Exceptional hotel right in front of a gorgeous lake. You can have a swim and then enjoy a delicious dinner right there right then. Everyone working in Lac Hotel is lovely and passionate about great service, rooms are nice clean, what’s not to love? ;)

For us, the location was excellent as we were passing Lake Laguna on our way to Turin. Breakfast was standard standard continental, but with hot bacon, sausage and egg available too. The standout point for us, however, was the staff, particularly the receptionist when we checked in! I think his name was Vincenzo and he was super helpful! Gave us plenty of local information, including bus routes and timetable, even printing us off free bus / train tickets so we could get out and about. I do hope we pass that way in the future as we would definitely stay there again! Great value for money too, especially as the place was right in the edge of the lake.

Perhaps speed of service at the restaurant in the evening, but food itself was fantastic!

This hotel spells hospitality with a capital H! Today is my birthday. Yesterday, we checked in. We were tired and I really needed a coffee. We finished the check-in and the friendly owner served us two cappuccinos for free. We also got a free room upgrade. He also must have taken note of the date on my ID. This morning at breakfast, the server brought me a tasty piece of Schwarzwälder cake with a lit birthday candle and wished me a happy birthday 🎈. Those little things. That's hospitality. Mille grazie! In other things, the view is exceptional, the hotel staff kind, good breakfast. Please take note, the hotel writes in the description that there is a small lift. They do mean it. The lift will take two suitcases or two average sized people but not both. We've had an excellent stay and will happily return!

Driving in to Melide from the French alps didn't make it look promising as a place to stay for the three days that we had booked. But looks can be deceptive and it turned out to be a really wonderful location for exploring Lake Lugano and the surrounds. The hotel and restaurant were lovely and the view over the lake was beautiful from the room. The room was spacious, clean and well laid out and breakfast was really good. The train station was an easy walk from the hotel and the Ticino ticket gives free train transport, so visiting Lugano was very easy and definitely worth doing. We can really recommend the funicular from Paradiso to San Salvatore (with the walk back down to Melide being an unexpected bonus). The cogwheel train trip to Monte Generoso was an unexpected delight and we would have loved to walk from there back to Bellavista, but unfortunately didn't have the time. Also stopping off at the Cala Melide after our various trips was a real delight, really friendly service, good wine and beer, great Pinsa and a fabulous view!

The hotel was a very pleasant find. A wonderful Boutique hotel. The room was excellent with an amazing view and very nicely presented. Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful, considering we were staying in the town due to an unexpected interruption in our travels. But the Restaurant was really 5 Star. Staff, food, and setting were such a pleasure. I can't recommend it enough.

The town of Melide itself, needs some loving! But access to the lake is very easy and lake swimming in Switzerland is so wonderful. The hotel has private access and there is an empty public beach a few meters away.

We had a fantastic stay! The location is perfect, and the staff was very welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, and to our delight, we were upgraded to a room with a stunning lake view at no extra cost. The front desk even provided us with complimentary tickets for the regional train and bus, making it incredibly easy to get around. Though the parking area is small, we had no trouble parking our car and used the train for all our travel. It was convenient and fast—an overall wonderful experience!

Continues to be great quality accommodation overlooking lake Lugano. Always very comfortable rooms, quiet and well soundproofed, very safe, very clean, lots of facilities, excellent wifi, superb breakfast (& coffee!) and above all excellent hosts. With a special mention to Maria who is the beating heart of Lac Hotel. She is always incredibly helpful , kind and we always enjoy our stays with them, many thanks as always!

Great location, around 1km from the train station and right next to the water front walk which is super nice. The breakfast was delicious and very balanced. Staff are friendly and responsive when we had a problem with the AC, they immediately arrange a replacement.

I left my bluetooth earpod in the restaurant one morning and for some reason none of them kept them for me, which made me a little sad. And it would be nice if they can speak better English.

This was a return visit and we brought family with us. We love this small friendly hotel with the most beautiful terraces with lake view rooms. The location is convenient to see the sights of lake Lugano and located in the sweet little town of Melide. The breakfast is delicious and served right over the lake! I highly recommend this special location.

The location is perefct and very accesible by car. The suite at the top is stunning with absolutely wonderful views. The hotel is lovely and the staff are very friednly and courteous. We stongly recommend.

We stayed over new Years Eve and there were x2 families who partied just about all night. we understand it was new Years Eve but noise unit 3.30am is not reasonable. We will however be back but not for New Years.
