The best part of the room was the balcony with the beautiful lake view! The laminate flooring was nice and always feels cleaner than old carpet. They provided a typical, tasty European breakfast with croissants, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cold cuts, cheese, juice and coffee.

The shower was a challenge since it is in a bathtub without a shower handle holder and just a half wall to protect the rest of the bathroom from becoming very wet. It may be a challenge/dangerous for older people to get into and out of the shower. There also aren't many outlets in the room since the hotel was built before everyone owned a cell phone. They did provide a multi-port adapter that helped us to get all of our electronics charged.

The location was superb - 5-7 minutes walk from the train station but also from the funicular that takes you to Monte San Salvatore - the magnificent viewing point.

The staff working in the breakfast area didn’t sound very cheerful or happy to be there during our stay - it gave a bit unsettling impression. The service was indifferent to the customers. It is important to mention that one of the hotel workers was coughing in a bad way for at least 30 minutes(perhaps not a cold and just too much smoking and nothing to worry) and then went to the kitchen. Usually when one is sick - they don’t go to the kitchen where the food is cooked?

The view was just like the picture online. It is gorgeous! We had the lake view with the balcony. Just a delight to have the door open with that view and the beautiful breeze! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good. The morning breakfast was delightful! Great coffee, wonderful selection of bread 🥖 cheese, meats, jams, Nutella, cereal and fruit. There was a station to boil eggs and a variety of yogurts. The service from all the staff was exceptional! Everyone was so friendly, kind, and helpful. 😀

Hotel Victoria is an exceptional value! However it is a hotel that is a bit dated. It must have been gorgeous in its day, but it is not a fancy commercial hotel, which adds to its charm if you are comfortable with a more historic and personal feel.

Hotel Victoria was at perfect location, very near to bus station and train station. Commuting anywhere was really easy and convenient. Rooms was spacious and neat and clean. Staff was really good and food was amaxing too. Breakfast was good with good lake view sitting area. Lunch/ dinner served at hotel's restaurabt always serves amaxing food. Only thing they should consider is providing Kettle to warm the water and drinking water. Though they use to provide it whenever asked but it was little inconvenient to every time go and ask for it. All in all we loved our stay at Hotel Victoria.

Lovely old Victorian building with a lot of character. Overlooking the lake and only a few minutes walk from Paradiso railway station. Great views.

Noise and smoke. Noise from night club and bar below went on until middle of the night on Saturday. Traffic noise also very noticeable. Cigar and cigarette smoke permeated the walls and corridors, drifted in from the neighbouring balcony and was noticeable when first walking into reception.

The best thing about this hotel is the view. this hotel must have one of the best views in the whole of lugano I give it five stars for the view only.

I booked a business twin room but on checking in was giving a double room.I spoke to reception who said they did not have a twin room and said it was not the hotels fault.I showed my booking confirmation which showed the twin room booking.I was then told the cleaner would put an extra bed in a room but this would be the next day which I had no choice but to accept.

The air conditioning was turned off as of September 1st. Fortunately, the weather was mild during our stay, so we were comfortable with the windows open—and there were no mosquitoes Just to consider that there was no minibar in the room, which seem to match the description provided

The staff was wonderful! The lovely young lady who checked us in and out was extremely helpful, friendly and patient. The breakfast has a good variety and plenty to eat. The view of the lake from the room is beautiful. The bathroom has all the conveniences. The location was ideal for those traveling by train - access to all the local sites.
