Just down the street from the train station a bit, the hotel is reasonable for the always overpriced Switzerland. Good (significantly up-charged) breakfast. Given the geography of the city, the hotel's location is particularly convenient, as while the front faces the street where the train station is located, the back entrance leads to the lakeshore (though walking back up requires you be pretty healthy! You may want to take the funicular instead.) Staff was welcoming and helpful.

Not the hotel's fault, but it was pouring, and so I needed to take a taxi there and back. Six or so blocks cost twenty francs each way. True highway robbery unfortunately characteristic of Switzerland.

Lugano is expensive and not overly endowed with hotels so it was a pleasure to find this welcoming and reasonably priced hotel, not too far from town centre. We booked room with balcony which was lovely, side view of lake as described and south-facing. Station is walkable on arrival as is downhill - you get a travel pass in the price and the bus was very useful to and from town and back to the station. Staff very friendly and amusing.

Had dinner first night and was too salty - even allowing for the local palate I think too much.

Located 300 metres from the lake at the southern end of Lugano, convenient if you like walking. Good buffet breakfast. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is one bus stop away from the train station. Airconditioning was needed and was effective. Good value.

The bar does serve a variety of drinks but is very quiet. Not the best views.

Good location 5 minutes walk from the lakeside…downhill. Balcony with glimpse of lake to side. Good breakfast. Quiet once the celebration of Switzerland beating Italy in the Euros died down!

The duvets are very thin and a bit small. Restaurant was very hot, windows didn’t open and no air conditioning. I’d hate to dine here in August. Food not great and expensive.

Clean, good location, good value for Lugano. Public parking garage across the street which is free 19-07h.

Parking isn't guaranteed, someone can take your spot even after you paid for it, if you go somewhere with the car. Breakfast could have a bit more options. Also the double bed is basically 2 single beds put together, so you are kind of falling in the middle.

Staff was extremely nice. The location is great to go to the city center walking. All ok.

Only downside: from the description one would think that only the hotel parking is paying (-1 floor) and not the few places in front of the door / on the street. On the contrary both spaces are 15 euros per night. It's a fair price, but it would have been better to be aware from the start. Maybe a modification in the description would be good to avoid surprise.

Hotel is better then we have expected. It is solid 3-star hotel, with very pleasant staff and excellent hospitality. Room was adequate, nothing fancy, but very clean with very good bed and new sheets. Bathroom was also clean. We had a room with a lake view and quite large balcony. It is 5 minutes (on foot) from the lake and beginning of pedestrian area. You get free bus tickets, so you can use the bus to get back. This is a great plus and it is a very nice touch from the hotel. We were in hotel for 2 days, so breakfast was more then good enough. Food quality was excellent and selection was expected for hotel of that size. All on all very good experience.

Bathroom was smaller, but expected in 3-star hotel.

They were super nice to allow us an early check in since the room was ready. There was a lift to help with luggage. Room felt spacious, bed was comfortable, AC worked so well especially since it was so hot during our stay. Conveniently located right by a bus stop so you could easily reach the center of town or the train station. Otherwise a short walk.

Very simple, but lovely place! Everything was clean, the staff was just lovely, felt like staying at relatives some two decades ago; breakfast felt homey and the terrace was nice. Liked that could open my window for a fresh air.

Could be a bit cheaper, but Switzerland overall is expensive, so I guess the price was decent.

The breakfast could be improved by adding some hot dishes, like scrambled eggs, sausages, or similar options. Also, there were noisy neighbors, so I couldn’t sleep well one night
