The breakfast was truly exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, always ready to assist with a smile, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Both the room and bathroom were spotless, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness throughout. The furnishings were of a very high quality, adding a touch of luxury to the stay, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming, creating a comfortable and inviting environment.

The temperature in the room was too high, and unfortunately, the air conditioning was not functional. I was informed that this was due to the season, as only heating was available. As a result, I had to sleep with the windows open to cool the room down

I couldn’t have asked for a better location. The staff were very hospitable & professional. Truly 5 stars for both the location & all the staff I came across with.

Modern day solutions & innovations needed. It is not acceptable that in 2023 a 5 star hotel in Lugano has a very bad internet connection in the room. I have no doubt that the management knows very well what improvements are needed.

Very family friendly and children are well catered for. Facilities are spotlessly clean and the staff were all very friendly and extremely attentive. Lots of choice for breakfast. Absolutely beautiful location with stunning views from the room. Real luxury feel.

We had a garden view room for our first night which actually overlooked a building site which isn’t the hotels fault however we weren’t pre warned about this upon booking. It was very loud first thing in the morning and the air conditioning wasn’t great so we had to sleep with the window open. Once we’d upgraded to a different room everything was perfect however.

Stunning hotel! We had a fantastic stay and the best hotel service ever. We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and were surprised with a very nice treat in our room kindly prepared by the hotel management and staff. Bed was very comfortable, amazing view of lake Lugano, room was squeaky clean. Delicious breakfast and super friendly, polite and very well trained staff. The front desk staff was fabulous and made us feel very welcomed. Ilaria linked provided us with the best restaurant recommendations. Beautiful spa with super attentive and kind service.

Buongiorno Lugano First of all the staff are welcoming, gentle , helpful very professional the manager of the hotel should be proud of his team staff . Excellent location, the hotel is an a wonderful palace . The view of the marvelous lake and mountains from my room is wonderful . The room very nicely decorated , the bed so comfortable. Excellent restaurants , the breakfast as well there was a big variety with nice staff as well . my stay in hotel Royal splendid was fabulous . I highly recommend it . Grazie mille 💐

In the bath room was bath tub not walk shower which I really need and more convenient for me in my age. I hope that soon in some rooms the bath rooms will be doted in a walk shower to be able to choose the room according to this important choice for me .

Brilliant spa which felt very luxurious. Lovely decor and big clean room and bathroom. Helpful staff who were there to help us with anything we needed. Perfect location close to the centre and right on the lake.

It was very warm in the room overnight, we rang reception and they said it was a centralised heating system so couldn’t be turned down, so the only way to cool down our room was to open the french window to the balcony, and it was quite a busy road along the lakefront outside and construction work made it quite noisy. It was also more expensive than other lakes we stayed at (Como, Maggiore, Garda) but I think that is normal for Switzerland.

Very nice hotel. Our room was comfortable, we had a wonderful cushy bed and a great view of the lake and mountains. The room service was excellent. I have to mention the stunning flower arrangements in the lobby.

The food we had in the lobby/bar was terrible. We ate there twice and both times it was awful. What we have experienced over the years is that 5 star hotels don't really serve good food. It's all geared to have the food look good, taste is another matter.

The hotel is old and some parts could use a new interior design, still in the olden style but a fresh up.

I went to Lugano to visit some friends who live there. The room was nice and comfortable and had a classically European romantic ambiance. It was on Floor 1 and it did not have a terrace or balcony. The windows looked into the back of the building and the spa corridor. That said, it was very close to the spa complex in Floor 1 and that was a nice advantage. The breakfast was generous and abundant, and the service was very cordial and courteous throughout my stay. On Friday night a friend joined me for dinner and drinks, and the waiter was very accommodating in cleaning a porch area at the front of the hotel to have a drink. The hotel also helped me male reservations for dinner on Saturday night, and gave me a wake-up call on Monday morning. The location is exceptional.

I loved the classical interior. The receptionist was extra nice and helpful. The room and balcony were spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The classical interior of the room made my stay more special. The pool is a bit different but I like it. The outdoor restaurant was absolutely delicious! I ordered spaghetti bolognese (it was not on the menu btw) the waiter was kind enough to ask the chef if he could make it for me.

Once I entered the pool area and sat on my bed, I kept waiting for someone to take my order but no one came until I had to get up and order from the bar. I’m fine with that, but when I stay in a 5 star hotel I expect the best.
