Great location, amazing seeing all the turtles off the beach. Staff mainly very nice and welcoming. Food great.

The staff was the highlight. Each morning we were greeted with a smiling face. walking out of the room, the room boys were kind and bubbly. special mentions go out to Manoj, who took extra care in arranging our room. The security staf were ever helpful and kind. the Restaurant was great, had indoor and outdoor seating and the staff were wonderful. special shoutouts to Renuka who was ever smiling, Sampath who knew my preference for the table and the king coconut glass i drank, and eepa who was always ready to help. Reception was no exception. Thiloochana who took amazing car and showed professionalism and Javisanka who assisted by going the extra step every time. The only downside was the noise outside the room. there were flocks of crows and "Maina birds" and parrots who sang their song from dawn to dusk. even with the terrace door closed, it was noisy enough. The room was large (we were three) and a lovely balcony added to the charm. we asked for a sea-view room and they delivered. At the end of our 10 day stay, they offered a free meal at the dinner buffet and made it special with a poolside table. All in all, we were extremely happy with my stay.

The rooms were great, but the terrace door could be a bit more sound proof. the birds sang and that was noisy, and my downstairs neighbor decided to play loud music on our last day so if the terrace doors were well sound-proofed, this would be much better.

I must admit that before booking Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon, I had some concerns after reading a few negative reviews about it being an old hotel in need of renovation. However, I chose to stay here because my daughter was on a school trip, and this was the hotel selected by her school. I had another option in Hikkaduwa and was unsure if I was making the right choice, but now, after my stay, I can confidently say that Hikka Tranz exceeded my expectations in every way. From the very moment I arrived, the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality of the staff made all the difference. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure a memorable and comfortable stay, and by the time I left, it truly felt like home. The staff’s kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism were outstanding, from the reception to the restaurant, housekeeping, and room service. The hotel was clean, secure, and extremely comfortable, making my stay very pleasant and they respond fast to your requests. The buffet was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of dishes at both breakfast and dinner. As a fan of Sri Lankan cuisine, I enjoyed every single meal over my five-day stay. A special thanks to Ruwan, Sampath, and Sanjeewa in the restaurant, along with all the other staff members who took such great care of us. On top of the wonderful hospitality, I was lucky to participate in releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean, a truly unforgettable experience (thanks to Bandara). I also had the chance to witness a traditional Sri Lankan wedding on my last day, and the bride and groom’s family were incredibly kind, allowing us to watch the ceremony and take some photos, a beautiful memory I will always cherish. P.S. Out of curiosity, I checked out the other hotel I was considering before booking Hikka Tranz, and while it was nice, it felt very ordinary. I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Hikka Tranz, it was the perfect decision, and I feel truly grateful for this experience.

I wouldn’t say I disliked anything, but if I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to renovate the bathrooms to enhance the overall experience. However, this did not affect my stay, as everything else was truly exceptional.

The hotel location is perfect and the beach is amazing. The room is good size but the washroom is small though really small. Breakfast was good and had a good selection but dinner was not that great.

What I didn't like was the staff from the front desk counter did not do a proper check in and thought we are locals when we clearly gave our foreign passports to check in and then on top of that, they thought im the tour guide and driver and my wife and the toddler is who I'm driving around. DO NOT ASSUME LIKE THAT. that is really bad customer service from the front desk staff. and the management needs to train the staff properly from the front desk to the restaurants as they only look at "White people" any one else that is not white they assume everyone is local. realy bad.

Loved this hotel. Perfect place to spend a couple of days to get over the jetlag before travelling around the rest of Sri Lanka. Big pool that the kids loved. And right on the beach which was great for some sea swimming. The buffet was awesome, both breakfast and dinner.

There are people who sell seaweed to tourists right infornt of the hotel to lure the turtles (and other sea creatures, sharks, eels) onto the beach which then becomes a free for all with tourists almost trampling and touching the turtles wihtout any restrictions. This was unpleasent and unethical in my opinion. The government shold do more to control it. Booking.com does not include tax on the price when you book the hotel so expect to another 25% on to your bill. This is so they can advertise the cheapest prices apparently.

A Perfect Getaway at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon! I recently stayed at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and professional. I especially need to mention Ms Vishmi @ front desk, who handled our checking process, the warm welcome she gave us, and my daughter was thrilled to receive the Turtle toy, which she gave, which was a real surprise for her. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were instantly impressed by the hotel’s stunning beachfront location. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with balconies that offer breathtaking views of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset right from our room was truly unforgettable. The hotel has a great range of amenities—an inviting pool, excellent spa services, and multiple dining options. The food was delicious and diverse, with a good balance of local and international cuisine. The breakfast buffet, in particular, was impressive, with fresh fruits, Sri Lankan specialties, and Western favorites. the team at pool bar was very much active in serving their customers they had a very attractive list of cocktails. One of the highlights of our stay was the warm hospitality and friendliness of the entire team. Everyone—from housekeeping to the restaurant staff—went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing retreat or a base for exploring the vibrant town of Hikkaduwa, Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon is the perfect choice. We left with beautiful memories and would definitely love to return! Highly recommended!

First of all, the staff was really nice and helpful from the moment we stepped out of the car to the checking to the checkout next day, they were really wonderful and helpful at all. Everyone on the staff were very friendly and had nice smiles too. The location was great. The breakfast and dinner buffet foods were tasty. For the price point, I'd say this is a good getaway place with a nice sea view that someone might wanna have a take a look.

Well, to be honest, the property is I'd say somewhat outdated from the modern era. Definitely needing some renovations for sure. I've booked two (02) Sea View Rooms and one room was okay and the other had had an issue where few water droplets were seen dropping down from the ceiling making the floor wet. That needs to be taken care of. Also, when it comes to the buffets, It'd be great if some more food varieties can be added including some seafood live station etc. As well. Another thing we really disliked was the wristband at checkin. It was really annoying and I suggest that the property should look for alternative ways in which the guests and other outsiders can be distinguished as the security should not come at a cost of discomfort to the in-house guests.

Best feature is that the turtle beach is right in front, with many turtles that hang out all day. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners are great. In addition to gym, there’s a squash court and table tennis. Music in the evening. Galle is 30mins away in a car. Many restaurants also available just behind the hotel (although walking up and down a busy and fumy road isn’t a nice experience).

The room-to-balcony set up isn’t great but the building is designed that way. The snorkelling gear available at the beach in front of the hotel is limited and isn’t clean. Run by a nice independent person not the hotel, but perhaps hotel can help keep it hygienic and helps the business person too. More options available 500m further North & cheaper and cleaner gear.

The location is just perfect not far from the surrounding area facilities. Very clean and well kept with plenty of staff around to help as and when needed all with a great willing to please attitude. Rooms were big enough with a very nice balcony overlooking the garden and the sea The choice of food was very good both for breakfast and dinner mainly a buffet style for both

The bathroom ventilation was nonexistent and it didn't take much to fog up the room. The AC was not the best and they have to keep a dehumidifier in the room because of the moisture in the room
