 3pm, but other guests have been allowed to check-in from past 2pm onwards. We intended to get checked-in past 2pm as it mentioned in Booking.com, but they said that "our room is not yet ready".

Hotel Balmoral December 23-29, 2024 We CANNOT say enough about Hotel Balmoral, Barcelona! Our family of 11 spent our Christmas 2024 holiday in this beautiful city and our hotel was in the middle of everything! We were welcomed into this 4-star gem by a lovely aroma that was present each time we entered and exited. The staff, particularly Antonio, Marcus and Manuel, were very pleasant and accommodating. They allowed us to store our luggage until check-in time, provided directions, secured taxis and recommended restaurants.  The hotel was clean, quiet and spacious enough for our belongings. There was a store right next door where we could grab quick items such as water and snacks. The bar staff was friendly and the dining room meals were really good! Hotel Balmoral was very cost comparable or better based on US standard. They assured that our five guests rooms were together in one wing, making it easy to traverse between rooms and ensuring safety within our group. The indoor and outdoor holiday decor were a constant and welcoming reminder of the holiday season. The hotel room key card provided specific and helpful guest information. This was useful to us as we adjusted our itinerary throughout the week. On our next trip to Barcelona, we are planning to stay at Hotel Balmoral and will recommend it to anyone heading that way!

Great location for first time visit to Barcelona, hotel situated within easy reach of all public transport so we go to see a lot of the city in a few days. The hotel staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.

On arrival at the hotel (during the European heat bomb) we discovered the hotel had lost power and there was no lighting or air con so the first night was challenging and not particularly restful after a day travelling, the issue was fixed during the following day. The rest of the stay was excellent, would recommend this hotel when visiting Barcelona.

I spent three nights at Balmoral Hotel during my solo travel in April 2025. It was a smooth experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. My room did not have any windows, but it was okay as I was out exploring throughout the day. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was also satisfying.. The hotel is located in a great location. It is very close to Diagonal L3 metro line. If you arrive at Plaça de Catalunya, you can either take the 22 or 24 bus or the metro to arrive at the hotel. There is a bus station right to the hotel. Thank you Balmoral Team for making my stay a memorable experience. I hope to be back in the near future. 😊

This was the second stay at this hotel. We knew what to expect, and it was like expected. No surprises. More important, our trip was cut short by one day due to strike of Lufthansa. When we requested for a change, they only asked that we make the request officially through booking and then when they received the request, they made the change and refunded us the amount corresponding to the last day. Other than that, we love the location as it is close to the Gracia neighbourhood with a lot of small boutiques, wine and vermout bars. Close to metro, and also possible to walk all the way to the center of Barcelona.

We originally got one of the smaller rooms that are in the back side - but when we asked for a room change, we were lucky there was one available and they grant us our request.

Hotel Balmoral is a very classy hotel! We chose to stay here because we were taking a Gate1 Tour for a couple weeks and we were accommodated with an extra 3 nights in the same room (without having to switch). The staff has been very friendly and the room is very big for the 2 of us and the amenities are exceptional. The buffet breakfast too is outstanding, amazing and delicious!!! Kudos to Gate1 for choosing Hotel Balmoral for our stay! The location is easy to get to from the Metro and visiting Barcelona for the very first time has been memorable because of our stay here!

The hotel is located in a very pleasant uptown area surrounded by shops, not far from the Gaudi's Casa Mila and Casa Batlo. Placa de Catalunya will be 30 min walk or 2 stops by metro. The breakfast is quite rich with vegetable and fruits, as well as some national dishes. The rooms are properly equipped. The reception personnel was amazing.

The sound of the metro could be disturbing, but as I sleep in the earplugs, for me it was not an issue. My colleagues did complain about the noise both from the metro and from the busy street. The pillows could be more comfortable.

The staff were unfailingly helpful, friendly and polite. They speak excellent English. The hotel is well-presented, with modern, clean lines in the decor. The staff were willing to change my friend's room (separate booking) when she found that it was too small and lacked some of the facilities that were in my room (even though both were at the same price). The bedroom windows open so that you can have fresh air.

My friend (separate booking) had a much smaller room without a desk and chair. The reception staff were willing to move her to a better room. My room was fine, but if I'd been staying longer, I would have regretted the lack of natural light (the window faced, at close quarters, the wall of another large building). Other travellers should perhaps be aware that some rooms are quite small and therefore can't accommodate eg a desk and chair. It would be wise to check how big the room is and what is in it before booking, or by contacting the hotel before arrival. Barcelona is a very expensive city and the price of the room reflected this.

The hotel was clean and well-maintained, with a spacious bathroom and excellent facilities that added to the comfort of my stay. Its location is another highlight—conveniently situated and perfect for exploring the city. Overall, a wonderful choice for a comfortable and well-located stay in Barcelona!

The only small downside was that our room was on the first floor, so we couldn’t enjoy the views from the room. However, this didn’t take away from the overall quality of the stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona!

Location. For city break and walking lover this location is really good - 6-7 minutes walking from Diagonal metro station. One step from Diagonal Avenue. 30-40 minutes walking from Sagrada. Ca 1 hour walk to La Rambla, Arc de Triomf or to Palau Montjuic. Managed to see a lot within two days!!! Cleanliness - in the room, bathroom, restaurant and lobby is absolutely 5 of 5. Really well done!. Staff - kind and professional, making me feel being welcome in the hotel. Breakfast - worth to add it in, fresh and tasty food, quite a variety that satisfy any stomach. Selection of lactose free milks for the coffee or cereal is a great idea. I enjoyed very much cappuccino with mini croisant and mini choco cupcake - so nice to start a day of!!! Bed - really good mattress and pillow so I slept like a baby without any pain in my back or neck when I woke up! Inyerriir decor/design - I really like it, perfect mix of traditional with modern hotel design, not overwhelming but pleasant.

Really minor stuff: What I missed in a room is a chair to sit on at a desk - in my room it was only one seatbox where we could place bed pillows but we missed any more place to sit (other than bed). And small thing - I know that cleaners are doing great job, but it'd be good to have toilet brush in a toilet to clean after ourselves.
