This is an excellent hotel to stay The One night and catch the train the following day. Fantastic breakfast. Good food menu, available until late. Good size room, with all the basic needs covered. Very comfortable bed. Staff were attentive and responsive (they provided new towels after our loose shower head went rogue and sprayed water all over our shower/bath towels).

The hotel seems to be made of papier-mâché. You can hear everything: hallways (people chatting), next room (people coughing, television), and above room (people walking around). The location next to busy roads also meant that there was traffic noise all the time, including at night. There was a very strong smell of cigarettes coming from a room that was on the way to our room, which suggests the no-smoking policy is either not enforced or non-enforceable.

Great location if you are taking a long distance train as the hotel is located right next to the train station. Check in was fast and staff was friendly and professional. The room was surprisingly large, well furnished and comfortable bed. This is a great value for money stay.

The suite was amazing. Very spacious with great views of the city. The terrace was a good place to read or just relax. The king size bed was very comfortable and it felt so good. We stayed for 6 days completely comfortable. Strong WiFi throughout. Easy access to the train station and to Chamartín metro. Linea 10 metro took us to the city in 8-10 min or less There are nice restaurants nearby but you can also take linea 10 ( Blue) & go eat elsewhere. Fully recommend.

There's no WC at the lobby! Why not have a small WC at the lobby for people traveling after hours or for small children or people with prostate problems. Oh yes, there's a bathroom " For the staff only" Really? How about other folks with human body emergency needs? " Upstairs but it closes at 12 midnight" Really? Tell that to a human body that can't wait for the elevator, go up then run a long hallway to arrive in their room. No wonder people told us to " Pee in the streets!" Well, some of us are not used to peeing " Anywhere"

Given the hotel is located in the Chamartin train station, making connections to the Metro, Rail and Bus transit routes was very easy. The hotel was well insulated from any traffic noise. Once in the hotel one would not know they were in a train station as the windows faced the city. The hotel had a lot of space with a large restaurant area, plus lots of free tables and chairs outside the rooms where clients could work on their computers. The staff were very helpful. They answered my email inquiries and ensured that we got the bed types we requested. They also held a parcel delivery for us until we arrived. We would happily stay there again and probably will.

There is no coffee maker in the room, but there is a Starbucks machine down in the lobby. The breakfast is expensive compared to some other buffet breakfasts we have had in other Spanish hotels.

Location great as a stopover on way to coast. Staff were welcoming, professional and helpful. We did not have the breakfast but the room itself was very clean, comfortable and provided all we needed. The only negative we experienced was fact that the taxi driver who took us to Madrid Atocha charged us an extra 12 euros on top of the meter charge of 33 euros claiming the extra was a tax charged by the hotel and the city. We do not know whether this was a genuine reason or whether it was taking advantage of tourists who are strangers to the city. We were told that the other station was a 15 min walk away but due to health reasons I cannot walk that far dragging a heavy suitcase. I feel other tourists should be aware of the extra costs and told before using the taxis. In the Rome to Rio app cost is only estimated to be between 12 and 15 euros. We were charged 45 euros.

The hotel was clean, the room was good size, spotless with good beds. Also sufficient space for clothes etc. We had a room high up with view over the city. Breakfast with a variety of foods. Service friendly and efficient. Location optimal for long distance trains to / from Chamartin station.

High prices for the weekend. Madrid City centre is some distance away and the business district not so attractive for tourist. While proximity to train station is an asset, it is also a downside. The immeadiate surroundings outside the hotel were not so nice, especially in the evening.

The bed was comfortable, I slept well. The shower was fantastic and almost made up for the fact that I had to wake up so early. I didn’t want the shower to end. There are lots of restaurants and a Mercadona grocery store close by. I will stay again when I need to be close to the train station or for an easy trip to Barajas Airport.

There was no overhead lighting, and the LED has a cold tone which I think is disagreeable. There wasn’t enough lighting. Also black walls may not show dirt, but they are very, very ugly.

'Hotel Chamartin The One' is located immediately above Madrid Chamartin railway station. It is therefore very convenient if you have a train to catch and / or need rapid access to Madrid airport. The railway journey to the airport (Terminal 4) only takes fifteen minutes. It is also close to the main business district. I like this hotel because it is clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly. It is a good, functional hotel.

None of these are criticisms - just things to be aware of. The hotel can be quite noisy with people arriving late and leaving early. I always ask for a quiet room away from the lifts and the staff are obliging. There is also a nightclub close by which plays 'headache' music on Thursdays to Saturdays until the small hours of the following morning. Finally, the hotel is a long way from the main sites of Madrid; in some cases three or four miles on the metro.
