A very beautiful building in an Amazing location , very good breakfast (the coffee is one of the best hotel-coffees we had), food eg burger we tried was really delicious . Super relaxing moments at the garden having beers. Staff were very friendly as well. There is much area to park for free and safe.

Rooms need urgently a renovation. The humidity is high due to the river , and the rooms were smelling.

This is a great old hotel. Large room was warm and welcoming. The restaurant gave us a fabulous 3 course meal for a reasonable price. We spent an hour in the spa. Staff were very helpful. Lovely location by the river. We drove here after a day in Bilbao and stayed for one night as we were heading to France.

Wonderful art deco hotel,getting a little tired but for the price it was a great place to stay. The food in the restaurant and bar area was excellent value for money and well executed. The spa was really good and invigorating. The architecture was fantastic if you like Art Deco ,beautiful corridors. All in all a very pleasant stay

There was nothing to dislike unless you were particularly fussy. You get what you pay for and it was excellent value for money

We loved the hotel. We traveled on our bikes and arrived after a day of riding in the rain. The staff was kind and accommodating. The breakfast was great. We loved the spa. The surrounding town is beautiful and the cave museum is very interesting.

It's all a little outdated as people mentioned in comments before but we were not bothered by it. Definitely has some vibe to it all

Breakfast was very good lots of variation ... not cooked but everything there and more... We really enjoyed the location and the walks round the grounds...we would have liked to have tried the spa but just didn't have time... the dressing gowns and flip flops were already laid out for us...

Value for money.. but the huge building needed a little uplift in places.. but not to ruin it's charm ..

Very romantic/ historical place. There was an issue but the management gave us offers to sort out all. I was able to choose what is more suitable for me and this make my stay easier. Thank you very much for your attitude. Free parking space.

All is very spacious as in the time when it was built. The location is in the forest.

The building, it’s history. It really felt like stepping into another decade, it had a feeling of the Grand Budapest Hotel. Completely was charmed by this place in the middle of the nature. The staff was friendly, and the thermes were really relaxing

Does it need to be renovated? Yes but it’s charm overtook it for me. For people who enjoy a fancy and luxurious holiday, this is not the place to go. For people who love a place with history, and won’t be picky in details, you’ll love this place.

👍Contrary to previous reviews, we found the place clean, great hot running water, quiet, and full of old 19th century character. Yes, many will consider it run down and in need of repairs. But a facelift will translate to increased nightly cost. We were very happy with the off season price that was quoted! Nice buffet breakfast was included.
