This was probably my favorite place in all of Sri Lanka (and we we're in Sri Lanka for over 3 weeks). The rooms were absolutely beautiful and the views were stunning & priceless. They had a gorgeous Infinity pool that overlooked the mountains. The staff were amazingly kind and helpful. There were only a couple of drawbacks. First it is very difficult to get from this property to Kandy. Cars and tuk tuks are very expensive and it is at least a 45 minute ride. Second, the infinity pool does not have any coverings and sits directly in the hot sun. They do have some small umbrellas you can use, but for most people it is simply too hot to enjoy the beautiful pool and views during the day. It's surprising as I don't think it would take too much to create a partial covering for the area. I must reiterate, however, that the property overall and the views are absolutely amazing. The food was also well prepared and well priced. If you stay here, I would highly recommend planning at least one day on the resort. You will be blown away by how beautiful and luxurious it is for the price!

Please do not be put off by the remote location. This hotel is amazing! The view from the pool is incredible, the rooms are beautiful and the staff (especially the manager) are wonderful! The manager is a chef by trade and you can tell that his influence is in the kitchen because the food was lovely! The breakfast was great and so was the dinner. This place is ideal if you wish to relax by the pool and unwind for a while. There is nothing really nearby but we knew that when we booked, and it was perfect as we just wanted to relax. We booked the room without the balcony and the view was so beautiful that we weren’t bothered about not having a balcony. We wish we stayed here longer and we were so sad to leave. ADVICE IF YOU HAVE BOOKED HERE- if you are arriving by taxi, do not let your driver drop you at the bottom of the hill, no matter what they say. Our driver dropped us at the top, which is completely possible with a car and will take only 2 minutes driving. If they drop you at the bottom it will take at least half an hour to get up because of how steep and bendy the road is, and that’s not taking into account your luggage! I highly recommend this hotel! It was also so cheap!

The journey took about 40 mins taxi ride from Kandy , definitely right out & up in the hills! Warm reception from Nickila ( apologies for incorrect spelling!) on arrival, beautiful room overlooking the forest and mountains, with balcony. There is a lovely almost infinity pool from where the view is just breathtaking. There are five rooms only , with one very special room ( a possible Honeymoon suite) with a bath.. unusual for SL Wonderful service from the manager Sumith, lots of interesting stories! The food at Sky lodge was probably the best I’ve had in SL. The chef had been trained by Sumith who is an experienced widely travelled chef & was varied & quite delicious. Dhall curry best ever and the Black pork curry… awesome! Wonderful breakfast spread too with fresh pancakes, fluffy omelette and fruit… This is a place pretty much away from everything. We walked down hill to a little hamlet with a tiny shop where we bought snacks but expect to have all your meals at the lodge… that’s definitely part of the attraction!

I think the property itself is situated in a magnificent location - as fits their description. However the food and staff, especially the manager were exceptional and contributed to the high score awarded. Nothing was any trouble and he was a brilliant conversationalist as well as an extremely competent chef. I chose both Sri Lankan and Western dishes over our 4 night stay and all were of the highest quality…..

Think, being slightly getting on in years I would have liked to have held on to a bannister.rope whilst navigating the precipitous steps down to the restaurant area…..felt vulnerable stepping into midair as it were…,.apart from that minor issue,.,,we are still attending to return to SkyLodge as it is the perfect locality for what we wish to do.

Definitely one of our highlights. It’s a very nice place to relax with an amazing view!! There are only 5 rooms for guests, so it feels not crowded. We can recommend the deluxe room if it’s available, because for some dollars more u get a really big and special room with a beautiful view and big window. The chef is a very likable, far travelled man who speaks perfect English. From sky lodge we managed to get a PickMe for 1200 rupees to kandy but it was probably luck, as it’s a bit tricky that the PickMe will find you. Once you manage that, save the WhatsApp number of your driver :) if you have struggles with finding a PickMe, just ask the Hotel and they will help you. Without PickMe we payed one way between 1500 and 2000 rupees. But we are bad at bargaining:) If you wish for a nice and calm place with a great view - this is your choice!

The place is located in a peaceful mountain view, around 650m altitude (no mosquitos to worry about) with absolutely STUNNING views from all directions! Staff were super polite and helpful! The pool has the most amazing views of not just the valley, but we were also lucky to witness eagles hunting birds right in front of us, mid air! The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced! Room amenities were all on point and clean! It also has 5 rooms only which is great if you're after a quiet peaceful stay.

If I were to be picky, the pool only had 4 sun beds and 1 umbrella, other than that, I can't fault anything.

What a nice property with amazing host. It was always a true pleasure to discuss with them. They upgraded us free of charge as we were staying for a long time and they had availabilities. The pool is great with a stunning view and the good was excellent (take the chocolate brownie for a perfect end). Breakfast was also delicious !! It’s the perfect spot to take a good breath away from the busy town, ideal for a break. If you need to go in town ask them to arrange the tuktuk drive, it will be cheaper and with a really nice driver

The view from the room was really nice. Staff was really helpful with helping prepare baby's food. The food was okay. There was a nice common area where you could sit and read something or do some work if you are working, suitable for working remotely if you need that sort of space to work for a bit. The surrounding was really quiet and calm. To get to the property we had to go through the Peradeniya University so it was quite an experience because it was my first.

The road that leads to the property needs improvement. Another two three rain seasons I believe it might get worse. It would be best if something could be done about it before that happens.

My room faced the mountains and the pool, so I had a beautiful view literally from my bed. Water pressure, temperature, and bed were all perfect. I slept like a baby.. Nikila is great, he made sure my stay was comfortable, and that I always had what I needed. I wish you all the best man. The kitchen prepared great meals for me, and they also can help you out if you have an electric tuktuk ;) Make sure you check out their bar, and take a refreshing dip in the pool — you won’t regret it! Mr.Nikila and Chef Sumith were considerate and accommodating to our request for Halal dinner aswell as fluffy pancakes for my children for breakfast. You should try their delicious local maple like syrup called Treacle. Their wifi service was fast and consistent. Above all the location was spectacular. The veiw was breath-taking and the lodge lived up to its name :)

Not being able to swim in the pool bcoz it was cold but everything else was superb
