The hotel was totally new and beautiful and everything was super clean. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. It was really convenient to communicate with them via WhatsApp and they always replied straight away. The location is excellent - close to everything: the beach, the restaurants and bars, the biggest grocery store is just around the corner, but it was still quiet at night - there was live music in restaurants nearby but once we closed the balcony door it was absolutely quiet in our room. The bed and bathroom were super comfortable. WiFi was excellent (that had been a problem for us in many places in Sri Lanka before). I recommend this place for surfers looking for a comfy stay, couples, remote workers, families and really anyone who doesn’t want to worry about stuff.

It was a bit pricey (then again Weligama in general is a bit pricey compared to areas around) but I’m sure it’s worth it once they’ve fully finished the building - the highest floor looked very promising as a bar and co-working area.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The service was outstanding – every staff member was warm, friendly, and always ready to help. The location couldn’t be better, just steps away from the beach, which made it so easy to enjoy the ocean anytime. The in-house Elements Café is a real highlight: the coffee was excellent, and the smoothie bowl was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect spot to relax after a swim. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great hospitality, great food, and the perfect beachfront location!

The room was huge and clean, the bath was big and nice aswell. And, after having spent 4 weeks in sri lanka, it is safe to say that Mzion has the best, most welcoming, friendliest and most helping personnel we've encountered. Welcome drinks, a fruit platter, organized trips, help with search for other hotels, bringing pool towels, a personal weather forecast each morning. They did it all! Plus, we could leave our luggage while on a 1 week trip AND it was the only hotel where everything in the minibar (drinks, snacks, beer) was free.

There was no safe, and the hotel was on the rather expensive side. Sometimes traffic can be a little loud, but it's not a big deal.

The hotel is new, and the rooms have a modern look and feel, which is important for us. The room we stayed in was very bright, and features a little winter garden, which can be used early morning or evening, and makes the room feel bigger. So does the terrasse. The shower and bath tub are modern and separated by a glass wall from the toilet, which is great for us "Western" tourists. The young stuff are trying their best to be helpful, and are very friendly.

The door to the terrasse is made of two sliding glass doors, which aren't sealed. As our room was facing the upper road it was quite noisy (with the bus drivers and tuk tuk drivers honking all the time) - it's better after midnight, though. Their regular price is exaggerated but we could get a good deal on booking at the time of our stay.

This was by far the best stay I’ve had in Weligama, even though it was just a short visit. The property was spotlessly clean, and the room was incredibly comfortable—everything felt well taken care of. The rooftop is definitely the highlight of the hotel, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were amazing—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. I wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Weligama!

The staff go above and beyond to offer a comfortable stay. Kosala in particular works so hard to see to the guest's every need. The hotel is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants and spas and a stone's throw from the beach. The room is big and spacious and we absolutely loved the gorgeous shower! We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay and would definitely come back to this lovely new hotel.

The hotel is very new and they need to iron out a few issues, for eg they have a brand new pool but there is nowhere in the pool area to put anything except on the floor and they don't provide pool towels. As soon as I asked for a towel the staff very happily brought me one but it is these little details that need fixing.

I stayed in four hotels in Weligama over two weeks, and without a doubt, Mzion Hotel Weligama was the best. It's a well-equipped, medium-range hotel offering all essential facilities. The small pool is nice, the rooms are spacious and spotless, and the bathrooms are impressively modern and large—comparable to those in five-star hotels. The rooftop is a highlight, offering breathtaking sea and city views. A best place to have a beer. A truly remarkable short stay!

Still a little unfinished in places but not in a way to affect your stay. Roof top bar not open (but still a nice place to take a drink up and relax) Main issue (for our room on lower floor) was traffic noise. That is the downside to the location next to a main road. I assume rooms on the beach side, or on higher floors would be quieter.
