From the time we stepped into the hotel, to checking in, and entering our room, everything was perfection! We thoroughly enjoyed our hotel room and the view from the balcony was amazing! We were guided by concierge (Xavi, apologies if I misspelled his name) on the best way to explore the city! The doormen were very courteous as well. Breakfast was amazing! So fresh, so delicious! Staff were so welcoming and accommodating!

Staff are fantastic - even whrn w ehad a cup of tea in the restaurant we were treated really nicely by the gentleman in the restaurant bar area. The foyer team always made us feel they new us and were very attentive. Location of the Monument is unbeatable for a long weekend in Barcelona where one can walk to most of the key sites. Bathrooms were immacultately clean. Bedroom was always well turned out. The breakfasts were perfect and table service was attentive and friendly.

The TV kept rebooting but it got sorted. Clarity on availabilty of evening meals/restaurant.

From the moment we arrived at the Monument Hotel until we checked out, the service was exceptional. The staff was warm, welcoming and they could not do enough for us. They helped with lost luggage, dinner reservations, and local recommendations. Our party of 5 loved our double suite, especially the extra bathrooms. The hotel is elegant and smells delicious all the time! Breakfast in the morning was also fresh, delicious and excellent, with plenty of gluten free options. The location was perfect, in the middle of everything which made it easily walkable. The view from the rooftop bar was beautiful and a great place for an afternoon drink. We loved everything about this hotel. A special thank you to Xavi, Marta and Carlos for making our stay so easy and memorable.

We chose this based on the reviews and Monument did not disappoint. 1) This was our second hotel in Barcelona and we wanted to be in this area for the food, shopping be closer to Segrada by foot. But still relatively close if we wanted to head back to the beach or gothic quarters 2) Staff from the moment you walk in were spectacular, friendly and always willing to help and go beyond 3) Food was great, we only ate at the rooftop, lunch/dinner and breakfast daily, again, staff went beyond courteous, and selection was far better than the previous hotel we stayed at

1) Not a big deal, but their was no ground floor lounge area, we were told it's under construction so we look forward to future visits 2) Gym was a tad small, had the basics, 3 cardio and some weights. Treadmill wasn't working though. Otherwise, it was accessible pretty much earlier morning to late evening.

The concierge and butlers are consummate professionals who ensured all our needs were taken care of. So impressed with them! A joy to see every morning before heading out. As a matter of fact, ALL staff from reception to bartender to room service are exceptional. Also, location in beautiful Eixample off Paseo de Gracia is unbeatable.

Room a wee bit small for a junior suite.

Pros: The staff was very welcoming and attentive, particularly Jorge at the front door. The room was spacious and comfortable. It boasted two balconies facing the corner of Passeig de Gracia, which was great. The A/C worked very well. The bed, pillows, and linens were very comfortable. Location is excellent, close to top-notch restaurants and sites of interest, such as Casa Milo/La Pedrera, Casa Batllo, and designer shops. The rooftop was fun and the food/drinks were excellent. Breakfast was also great--the pastries were particularly exceptional. The hotel boasts two Michelin-rated restaurants (Lasarte, with 3 stars, and Oria, with 1 star), not to be missed for foodies. Will definitely return.

Cons: The TV was difficult to navigate. Water dripped outside of the shower when showering.

We highly recommend The Monument Hotel! It’s rare for us to leave a hotel without any major suggestions for improvement, but our stay here was truly excellent. From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their competence and the prompt, smooth check-in process. Our room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully sound-insulated, and we loved having our own private balcony. A thoughtful bonus was the complimentary selection of juices, soft drinks, and popcorn in the mini-bar—a really nice touch. Breakfast was definitely a highlight. They served one of the best Eggs Benedict we've ever had, alongside delicious pastries, fresh granola, and excellent coffee. Although I was initially disappointed that the mixed juices I had been looking forward to weren’t available, the staff went above and beyond by preparing a special ginger and lemon tea for me instead. Overall, The Monument Hotel offered a memorable and luxurious stay. We would absolutely return!

The only minor downsides were a leaky toilet and the dry iron (we personally prefer a steam iron), but these small issues didn’t take away from an otherwise wonderful experience.

We stayed on the first floor and it was really hard to sleep because of the metro.
