Collina d’Oro Resort is a very quiet , luxurious place with an exquisite peaceful view to Lugano lake, and a harmonious nature. We enjoyed the palatable Mediterranean and Swiss food, and the special intercontinental breakfast with nature view. Warm swimming pool with sparkling shiny waters nested in the heart of the surrounding mountains and hills. This is not poetry , it is the actual charm and spirit of the resort. It is recommended for families, and nature lovers! It is to 8 mn away from Tasis the American Summer school by car, and there is a bus transporting yo the Lugano center every 1 hour. A small library in the hotel lobby for readers! I personally highly recommend this place, to spend a healthy and mind restoring vacation👍

The opening hours of the garden restaurant is short, i recommend to be increased in high season. As the resort is a bit distant from the center and food areas about 18 mn by car.

We liked the indoor pool area a lot. Very good food, great breakfast. Staff, always very forthcoming, friendly - great!

Would have loved to use the outdoor pool, but unfortunately it was still closed, contrary to what booking said. We raised the issue and got a very big apology and some 'goodies' to make up for the mistake. Staff at reception was awesome in this regard (Rosella). I was expecting views of the lake, but that does not exist from the rooms we had. But beautiful surroundings. The covered breakfast area is a bit small and does not have much of a view. That could be improved.

A beautiful experience, end-to-end. We particularly enjoyed the indoor pool & sauna area. The restaurant serves excellent food. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Can't wait to visit in the summer and enjoy the outdoor pool/facilities as well. Also, delightful walking paths starting right at the hotel. Don't miss the local Grottos!

Missing a vegetarian option on the Friday evening restaurant dinner menu (but room service was wonderful). My husband's massage was a little below expectations. As a thought - it would have been lovely to return from our daytrips to a simple afternoon cake/sweet in the common area.

This was one of the best stays we had recently. To start, we had a great reception by Giuseppe. He made sure to show us around the property and tell us everything about it. Everyone from the staff was very polite and made our experience even better. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but we got an upgrade to a better room if we would wait a bit longer, which wasn’t a problem for us. The place had the most beautiful view of Colina D’Oro. They have a good underground parking space, that was much needed due to the heat.

Now, not everything was perfect of course. The breakfast? Even though it was great, it doesn’t have many choices or variations. Given this is an expensive resort, I was expecting something more. Another thing that bothered me a bit is that when you want to have dinner at your room, they charge you 10 CHF for the room service. That’s quite expensive and probably unnecessary.

Pool area is simply superb. Very rare to see a pool area surrounded by green and mountains. Breakfast is very good though freshly squeezed juice would be more in keeping with the overall context of the setting and the wonderful narrative around much of the produce which is grown locally or brought in fresh etc

I think the menu at lunch in the outside area is limited, though very good. Prices however are another story. It is at the end of the day an outside area and 32CHF for two wine spritzers (wine/soda) is frankly crazy. Also the staff are beyond superb BUT Is anyone in management paying attention to their attire? Surely the hotel can be paying for their suits etc? Even the greatest of service can be let down by appearance. If it were my hotel they would be looking like they were ready for a Milan or Paris catwalk.

The location of the hotel is so tranquil. Beautiful just after sunrise or sunset. The SPA is amazing, with emotional shower, sauna, turkish sauna, relaxation room, massage area, fitness studio, indoor pool with cold and hot jacuzzis, and outdoor pool with a heated outdoor hot tub (both closed on this occasion, unfortunately). Plenty of towels in SPA area. Tea/water facilities available. Perfect facilities for relaxation. The shower in the room is something every person needs in their life: one feels like a newborn after it. Especially useful when SPA area is closed but one needs to relax after a long day :) We checked in very late (was a very spontaneous decision) and were welcomed in an appropriate manner - the last time we were treated like we didn't belong there (!). We enquired about a late checkout possibility, but were told to ask the next day. After some relaxing spa we did - and were offered to stay longer free of charge as it was Easter weekend. We checked out at 1 (instead of 11), meaning we had 2 more hours to enjoy the SPA area. Very grateful for this accommodation. Robes available in the room. Secure underground parking, free of charge. Complimentary bottles of water in the room and at checkout, a nice touch. Fridge and hairdryer available in the room. Kettle and tea/coffee also.

The breakfast is not great. This is our second stay and we are underwhelmed - we had better breakfast spread/quality in 3-4 star hotels before. There's no quark, cereal selection is poor, no Nutella, coffee is not good at all. The SPA area is open only between 8 am and 8 pm, meaning no late chilling in the jacuzzi. For a 5 star resort I would imagine this should be available 24/7 or at least till 10 pm. As mentioned previously, the lift system is bad, meaning one has to wait very long to use the lift to access the SPA/Restaurant/outdoor swimming pool.

Room service not available the whole day, I was traveling with a kid so I had to cook dinner and lunch in the kitchen, because she was always hungry before the restaurant opened.

Beautiful location overlooking the mountains of Lugano, The hotel itself was beautiful as well and the Spa very comfortable. The staff in the hotel were super friendly and helpful...and dealt with everything in the most skillfull way. I really miss this beautiful place.

The aircondition in the room had a mind of its own and could not be programmed to a preferable temperature. The beds were comfortable, but there are many hotels with better beds and linnen.
