Hands down the best guesthouse in Nurawa Eliya. Very convenient location, just 5 mins walk from the train station. Had 2 amazing nights staying here because they offered free breakfast and quality Sri Lankan food for dinner at very reasonable prices. The wife of the owner of the hostel really knows how to cook. I can’t take spicy food and they really made the curry very mild but still very flavourful. Besides, the bed in the double room was soft and comfy. Also had the chance to chat with this wonderfully warm and hospitable family. The living room was full of love and joy. And they really tried hard to make me feel home. Much kudos to Vibin and Lale for taking me to Horton Plains to watch sunrise. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you all!!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Train View! The room itself was clean and the bed was so unbelievably comfortable. The bathroom had hot water which was excellent! The hosts were so friendly, welcoming and wonderful. They organised a trip for us for the day which was excellent and really well priced. We also chose to have dinner at the property for a small price and the food was absolutely excellent! Breakfast in the morning was also so lovely. We were also given lots of local tea which was great! The location was excellent, given we had a tour, we got to explore Nuwara Eliya and surrounding areas whilst remaining close to the train station. The surrounding area was so beautiful and there was lots of walks/waterfalls close by. I really recommend this stay to anyone - so homely, comfortable and welcoming. A perfect stay!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Friendly family who helped me with a short notice tour to Ramboda falls and Nuwara Elya. Clean och with a loving homy feeling. Love the balcony, view and my own bathroom. Lovely home cooked dinner. Gave me extra blanket when it was chilly in the night. Helped with early check in. Advice is to take the stairs from underneath road, you don't have to take the Google maps road around.

WiFi could be faster and shower hotter but it was okay.

We stayed one night at The Train View, and it was an unforgettable experience. Selva and his family were wonderfully warm and welcoming, serving us delicious homemade local dishes for both dinner and breakfast. The chicken curry was outstanding — rich in flavor and absolutely worth trying. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. From our room, we were treated to a breathtaking panorama of endless tea plantations, a view we will always remember.

The owner and his wife are lovely. They really worked hard to make my stay the best. They prepared delicious meals, the included Sri Lankan breakfast and a very reasonably priced and delicious dinner. I liked the reasonably-priced, 5-hour tuk tuk tour of the area, including Nuwara Eliya that was arranged for me. This is a good place for a short stay on the train route between Ella & Kandy. Any issues with this location are not the fault of the owners. They are very kind and take good care of their guests.

My biggest disappointment here is the WiFi. It is very weak, apparently due to the mountains. And, I was disappointed in the town. There really isn’t much to do or even restaurants within walking distance.

Selva and his family took care of all we needed. We stayed one night to interrrupt the long train ride between Ella and Kandy. The location is perfect and some shops are in the nearer surrounding. We enjoyed long walks through the tea plantations and to the waterfall in Nanu Oya. The double room with the balcony is stunning. I stayed in the dorm room. Very basic but I slept good. Shared bathroom is upstairs. We had lunch and dinner and the family cooked for us.

Clean and bright room with a beautiful view of the tea plantation. Perfect for one night to make a stop near the train station and continue to Ella We made a very interesting tour with a tuc tuc, that the owner had arranged to waterfalls and tea plantations and a factory. The owner was really kind and speaks very good english. The breakfast was good.

The room was small but for one night it's totally fine, everything was clean.

First of all, I want to thank for the owner and his wife. 🙏 Because here the checking time is after 14:00. But when we went to Nuwara Eliya, it was 4:00 in the morning. 🧖🥶😱😨 When we gave a call, they talled us to come. That humanity is very valuable. It was very late when we went for a walk that day. They were good people by preparing food for us at 12.00 am. And there was delicious food and a beautiful view. This is my first visit to Nuwara Eliya. Enjoyed it to the max. Really a very good place. Thank you very much for all the care given to us.😍🙏😍

Room and bathroom are spotless and have a beautiful view on the green Tea Hills. Mattress very comfortable with fresh bed sheets. Breakfast was included delicious and abundant made by Gauri's hands. She made typical Sri Lankan Curry Idyappam with eggs on Toast, a Pot of delicious Local Tea, home made Coconut chocolate cake, Slices of Toast with mango jam. Her husband was very kind and very helpful taking my luggage up the stairs and giving me very good information on Local walks and Local Buses to travel around

I liked everything

Everything!! The family is so nice and welcome. If you pick the room with no toilet inside, it is small, but the toilet is anyway just for yourself, so no problem. We had dinner and breakfast there , it was incredible!! There is a tiny walk to do from the main street, but you will pass through the local people's house, and that's the best part. I don't know about the train view but the view of the tea plantation is absolutely gorgeous and worth the price! I want already to come back! Thanks for the experience.
