The location seems like a very well-run family business. We were received kindly and very efficiently by the gentleman running the place. we filled out a paper reception form - which I haven't seen I think in years. The location's allocated parking for guests seems like an improvised niche in the sidewalk - still it totally fills the need. The B&B's location is a few meters from the lake-shore. Really ideal for enjoying a walk along the lake. It's also a few steps from a lovely restaurant serving really good food - where we had a great dinner. The next day's breakfast buffet was rich and plentiful. When the staff serving us noticed that my spouse chose not to eat (not because of anything that was served - for personal dietary reasons only), the same person upon checkout insisted that we pay only for one breakfast instead of two since only one of us actually ate. This was really quite generous of her - considering our reservation was for two people in a room including breakfast.

Great size room, first floor was the lowest, but easy staircase for hubby. Pet friendly, fabulous breakfast. We also stayed here in April on route to Brindisi, so we knew how lovely and traditional this bed and breakfast is. Great terrace for a beer before walking to the lake which is absolutely stunning. Super hosts. Lovely meal at Ristorante Giardino, only a few minutes walk away, dog friendly with an outside terrace as well. Take your Swiss adaptor and European Blue parking disc for the Blue Zone parking, just in case - was invaluable.

The hosts were fantastic and I got a big room with a big and comfortable bed. Dogs are allowed. The area around is nice for a walk along the lake. Parking was provided. Breakfast was decent. Again, the hosts were super nice. I would love to stay there again to explore more the area with the family. There are nice facilities for the kids in the lake. Nice playground and dogs can access the lake (always on leash).

The wifi sign in my room was not good. But I think they can fix that soon.

My sister and I had a lovely time (5 nights) at Al Boccalino! The hosts were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the building was extremely clean. The breakfast in the old wine cellar was an amazing start to our day!!! The location is quiet and within walking distance of Lake Lugano, the Swissminiatur open air museum, and all needed amenities such as a grocery store, bus stop, restaurants, bank, and the train station. We enjoyed the chewy candies on the desk as we headed in or out! 😁

This gem of a hotel is located just south of Lugano in Melide, close to the highway. Very convenient and perfect for travelers with car. Excellent service and really friendly staff. It is just a few steps from the refreshing waters of Lake Lugano and in the vicinity are some great choises for dining as well. Hearty and healthy breakfast. Very clean. Also they serve (possibly) the best Swiss beer there.

Mostly the attention we received by the owners and the possibility to park our car safely in front of of the B&B, as it was packed with luggage etc.

Bathroom was a bit tight for 3 people. While everything was very clean, an upgrade of the facilities could be of advection to make this B&B even more attractive.

We had a lovely 2-night stay. Location of little town of Melide and the property is very good. Melide is in the middle between beautiful Morcote village and Lugano. We had a car but you can also get around without a car. The owners give you Ticino pass for free public transport. In the evening we would go to Lugano by train. Station is about 9 minutes walk from the property and then it is only 1-2 stops to Lugano (depending where in Lugano you are going). Also there is a bus to Morcote. Property is literally 2-3 minutes walk from the lake where there is a little beach and also a Lido nearby. We also got free room upgrade and had a room with a balcony and lake view. Room was spacious, modern and comfortable. Website states there is no aircon but actually there was some sort of aircon which can cool down the room but we only used it during the day and switched off at night as it was noisy. But there is also a fan, and nights were not hot even it was very hot during the day. Owners are very nice people, explained is everything. B&B is very quiet. Situated on a quiet side street with no traffic. You can eat breakfast outside when the weather is nice. We liked Melide as it is much quieter than Lugano and feels more like a village.

Not really a dislike but breakfast was only cold. Variety was ok for a B&B but average. Definitely better than usual Italian breakfast. Was fine for 2 days, but if we would stay longer we would prefer something warm and greater variety.

We stayed here for one night on our drive home. B&B near the highway and the lake with delicious and extensive breakfast. Beautiful and spacious rooms that are neat and well equipped. Good price-quality. Very friendly and kind owners that speak multiple languages.

Not a lot of parking space but the owners are very willing to make some space for your car if necessary.

They where very friendly and helpfull. My daughter cannot eat gluten and the made different toaster bread for her and showed what she could eat from the buffet (including glutenfree müsli, and three different kinds of cake. They also checked the hot chocolate.

Good location in a charming little seaside town. I can imagine it would be great for families or couples with a car to discover the beautiful surroundings. Good breakfast. Friendly innkeepers.

Tiny details could be improved: instead of individual sachets for the shower gel, a refillable shower gel dispenser could save plastic waste. The breakfast was good but I was missing some fresh veggies to go with the good bread and cheese.
