The location of Hotel Lavaux is truly stunning – nestled among the vineyards with expansive views over Lake Geneva. Our room had a beautiful panoramic window offering a spectacular lake view, and we really appreciated the exterior shutters that provided both privacy from the street and trains, as well as effective sun protection. From the hotel, you can walk straight down to the lake and enjoy a swim – there’s even a floating platform, which makes it ideal for summer. There are also scenic hiking trails through the vineyards that start right behind the hotel. The nearby village of Cully is just a 15-minute walk away and offers a nice range of restaurants. We also liked that the hotel has a snack and drink vending machine available 24/7, a restaurant, and a terrace. Daily cleaning was provided, and small requests (like cutlery for the room) were met without any issues.

Now, a few things to be aware of: The biggest downside is the noise. Even though we expected some due to the hotel’s location near a main road and railway, we were surprised by how clearly we could hear trains and cars even with the doors closed. Sitting on the balcony wasn’t very relaxing because of that – we ended up keeping the doors shut most of the time. The bathroom cleanliness was okay but could have been better – not dirty, but not spotless either. The staff was polite, though not particularly warm or engaging. All in all, we’d still recommend the hotel for the location and views – just be aware that it’s not a quiet countryside retreat, and noise from the road and trains is very present.

Staff (I met 5 in total) were always thoroughly lovely and super helpful. Happy to speak in English. Room was immaculately clean and once I worked out that the reason the balcony sun shade was down was because I kept pressing the (what I thought was) a light button that didn't do anything, the view was stunning! I also had to google how to operate the tilt and turn door onto the big balcony (with table and chairs) which was easy with the free WiFi. Good quality bedding and towels. Switzerland is more expensive than UK but the prices at LaVaux would not be out of place there. Lots of space, shower excellent and the view just perfect. I haven't travelled abroad for 25 years, and coming here as a single traveller was very daunting. Hotel Lavaux turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I thought it was excellent.

Maybe time to replace my mattress.

This is our second time to stay at this hotel. The staff is wonderful and the location is great. It’s great to get free passes to ride the local train. It’s also nice to have free parking. Views of the lake and vineyards are wonderful and everything in the room is very comfortable. The air conditioning works well, which was very important during a hot spell. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Food at the restaurant was just mediocre. I would suggest going down to the Vevey to find a restaurant. It’s a short train ride.

The absolute highlight was the majestic view from the window – truly breathtaking and worth every penny, especially on a sunny day. The room was comfortable and had everything needed, including a nice toilet. Sound insulation from the outside (despite train tracks nearby) was superb. Service was good and as expected. The free on-site parking was also very convenient.

The walls were quite thin, so you could hear the neighbors easily (though ours weren't too noisy). The breakfast selection was a bit limited.

All is quite new and handy Parking downstairs is free of charges Receptionists are very nice The hotel is perfectly located for travelling by car or by moto due to the free parking and no need to stuck in the city traffic. Though, just in few minutes walk there are the train station to visit Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne etc

It seems that the cleaning staff has no habit even to knock the door when wish to enter to your room. It happened to me not once, but twice... The lake view is very nice, but needs to know that there are the road & the rails in front of the hotel this side. In the night no traffic, so calm, but in the day time its quite noisy.

It is a fourth time we spent an autumn weekend there and hopefully next year we will visit the place again. The rooms on the upper floor are exceptional, you don't really feel being near by the street. The views are worthy every penny. In additional the hotel offers free parking slots. It is a perfect place if you plan long walks on the vineyards (autumn recommended)

The quality of restaurant from the exceptional few years go keeps dropping down. Still it is not bad, but far from the quality it offered during the first our visit. In fact you can have a Nespresso on the reception (not expensive) during time when the restaurant is closed, but it would be nice to have espresso machine in the room.

The terrace was a real bonus for me...loved keeping the door open (sometimes) for fresh air. The lake and mountain views were deeply relaxing as were the walks along the lake. The staff was very helpful answering my questions...very personable too! The breakfast was good and convenient and the bed was very comfortable. Access to lakeside towns (Montroux was exceptionally nice) was easy with the complimentary train pass.

It would have been nice to be warned about the traffic/train noise directly in front of the hotel. With door to terrace closed, it was NOT a problem, but I liked the fresh air. Also, communication about which train stop to use should be more clear. On a train route map Epesses doesn't look like a stop, so I exited the train at Cully, which (I was told) was the nearest town to the hotel and walked almost a mile (with luggage) (miscommunication could have been on my part too). Also, warning about the stairs involved in using the train stop in Epesses. I recently had knee surgery and the stairs were very troublesome, which they might also be for someone with heavy luggage or difficulty climbing.

The room was totally white. I asked for extra pillows and the staff was kind to bring 2. Room was clean and the sound proofing was good too. I would stay again if I travel to this part of Switzerland for my holidays.

More body wash and shampoo. The hangers breakers easily and very bulky and clumsy. The hotel should look seriously into changing all their hangers to better ones that does not break. And.... also to put more hangers per room.

The room had a minimalist and stylish decor which I liked. Air-conditioning worked very well and was unintrusive. The view of the lake was nice. The village was within easy walking distance and the beach was very near. Parking was unproblematic. Cully itself was lovely and highly recommended.

The proximity to the main road, the thick windows kept the noise out but you did have to keep them shut.

We chose this specific hotel as an easy location from which to get to the Epesses wine festival, on foot. The added bonus was that they have two bed apartments and ours had a beautiful view over the lake from the balcony. I’ve seen other reviews noting that the hotel is next to the road and train line. It is. But if it wasn’t I think the hotel would probably be ten times more expensive for the location amongst the vineyards and next to the lake. We couldn’t hear any noise from inside, just when on the balcony, and it wasn’t even bad noise. We were still able to chill out and chat and read. There is a lovely walk along the lake front to Cully.

Erm. I can’t think of anything I’d change.
