The place is very quiet, and a lot of trees and planets are there making the place so beautiful, The staff were very friendly and helpful, The place did have a lot of guests at that time but that was because it was the off season, However, I met some guests, and they were very cool.

The room was quite hot even with two fans, There is no hot water so you gotta use to it. Otherwise the place is very great and worth it

I stayed at Lala's Place in the off season so had the dorm to myself most of the time. It is a lovely place and was excellent value. Lala is really nice. I particularly liked the tropical feel of the common area (except for the mosquitos) and the cute kitten (June 2025). Shared bathrooms are kept clean. Mosquito nets provided Towel provided. I had a power outlet & lamp by my bedand a little wooden locker for valuables. Take bus 388 into town. Spend a day wandering around Galle Fort

Nothing not to like about Lala's Place. Sand gets everywhere because is close to the beach. Mosquitos because Monsoon season. Not much going on locally during off season but you can tell the area comes alive in the high season.

Incredibly child-friendly, showed us to the beach just a short 3-minute walk across the road. Unbeatable price. A cozy haven for relaxation with considerate and helpful hosts.

Bed was uncomfortable. It was not beachfront.

I had an amazing stay at Lala's place. Really surprised by the value for money. I stayed for 2 weeks, lala is an amazing guy who makes you feel at home. It's a great hostel with amazing single rooms where you can meet nice people. The family of Lala is around who make you feel like your at home far away from home. :) The mother of Lala makes the most delicious food. I definitely recommend this place and would not hesitate myself to come back at Lala's place!

I recently stayed at Lala's Place in Boossa, Galle, situated next to Mean Road. This family-run establishment exudes warmth, with friendly locals managing the place. The host provided a cozy 3-bedroom setup, and the open-air common washroom, conveniently located next to the wall, added a unique touch to the experience. Lala's Place also offers private cabanas, providing a more secluded and intimate atmosphere. The on-site restaurant served fantastic food with brilliant flavors, and the prices were reasonable, making it a great value for money. The overall vibe of the place was delightful, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for a memorable stay.

Upon inquiring about extending my stay, the response from the hosts indicated a full booking, though online availability contradicted this information. The lack of transparency left me uncertain about the situation. Consequently, I chose to explore other accommodations the following day, as I sensed an atmosphere not entirely conducive to an enjoyable stay.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in Sri Lanka. It's cheap, clean, spacious, very creative and on top of all it's very unique. It's like you're staying in a jungle or a between nature, with trees and plants around, it's muddy like a beach, you can enjoy if it's raining and much more. Another thing what I loved about this hostel is it's giving you more than what it charges and it's not even a dorm bed rather a big spacious single bed with mosquito net on top , with sheets and charging point next to you. So it's like you have everything you need next to you. They also have single beds and couple bed private rooms. Location wise it's lil far away from Galle city but the location is absolutely great as it's opp to the beach and also located far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended.

What didn't I like? The place was fantastic!! The staff all have beautiful souls with big beautiful smiles!! The food was fantastic! Very homely, I extended my stay!! Great places to lounge around. A small walk to the beautiful beach. But truly the staff went to great lengths to accommodate, organizing massages, popping to the shop, which was just a stones throw away, moving fans about plus more. I have had a brilliant time! I loved it so much!! I stayed in 2 different rooms(due to me not booking in advance), and both were comfy, super clean!

That I couldn't extend for longer!

The place is very well maintained. The garden is beautiful and they clean it every day as well as the bathrooms which are quite spacious. It’s very enjoyable and cozy sitting outside by the garden. It’s conveniently located with cafes, a big local vegetable shop and other small convenience shops around. There’s no much entertainment around but it’s quite close to Galle and easy to take the bus.

It’s next to the main road and I could hear cars passing all the time. Maybe others don’t mind but I prefer nature sounds.

Friendly staff, great value for money. Kindly made me fried rice despite everything being shut. 20 minute bus from galle and hikkaduwa.

Toilet a little far from some individual cabins up the stairs, but I have to go a lot so maybe not a problem for most people. Food in area is quite high price.

Everything was pretty good. The location is not good enough cause you can't find anything there. And cutting a score for the rotwiller or don't know what was the breed of the dog. It came to chase me without any reason. Otherwise everyone was friendly and good. The shower was superb
