We had an outstanding stay at the hotel. Our room met our expectations. Our suite had a lake and mountain view and it was beautiful. The hotel staff were excellent and very polite. We want to mention the very helpful tips we got about the area from hotel staff Jario and Antonella and help in making dinner reservations locally and the funicular mountain train, this helped us have a great stay in Lugano and the hotel. The location was excellent in my opinion. A very close walk to the lake and very nearby are 2 supermarkets. There is a bus stop right next to the front entrance of the hotel for the #2 bus that can take you to and from the main train station of Lugano. We would love to return and stay here again in the future. Included a photo of a view of the lake from our room (about 5:00 am in the morning).

The facilities are well kept, the room was cosy and neat. Antique furniture in the halls and corridors was a nice addition. The swimming pool was better than expected, spatious and deep enough, with a good water purification system. The location is excellent, close to the ferry station and funiculaire, restaurants and supermarkets. The balcony view was incredible overlooking the hills and the whole city.

The breakfast was ok, and the restaurant location is really nice, with a possibility to sit in the garden. However, the food selection variety was very basic. The hotel (and Lugano in general) is very car oriented: the pedestrian entrance and exit is not intuitive and the highway just outside is a bit annoying and quite dangerous to cross.

This was such a beautiful cosy hotel - like something from another century where cars were rare and everyone wore hats. Everywhere you looked there were beautiful pictures and vases and antique lamps. Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and kind and we even got tips on where to go and which restaurants to visit! The breakfast buffet was ample, varied and delicious and the restaurant in the evening served excellent pizza and other dishes. There was also a charming bar where we were treated like VIPs. Even though the weekend was a bit cold and wet - the hotel more than made up for any disappointment about the weather. We were quite glad to go back to this lovely place and relax. We will definitely stay in this hotel again!

Peaceful hotel, clean and spacious room, location not bad (nice area not far from center but must take bus or taxi to get there.) Good breakfast.

Aside from Anderson who was very helpful, the rest of the staff, though polite, acted rather passively. No proactive advice or tips and not particularly accurate answers about directions or destinations. Also hotel feels rather tired and in need of facelift and refurbishment. Bathroom supply could be upgraded: they still use cube soap and there is no hesitation conditioner.

We have the best room nice balcony view with alps mountains and lake. We enjoy so much the free mini bar & unlimited delicious breakfast.All staff we encounter are very professional and nice.They provided daily housekeeping and its very clean .The bus stop is in front or back at the hotel going to Lugano Train Station. 5 mins walk to the lake. Wifi is okay, everyday they replenish the mini bar and toiletries . Room temperature has aircondistioning .

The bathtub hasn’t handle to get out its kind of dangerous for slippery but doesn’t bother us much but hopefully they will provide 1 day.

Room was very comfortable, bed supportive. Marble updated bathroom was easy to use. Nice magnifying mirror. Linens replaced daily. Refrigerator good sized, and we were accorded free water and soft drinks. Balcony had wide view, and comfortable seating pads. TV placement and size fine. Pool good for actual swimming, but no shallow end, which didn’t bother me. Breakfast selection was amazing, and had choices for vegans and hearty eaters of all kinds. Might help to have designated smoking tables. Fast service at bar. Front desk staff extremely helpful and genuinely friendly. No question I and my family of 12, ages 18-87, would stay here again.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and good location close to the lake. Excellent breakfast options and I really liked that the hotel has outside pool. They also provide you with the pass for public transport within Ticino which is super cool, saves a lot of money and gives opportunity to travel e.g. to Bellinzona or Locarno. The mini bar was complementary, which is also super huge advantage.

Everything was fine, the only problem was that the hotel was not able to deliver one twin room for which we asked in advance and they provided double room instead.

The air condition was not open yet in the suite due to the acceptable weather, but to me it was hot climate in the night. Although I was offered a choice to changed the room to a regular room with air con but I preferred to keep the suite

Very helpful and friendly front desk staff. Special thanks to the two wonderful ladies that helped us with a special issue. They went above and beyond! We also had a couple minor maintenence issues that were quickly fixed after we mentioned them. It is an elegant older hotel that has a nice Italian restaurant attached to the building.

Overall, we liked the hotel a lot. Although the beds and pillows weren't terrible, we liked the beds and pillows at the other hotels used during our two week stay in Switzerland better. The location is a short walk to the lake edge and a nice funicular for views, but it isn't an easy walk to the train station with luggage. There are no stores or shops nearby and it is not near the central Lugano old town.
