Basically, we were happy with everything. Of course it is not 5 star hotel, but the stay was smooth. The beds were big and comfortable. The rustic style of cottage and room was also nice. The breakfast was also ok. Nice guys at reception.
There several issues for improvement. Some vegetables for the breakfast instead of those cakes would be much better. We saw that other tourists also do not touch those cakes. Also, we had a dinner in your restaurant. Most of the time we were served by one young slim guy (with white shirt), and we really like his service. We left some additional tips, but it was immediately taken by another guy. We saw how he put to the pocket while the younger guy did not have possibility to take it. It was really rude and sad. That guy was with dark shirt.

The property is located at a beautiful location. Everything was very smooth from check-in to check-out. When I was not feeling well, the staff, especially Mahendran, went out of his way and sent us over-the-counter medicine, showcasing his professionalism and hospitality. Moreover, considering my situation, the staff was very kind to prepare and offer me drinks which were not even in the breakfast menu. Besil also did a very good job helping us bring our luggage to and from our vehicle. This was a place where we truly felt authentic Sri Lankan hospitality. Recommend a 10/10!

My wife and I travelled to Nuwara Eliya for pleasure. We made several hikes in the vicinity and wanted to discover and experience "little England". Queenswood Cottage was unlike any other nearby hotel or resort, as it had a very specific character, with the "wooden-clad" buildings and room furnishings had a bit of the picturesque "old England" vibe. Although it is located off the main road coming to Nuwara Eliya, it is somewhat enclosed and feels quiet, comparing to the main road itself. The staff was extremely helpful, answered to our wishes promptly, offered to clean our room several times. The restaurant food was superb. The hotel is located approximately 5 minutes walk from the centre of Nuwara Eliya, so visiting most of the sites within the town itself is very easy on foot.

Queenswood Cottage is an interesting place with its log cabin style building. It definitely looks unique in town. I am not sure when it was built but it can’t be too old. We were there for 2 nights in a suite room 200. Our two teenagers slept in the mezzanine in that room and we had the large bed. The room was spacious and comfortable with a mix of furniture that suits the style of the building. We enjoyed the balcony when the weather improved. The bathroom was a good size but seemed a little warn. It had a shower\sauna combo which I have never seen before. We didn’t try the sauna. The staff were friendly and helpful and kept the room clean.
The breakfast was just ok but we ate elsewhere on second morning. We didn’t really gel with the restaurant. We enjoyed playing pool but the cues didn’t have goof tips. Our check-in was delayed by 30 mins as cleaning hadn’t finished. We found that during a windy night there was a lot of noise from something being moved by the wind. All in all a good stay.

The staff were extremely kind and friendly. The cottages were a novelty, being different from other places with the wooden chalet effect. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were spotlessly clean. Rooms came with shower gel, shampoo, toothbrushes, soap, sewing kit, shower caps etc. shower was hot with good pressure. The restaurant was excellent and we had the best meal of our holiday there which was the chicken kottuh. Breakfast was a buffet with a large selection of sweet and savoury, Sri Lankan and western options. I would like to say a particular Thankyou to the staff there who arranged to have my daughter’s cuddly toy couriered to us after we had left it in the room. They went above and beyond to help us.

Location was convenient for the town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and felt cosy with the heater on ( weather was wet and cool during our stay) The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good once we were able to stop them bringing us food we hadn't ordered and didn't want. The restaurant was well populated in the evening by both residents and non residents, with a good choice of food at a reasonable price.
Bathroom was very cold with no heating ...... Impossible to get the towels dry. Outdoor furniture on the balcony was definitely in need of updating or at the very least repair.

We had two adjacent rooms here on the first floor as a family of 5. The hotel was well located, and a very welcome retreat after a day of traveling and exploring in the rain, it felt like arriving at an Oasis. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped and the best hot shower I have had in Sri Lanka. The dinner with a generous discount for residents was great (no licence to sell beers) the breakfast was good. The staff were just lovely and helpful and accommodated an early breakfast due to an early train in the morning which was kind and appreciated. A great experience and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Nothing, cannot fault my experience here.
