Great location, amazing seeing all the turtles off the beach. Staff mainly very nice and welcoming. Food great.

The hotel location is perfect and the beach is amazing. The room is good size but the washroom is small though really small. Breakfast was good and had a good selection but dinner was not that great.

What I didn't like was the staff from the front desk counter did not do a proper check in and thought we are locals when we clearly gave our foreign passports to check in and then on top of that, they thought im the tour guide and driver and my wife and the toddler is who I'm driving around. DO NOT ASSUME LIKE THAT. that is really bad customer service from the front desk staff. and the management needs to train the staff properly from the front desk to the restaurants as they only look at "White people" any one else that is not white they assume everyone is local. realy bad.

I must admit that before booking Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon, I had some concerns after reading a few negative reviews about it being an old hotel in need of renovation. However, I chose to stay here because my daughter was on a school trip, and this was the hotel selected by her school. I had another option in Hikkaduwa and was unsure if I was making the right choice, but now, after my stay, I can confidently say that Hikka Tranz exceeded my expectations in every way. From the very moment I arrived, the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality of the staff made all the difference. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure a memorable and comfortable stay, and by the time I left, it truly felt like home. The staff’s kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism were outstanding, from the reception to the restaurant, housekeeping, and room service. The hotel was clean, secure, and extremely comfortable, making my stay very pleasant and they respond fast to your requests. The buffet was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of dishes at both breakfast and dinner. As a fan of Sri Lankan cuisine, I enjoyed every single meal over my five-day stay. A special thanks to Ruwan, Sampath, and Sanjeewa in the restaurant, along with all the other staff members who took such great care of us. On top of the wonderful hospitality, I was lucky to participate in releasing baby sea turtles into the ocean, a truly unforgettable experience (thanks to Bandara). I also had the chance to witness a traditional Sri Lankan wedding on my last day, and the bride and groom’s family were incredibly kind, allowing us to watch the ceremony and take some photos, a beautiful memory I will always cherish. P.S. Out of curiosity, I checked out the other hotel I was considering before booking Hikka Tranz, and while it was nice, it felt very ordinary. I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Hikka Tranz, it was the perfect decision, and I feel truly grateful for this experience.

I wouldn’t say I disliked anything, but if I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to renovate the bathrooms to enhance the overall experience. However, this did not affect my stay, as everything else was truly exceptional.

Best feature is that the turtle beach is right in front, with many turtles that hang out all day. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners are great. In addition to gym, there’s a squash court and table tennis. Music in the evening. Galle is 30mins away in a car. Many restaurants also available just behind the hotel (although walking up and down a busy and fumy road isn’t a nice experience).

The room-to-balcony set up isn’t great but the building is designed that way. The snorkelling gear available at the beach in front of the hotel is limited and isn’t clean. Run by a nice independent person not the hotel, but perhaps hotel can help keep it hygienic and helps the business person too. More options available 500m further North & cheaper and cleaner gear.

Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon is an excellent choice for a dream getaway by the Indian Ocean. The New Year’s Eve party was exceptionally well-organized, from the stunning decorations and music to the lavish catering, with all praise going to the staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the beach and pools are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sun loungers for relaxation. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Highly recommended for those seeking a complete relaxation!

Every thing was absolutely brilliant. The location was fantastic for us with kids and adults. Staff was very cooperative. We need to celebrate birthday of my daughter-in-law, and especial cooperation provided by Thanuja and Anura in organising, and boys (especially Viraj) at the pool bar is worth mentioning. At the breakfast two ladies did a marvelous job. They are Nandani at Hoppers and subodhani who made omelet. If not the excellent marketing skills by Vinodani, we would not select to stay at Tranz Hikka when we did the planning visit in May 2004. I strongly appreciate her dedication to Tranz Hikka. At the same time, services of Javishanka at reception is worth mentioning.

There was a weekend large local group in the hotel and therefore made bit difficult for other resident guests, especially during the breakfast. I suggest such group should be allocated a separate areas.

The rooms are spacious and come with balconies that offer breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean—waking up to that view each morning was amazing. The staff was exceptionally attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. The hotel has direct access to the beach, where you can swim alongside turtles, which was a truly magical experience. The pool is also fantastic—well-maintained and perfect for a relaxing swim. Overall, this hotel combines great service, stunning views, and unique beach experiences, making it an unforgettable destination.

It's an older property, and that’s quite apparent in the overall appearance and maintenance. The lifts, in particular, had mechanical issues and were constantly being repaired, which was inconvenient. The restaurant had a very limited menu, making dining options less enjoyable. These aspects definitely need improvement to enhance the guest experience.

The spaciousness of the room was ideal for a family, and the massaging tub provided the ultimate relaxation—a feature I particularly appreciated after a busy week.The hotel facilities were perfect for a long weekend getaway, offering everything one needs to recharge from a hectic lifestyle. As with all Cinnamon hotels, the staff were exceptionally well-trained, consistently attentive, and friendly.The only area that could be improved is the food, which I found to be average for a long weekend stay. However, the stunning sea view more than made up for this, offering a serene and beautiful backdrop throughout the stay.Overall, I highly recommend Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon and Cinnamon hotels in general. They are truly a reliable partner for a memorable holiday experience.

From top to bottom personal working in the hotel is super friendly and never forgets to ask " How is it going, are you enjoying" They make sure if the guests are happy unlike other 5 star luxury hotel staff. The staff represents the true smiling nation. Welcome and farewell is unmatchable and the other 5 star hotels should learn from Hikka tranz staff how to make guests happy to make sure them come for the second visit. This is my second as well. Food is awesome. Loved the Sri Lankan food!!
