I liked almost everything: from the wonderful staff who went out of their way to help me with an issue I had with my phone charger to the beautiful rooms to the outstanding surroundings. Add to that the proximity to one of the best spas in Sri Lanka, an excellent breakfast, and a reasonable price for what you receive, and you get yourself a winner.

This is not what I didn’t like but what visitors should keep in mind: the place is away from the city; so I wish they had more vegetarian options for dinner. That’s all.

The A frame cabana with a patio we stayed in was beautiful and clean. The room is spacious with 2 big beds which made it very comfortable for a family like us to stay in. The staff are just so nice. Location is perfect for a safari. The breakfast and room service food was so fresh and tasty. Such a peaceful place with greenery all around

2 small things which could be sorted easily. Some of the tree branches need to be trimmed or they screech loudly against the metal roof of the cabana when it’s windy. Unfortunately they had a power cut on the first night during our stay due to bad weather and the cabanas don’t have power back up. Other wise the place is perfect

The Gabba resort is a great place to relax while sites seeing in Habarana, we were too busy to use the pool but surrounding is lovely, The girls on reception are helpful and young man who were serving at breakfast was a quick learner for sure, as we had some confusion over breakfast everyday ( however they take the order a night before) after finally we mentioned, it was corrected on our last day. our understanding that the stuff haven't been trained which not fair on them, not good for business! otherwise we enjoyed our stay. lots of restaurants in town specialy Elephant paradise near to our hotel. The spa is over priced.

The resort is beautiful, situated inside a forest with only a few very cool places te sleep. The sleeping buildings were clean, comfortable and big. Sitting ont he porch of our ‘room’ we could see a lot of animals in de forest, especially birds. The staff was very nice (and even made a special breakfast take-out for us when we wanted to get up early to see the sunrise!).

If i need to give some negatives: When it us windy the tree next to our house sometimes hit the roof, which made a lot of noise. Furthermore there was a lot of light in the room early in the morning. However, this was not that big of a deal for us!

During my trip to Polonnaruwa, my car broke down in Habarana, forcing me to stay overnight. I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The room is spacious and clean. The beds and sheets are comfortable. And best of all is the hot water in the shower. It is a really quiet place. And the kids loved the pool and the various swings.

Service is ok. They will react immediately if asked for something. However clearing away empty cups or glasses etc takes time or we eventually did it ourselves. However everyone is really nice. For food we recommend to eat outside there are better options close by. Just 5min walk is a really good restaurant.

I also enjoyed lunch and dinner at the resort, and the food was always varied, tasty, and not too spicy, which I appreciated. I indulged in the spa services, opting for a 3-hour massage that included a steam sauna, shower, and facial. It was a delightful and unique experience that left me feeling rejuvenated. The staff at Gabaa Resort & Spa are exceptionally helpful, kind, and welcoming. They truly make you feel at home and are always available in case you need anything. Despite arriving late, I was warmly greeted with tea and flowers, and upon departure, I received a thoughtful gift which I truly appreciated. My stay was a perfect 10, and I wholeheartedly recommend Gabaa Resort & Spa to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway in Habarana.
