This is a fantastically located guesthouse with everything on your doorstep, or at least a brief walk away. Check in was simple, good communication from the team at the guesthouse - you have pay a city tax on arrival so someone is there to greet you, give you keys and give you a brief tour. All very easy. The room itself was average sized but perfect for two people, a small balcony overlooking the street below was a nice touch. The room was basic but had what you needed - comfy beds, a wardrobe, a simple TV. The rest of the facilities are 'shared' however don't let this put you off - across the corridor outside the rooms are two shower rooms and two toilets - in the 5 days we were there we never waited one for either of these. Shower Ge and shampoo in the showers too. In addition there is a kitchen and dining area where you can prepare your own food if you like, you're even allocated a shelf in the fridge for use! In terms of location this is fantastic - you are in the university area so you are surrounded by nice bars and restaurants, for those interested the gay area is a short 5 minute walk away - indeed many of the BCN Pride events were nearby which was a nice touch. You can reach the top of La Rambla in 3-4 minutes walk. All very walkable although Barcelona has a fantastic transport network to use if you prefer. I see some reviewers have mentioned noise - its true. There are 3 noises you hear in Barcelona - sirens, horns beeping or bikes 'tringing' - but you have to appreciate your in the middle of a major city, its unavoidable. If you're a light sleeper, pack earplugs. Also, one last thing - it was 30 plus degrees in Barcelona during my visit and pleased to report the air con was great.

- the cleaning of rooms / provision of fresh towels was very hit and miss. Id have liked a cupboard full of fresh towels for everyone to use. - the TVs need an upgrade to include the ability to stream / use apps like Netflix etc - the noise may put some off particularly if you live in the suburbs usually and are used to zero noise at night. If you live in a city already it won't bother you. Also the walls are thin and the doors slam a lot. All of the above said, id 100% stay here again next time im in Barcelona :)

I really enjoyed my stay at the guest house. The location is great! It’s a shared apartment with in my case 4 guest rooms total, sharing 2 bathrooms. I didn’t need the kitchen but it’s there free to use if you need it. I had no issues with bathroom availability at all, they were also cleaned daily. And there is central air conditioning which in this 30 degree heat is very comfortable.

The only negative thing is that the walls are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbor watching tv or talking on the phone. It didn’t really bother much though, ear plugs are provided for anyone who needs it.

They have several apartments, we were staying in Balmes 2, overall good quality furnished, bed and pillows are comfortable. Has 2 cabinet good water pressure shower cabinets. WC is separate and has 2. Great location, easy access to public transport ie metro Universitat, city tour bus, good ambiance restaurants around. Will recommend this Super Balmes to friends and family.

AC in room 210 wasn’t working very well. For all the loud noisy banging doors, including the main heavy timber main entrance, maybe they should think about putting foam absorber on the door frames. As it resonant really loud the whole buildings, we can even hear the door close up banging not only from doors of the apartment itself and also door from neighbor apartments as well.

Met by representative of host. Excellent location near Plaza Catalunya. A loud corner of a busy street, but generally not a problem later at night or during the morning. Large and comfortable bed. Common toilets and showers kept very clean, no problem to take shower or go to toilet when desired. Generally very quiet, although when loud talking next door, it was audible. There is Large kitchen (which I did not need). Check out very easy.

No instructions on how operate heating (split unit),, and no reception on duty in the hotel. I woke up freezing in the middle of the night to adjust but could not figure out how to adjust. Host offered to come in an show me but as I was out all day, we could not meet. (Perhaps they came in and turned on the heat because I did not freeze the rest of the stay.

The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly, super positive and helpful. The guest house itself is clean, all the rules and conditions are explained in details and followed thoroughly. The kitchen has all the stuff you need and shared bathroom, if someone is concerned, is absolutely not a problem, as there never was an occasion, in which there were no free room in there. From the location itself any transport to any part of the city is in reach, which is perfect if you are planning a lot of exploration in or outside the city!

The AC, while working perfectly, used to make a weird and pretty loud sound once every 20-30 minutes.

The staff was very friendly and responded to our messages promptly. The room and shared bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Location is great, with many restaurants nearby. Within walking distance of many attractions.

They charge a fee for late check in. It can be up to 75 euros. Thats crazy! Be aware of this extra cost if you arrive after 20:30. The room is quite noisy at night, especially on weekends. They provide earplugs. Better use them!

It was well located and near the apartment my daughter was moving into. It was very clean and while I was nervous about staying with other people the other guests were very pleasant and generally quiet

I thought we had confirmed I could use the washer. Apparently guest or not allowed to use the washer. For extended stays I have to stay someplace where I can do laundry. Apparently the staff cleans the units linens in the washer and then I guess they take them somewhere for drying. So I would probably return there except for that

The location is perfect. Everything is close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the shared toilet was clean (the first time we stay in a house with a shared bathroom). Something that I would advise you to add to the room would be slippers to move inside the house. The room is small but it is very sufficient for the location it is. You are located in the city center and it is very easy to walk around and enjoy the city of Barcelona. If I come back to Barcelona, ​​I will definitely come back again.

There were 5 rooms in the apartment, and the people were very loud opening and closing (slamming) doors up to 4am.. The bathroom is on the other side of the apartment and the lift only worked once of the 5 days I was there.. I had to climb 100 stairs every day uo and down.

The guest house is located just a few blocks off Plaza Catalunya, making it an easy place to stay for anyone taking the Aerobus to/from the airport. The common spaces are shared but cleaned daily. Wifi and air conditioning worked well. Check in was easy, the hosts were easy to contact and quick to respond.

One of the showers was slow to drain, but the hosts fixed it in within 24 hours. The kitchen could use paper towels to make it easier to clean up after use of the common space.
