My stay at Bellwood Hills Hotel was absolutely fantastic. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious, with stunning views from the room. The highlight of each day was definitely the breakfast – fresh, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. There was a wide variety to choose from, including local specialties, fresh fruits, pastries, and perfectly brewed coffee. It was the kind of breakfast that made you want to sit a little longer and just enjoy the moment. I would return in a heartbeat!

One thing to keep in mind about Bellwood Hills Hotel is its location – it’s perched high up on a mountain. Getting there can be a bit challenging, especially if you're not used to steep, winding roads. However, that’s also exactly what makes the place so special. Because of its elevation, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views that are absolutely worth the climb. Waking up to the sight of rolling hills and misty mornings was unforgettable – a true reward for the journey up.

Everything was perfect at Bellwood Hills. The location was heavenly. Being high up in the mountains afforded me the opportunity to de-stress in a tranquil environment with fresh air and beautiful nature. The beds were very comfortable and every inch of the property was clean and well maintained. The rooms were very spacious. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and treated me like royalty. They accommodated my every request. For example I don't normally have breakfast so they allowed me to have a full dining breakfast experience a little after noon. Note: the view from the restaurant is Amazing. It looks over a tea plantation and mountain view. The food and beverage was excellent. Firstly, being in the homeland of Ceylon tea, the cup of tea which greeted me upon arrival and at mealtime did not disappoint. Honestly I could taste the difference in quality and freshness. The chef was able to make dishes per my request even if it were not found on the menu. The traditional Sri Lankan food was top of the notch and very tasty. I was really spoiled to have such fresh, organic and locally-farmed food healthy cuisine. Did I mention there is a gym and lovely ample sized swimming pool? I enjoyed a swim every day. Geeta the Ayurvedic masseuse is very skilled and gave me a wonderful treatment in the spa area which again has a beautiful view. All of the staff were super friendly but I would like to give a special recognition to the assistant managers Harsha and Tariq who made sure everything was perfect for my stay. They are truly gifted in running this exceptional resort and spa. There was also Lakshitha and Nouan who were exceptional lead wait staff in the restaurant and made my dining experiences perfect.

There honestly wasn't anything I disliked. The fact that I booked one night and stayed over 5 is a testament to how much I love and recommend this location. Bellwood Hills Resort and Spa truly exceeded my expectations.

Incredible service delivered by the hotel’s staff - big shoutout to Mr. Harsha for his proactive help arranging my transport and spa treatments. The scenery around the hotel is truly magical, a wonderful place to reconnect with nature. I really enjoyed my meals at the hotel’s restaurant. Although many previous reviews have mentioned the location being a bit further away from Kandy, this actually enhances the experience. The distance allows for daily trips to Kandy while offering a serene retreat that enriches the entire experience with a spiritual touch.

We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children that booked three rooms at Bellwood. I had initially booked the hotel for the stunning views it offers, unfortunately we stayed during a cyclone. Despite this we had an amazing stay at Bellwood and it has become one of my personal favourite hotels of our stay. The hotel is beautiful with lovely large bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The staff were extremely fun and couldn’t have been more helpful. The hotel is a an extra journey from Kandy but worth the extra travel for its quiet picturesque location. The journey to and from the hotel adds to the experience of visiting Sri Lanka

We stayed for 3 nights here. It was our first destination in Sri Lanka. We were mesmerised by the view it offered from room. The balcony with vast valley view is just perfect. Food : we had Sri Lankan rice and curry here for the first time. And we realise now it was the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. Excellent quality and value for money. Staff behaviour: really polite and always eager to help us. We had best time here. Room: it was a spacious , well decorated room with all amenities. The room was big enough and my daughter was running from one end to another. We loved our stay here.

There was nothing much to complaint about Maybe children play area with some slide, toys will add on.

Everything! The location, although quite a way out of Kandy, was perfect for us. Tucked away in the hills with beautiful views and stillness. We chose not to visit Kandy during our stay as we felt so relaxed and rested at Bellwood Hills. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous morning walk with Tharaka and we learned so much from him. Harsha was fabulous at making contact before our arrival, arranging transfers and anything else we needed. We were treated like royalty. The food, and restaurant views, were incredible, the waiters were so friendly and attentive. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough. We left feeling valued and rejuvenated ❤️ we will 100% return.

This isn’t a negative point but be mindful that Kandy is about 40 minutes by tuk tuk. DON’T let this put you off. Just plan your trip into Kandy mindfully, knowing you will come back to your accommodation for peace and tranquility.

With the stunning view of Kandy. And all the staff are so friendly the food was amazing They’re not fully operating the bar on the top of hotel. So if they can make it that will be great but still you can get the drinks from the property

The small things there is no other restaurant near the hotel. And little bit far from Kandy town but who doesn’t like more rush or crowded the Bellwood is a perfect place to stay

The view is amazing. You will never have dinner with a better view! The staff is super friendly. I can not thank them enough 🤗. The food was excellent! Jacuzzi on the rooftop with breathtaking views over the valley.

It’s outside of Kandy so it will cost you 2000 rupees and about 30 minutes to go there. I was very happy to stay outside of Kandy as pollution is an issue in the center. The hotel is a bit dated. The gym is small. Overall it’s more like a 7/10 but the view and the value for money make it a 9/10 🤗

We liked everything : the spacious and comfortable rooms, the food, the spa with lovely outdoor jacuzzi , swimming pool , the stunning view. But in the first place we appreciate the people from there, their service and kindness, their willingness to do above and beyond. Special thanks to Harsha and Tharaka and their team who accommodate all our requirements. 10 out of 10 for this hotel.

The property was breathtaking. Sat on top of a mountain about a 40 minute drive out of Kandy it’s an amazing experience just getting there. Upon arrival you are greeted by the most friendly staff who make you feel right at home from the start. Standout features are the hot tub and rooftop pool, as well as the stunning view from the restaurant. I ate the prawn curry for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The staff are very professional but also are more than happy to have conversation and have a joke if you’re anything like me. The Spa treatment was a lovely way to relax in the morning, and Havsha (the man on reception) organised everything for us for whenever we needed it. Weather it was the Spa treatment, a Tuk Tuk tour of the surrounding area with a fantastic scenic lookout, or even organising us a driver to Columbo, he did it all with zero hesitation.

There is nothing that we didn’t like about the property, which is the honest truth, we couldn’t find a bad thing about the place if we tried!
