The hotel is situated right next to Alvik metro station. The green line takes you directly to Gamla Stan. Very practical in that respect. The neighborhood seems safe and calm - so calm in fact that there is very little to do or see around it, especially late at night so keep that in mind if you book in Alvik. But you can definitely make the most of it by taking a short walk along the waterfront and stopping by Poke Burgers for dinner. The hotel is clean and modern, with very comfortable rooms and complimentary facilities (gym, sauna). It’s not just a place to sleep but also to spend leisure time. You can lounge at the bar with a book or have dinner at the restaurant. The copious breakfast buffet was my favorite part ! Very generous spread of sweet and savory options, as well as a few available swaps for dietary restrictions. We took our time sampling a bit of everything. Very helpful and accomodating staff.

Booking and Scandic both indicate the rooms are equipped with ”AC”. However, guests have no control over their own room’s temperature. It can get very hot or cold, depending on external factors. So make sure to bring varied layers for lounging and sleeping. I caught a cold the first night. It’s honestly very disappointing for a 4-star hotel. The hotel’s restaurant is closed on sundays. Not practical for guests when there are so few options nearby. Our stay happened to be on the same weekend as a sports competition, so the hotel was overrun by children. There was quite a bit of chaos and noise. Had we known, we would have picked a different place to stay.

The room was amazing, and perfectly clean, the private sauna is really great. Cleaning was upon request, but they emptied the bins and replaced the towels every day. The breakfast was also great, could not think of anything I missed. The view is really nice from the room, the metro station is a few minutes walk, and there is a supermarket and some restaurants just in front of the hotel.

I requested early check in for 12:00 instead of the regualar 4 PM, for what I received an approval message, but upon arrival the receptionist said that it's not guaranteed. I showed the message I got and they said they don't know who approved it, but it was a mistake. I asked again about the room 2 hours later, they said it's clean but it has to be "checked", I asked how much time it will take, they called someone and said 5 minutes, so if I"m not asking that again I probably had to wait 2 hours more. I understand that there is only one room of this kind, but I would expect some more close follow-up about the room if something like this happens. I also requested a baby cot during booking, but I had to ask again twice at the reception after we got the room.

We had a pleasant stay at Scandic Alvik, thanks in large part to the exceptionally comfortable bed and the quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The hotel is well-connected to central Stockholm via the nearby metro station, which offers frequent and convenient service. There's also a well-stocked grocery store just around the corner that stays open even on Sunday evenings, which is a real plus. The free Wi-Fi was reliable, and we appreciated that the hotel provided us with a proper receipt without any hassle.

Breakfast, while offering a good variety, was overly crowded, and we found it frustrating that guests were required to select a time slot, many of which were already fully booked. Parking was another challenge: not only was it difficult to reserve, but it’s also managed by a third-party app, making the process more complex than it should be. Charging an electric or hybrid vehicle required dealing with a separate provider. Lastly, the air conditioning was not working during our stay. Although a small fan was provided upon request, the room still felt uncomfortably warm.

it was overall a very good and comfortable stay. The breakfast was excellent, and the neighborhood was fairly nice as well. so I recommend it :D

I had written to them in booking.com messages, in advance, to provide wine glasses in the room ahead of our stay, but apparently they never saw that message, which was a bit of a pity since it was my boyfriend’s birthday and I had notified them beforehand. Other than the cleaning that was arranged upon our arrival, we didn’t receive any other room service. I ended up picking up glasses and a wine bucket from downstairs myself.

Very clean, quiet and convenient. The room is a good size and very practical. The bed is very comfortable. The air conditioning is amazing and functioned very well. The gym and the sauna were very clean and functional. The breakfast was with variety and the the food is high quality. The area is very safe and there is a nice park nearby

Tasty breakfasts with a lot of dishes to try. I loved pancakes with jam and sour cream. Location is good, next to subway and train station, there is a nice small park on the lake shore nearby with a great views to the fireworks if you happen to be there during major holidays. Family room is decently equipped with a small teapot. Nice cosy lightning.

We had a problem with leaking sewer which the staff fixed the same day we reported the issue. There were no batteries in the safe in the room. That was not a problem for us, but something to improve anyway. The views from the window from 2 floor where bad - to the parking. Sauna in gym are very small. Decent to train a bit and than relax, but don’t expect Spa-like service.

I had an incredible stay at Scandic Alvik, conveniently located close to the tennis venue for my tournament. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast is a definite highlight and a must when staying at Scandic Alvik — great variety and quality. While I usually prefer apartment-style living when travelling, this hotel stay was truly phenomenal. Comfortable, well-run, and exceeded my expectations in every way.

High-medium level standards with quite good quality/price rate considering the area where the hotel insist and considering that Scandinavia is expensive generally speaking. The room is big (comparing to those at centre hotels) and clean 🫧. The furniture is standard Scandinavian style. The staff was well ready to solve all of my requests. Breakfast is various and huge and many use it as a brunch! The city mobility services like metro 🚇 and bus station are very close to the hotel. In 20 minutes one is downtown or in Gamla Stan. A good solution for who lands at Bromma too, with a dedicated train stop towards the hotel. Taxi 🚖 service for Arlanda has a fixed price with the hotel up to now. The staff packed me a breakfast the day I left for the airport early in the morning.

The bed could be a little more comfortable, anyway its not the worst and I slept well comparing with other central hotels in my life. Maybe its just part of the essential Scandinavian style. The guest has to remember that has not to seek for luxury in furniture at this standard hotel, but only the way it is clean.

This time I decided to stay at a Scandic hotel that is a bit outside of downtown Stockholm, and I think the quality is here way better in comparison to the hotels in the centre. Big, comfortable room, clean bathroom. Lots of different tasty options for breakfast. Affordable pricing. Hotel is easily accessible by public transportation. Very nice staff.

Internet was at many times distorted, I was receiving pop-ups about unsafe internet connection, so had to use my own data. For some reason, it was not possible to open windows in my room.

The location is fat from the city center only one metroline quite amazing. I loved the rooms and very comfortable bed and ofc super clean bathroom. The breakfast was various so everyone can find anythingn they want.

Maybe there could be some bathroom one-use slippers. Also maybe it is just me but not a big fan of bathroom curtain, there could be a seperator glass inbetween. The bathroom was super clean and good anyways
