The location is just across from the Chamartín train station which was an easy walk over with luggage and kids (if you have a lot of baggage you’ll walk a bit further to take the escalators.) We paid for included breakfast and it was well worth it. It couldn’t have been lovelier. My husband and I are on high protein diets and had an easy time, they had the fixings for mimosas, different juices, high quality coffee, hot foods and a large selection of pastries, breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and our children’s favorite a “Nutella-like” pump dispenser with little glass bowls to fill. The pool was large and clean. Our beds were comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. We liked the layout of the family rooms with bunk-beds. Our son got sick, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating.

The air conditioner made noise but did not seem to actually cool the room (901). We didn’t mention it as we were only there for one night and I suspect it’s our American expectations. It was cool enough for Europeans. The dial did go to 0 Celsius but it stopped working around 22 degrees. There is no room service and the dinner in the restaurant does not begin until 8pm (culturally appropriate but inconvenient for us with kids- if you eat earlier know you’ll need other arrangements.) The pool hours were noon-9pm - which is just something to know.

The hotel is ideally located if you arrive or depart from Madrid Chamartín station. It is only a few minutes' walk away. The neighborhood looks much better and safer compared to other neighborhoods near big train stations in major cities. The staff is polite, especially the girl at the reception; I think her name is Isabela. The room, including the bathroom, is spacious and clean, with all the necessary amenities, although a bit outdated. The pool is big. The metro station is fairly close. The vending machine with electronic items is a good addition to the lobby.

I'm not nit-picky and find food good in most 3-star hotels, but that was not the case here. The buffet breakfast was included, and I paid extra for the buffet lunch. The price is reasonable, and the variety is fantastic. But I was shocked at how tasteless (almost) everything was. The ingredients are top-notch, but the food is lukewarm and without any flavor. I tried almost everything on offer because I couldn't believe so many good ingredients were wasted. The hotel obviously doesn't skimp on ingredients and variety, but something is wrong with the food preparation. Desserts, pastries, jamon, and chorizo ​​are nice, but I guess those types of food can't be ruined.

Our room located on the 10th floor of the building. Great view of the fourth towers and the mountains. Our room was large, clean and the mattresses were comfortable. The hotel is located in front of Chamartin Station with 2 metros going straight to Plaza de Espana or Sol in 20min. The complimentary breakfast/buffet is complete with a large choice of sweet and salty options. Public Parking below the hotel with direct access (41€ 3 days)

Being on the 10th floor means that you have to wait some time to catch an elevator when it's busy. No kettle in the room.

The staff (reception, restaurant) is really helpful and solve issues quickly. Cleaning staff really kind and supportive including their manager. Breakfast and lunch buffet were also good with a variety of dishes. Very good location next to a main train station.

First room was a bit warm and the cool system is not activated. The floor was not polished which doesn’t provide a nice appearance. Fortunately, they moved me for the last two nights to another much more pleasant. As it was a Christmas holiday on the 8 it was a bit noisy. Guests tend to forget that must be quiet after 10 pm. Nonetheless, the reception staff helped in both situations. It was also a long line to access the restaurant as the capacity of it is limited for the amount of guests when is busy time. Same with lifts.

Just a brief walk from Charmatin station/metro, this was really convenient for me and my travels. It looks a very average towerblock from the outside but once you're inside it is really very pleasant. The receptionists were polite and efficient with excellent English, and my room was large and modern and airy if a little plain and characterless. The bathroom was nice and big and bright too. The beds were 2 separate ones pushed together (I had asked for a double) and were on wheels on a wood-style floor so moved a little when you turned over a night. Three lifts serve the tower so one does not take long to arrive. The breakfast (which was in the room price) was really excellent - huge, varied, tasty, fresh and all-you-can-eat - one of the best I've had in a hotel with very efficient staff that cleared tables almost instantly as you left. Great value for Madrid.

The hotel is located at an excellent location, in a walking distance from the Chamartin train station. So, connectivity to any part of the city is no problem. Besides, the rooms are very spacious with very good maintenance and cleanliness. The staff is very cooperative, humble and hospitable.

I just want to point out that the internet speed in the rooms was very slow, the gym is not maintained well as even the treadmill was not working. Besides kindly keep more options for vegans in the breakfast like just some more veggies like cucumber and paprika. At least people not consuming meat, fish or eggs can have a basic sandwich and some kidney beans along with baked beans so that it can provide protein intake options for vegetarians.

Lovely big room. Very close to Chamartin station which was useful as we had an early train from there. Lots of choice for breakfast. 3 lifts so usually not a long wait for one of them to arrive. Comfortable beds. Probably best on the north side of the hotel as I suspect rooms on the south side would get hot in summer.

No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Lack of carpets in the rooms meant some disturbance from people with clunky shoes in the room above.

I always stay at Melia Chamartín when I travel with family.It's conveniently located by the Chamartín station and metro line. It's clean, has good sized rooms and has an excellent breakfast buffet. The Spanish products are very good quality (I'm a picky Spaniard). The staff are kind and helpful. Tip: if you are coming with luggage or have mobility issues don't go through the main entrance of the hotel. Before you hit the stairs there is a ramp on the left (look for the sign) to access elevators.

The rooms we stayed in were clean, pleasant and spacious. Though we had asked for our rooms to be next to each other, the hotel missed that detail for the first night. But for the second night, they moved one of our rooms so that we were right next door. The location of the hotel is ideal to catch the 1 line of the metro into the downtown part of Madrid. However, the commute was about 25 minutes. If we visit Madrid again, we did agree to book hotels earlier to get something closer to Plaza del Sol, which is in the heart of touristy Madrid. We still had a lovely experience, and 25 minutes wasn't horrible. It just meant less convenience for returning to the hotel throughout the day for breaks or to drop things off.

The breakfast was not our favorite, though we were grateful to have this option included. Maybe the food simply wasn't prepared to our liking. But the food area was clean and organized, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast opened at 7:00am.

The staff were so accommodating and very helpful. Truly made me feel welcomed. Margarita in the main dining room on the second day already knew my favorite table. As a solo traveler I was so touched and thankful for this gesture. I have stayed in many hotels and their breakfast buffet was superb. Everything was fresh, made daily and delicious. They made this almond cakes one day then the next day a carrot cake. Truly delightful. I liked having a 5 minutes walk to the metro. The hotel is situated in what would be described as a neighborhood felt safe all the time. They allow me to check in early for 15 euros which was fine because I arrived at 10 AM.

I didn’t like the 10 euro charge for a pool towel, which is refundable . After I arrived at the pool I had to return to my room to get the cash.
