We have stayed at many hotels throughout Europe, and the Continental Parkhotel was one of our favorites. It has a beautiful, quiet elegance to it, the rooms and views are lovely, quite a large bathroom & shower for Europe, which we loved! Spacious room & fantastic views. The free breakfast was extensive & delicious and the breakfast room was lovely, all glass with views of the lake and property. And the property itself is worth a stroll, plus don’t miss the evenings (or happy hours!) in the hotel bar/lounge (quite lovely) or the fantastic hotel restaurant. The food was amazing. I can’t say enough about the the hotel, but truly the staff shined the brightest down to each & every one we came into contact with, from Immanuela & Roberta at the Fri t desk that assisted with special requests, to the two bartenders, breakfast room & restaurant staff, housekeeping, everyone is so welcoming. I cannot wait to return & would highly recommend!!!!

Exceptional hotel - great location and amazing staff. Rooms were of a very high standard (we had a lake view room). Happy hour was always well attended - but could always find a seat and relax with a cocktail (or two). The pool area was extremely well maintained. Breakfast - again great choice and definitely value for money. The staff were all so very welcoming - always ready to talk and help with any questions. We drove from the UK and once parked we made use of the free Ticino ticket that gave free travel on local trains and buses. We did venture into Milan for the day - this we had to pay for, but was well worth it. The train station is very close - but there was no noise during the night and even when sat on the balcony during the day after a while I didn’t really notice them. If you are planning on staying in Lugano then this family run hotel is definitely the place to stay !

The best hotel I have stayed at in years!! Staff exceptionally friendly, helpful and informative. Room well-appointed and very comfortable, with excellent air-con, comfy beds and w-fi. Balcony with fantastic views over the town and lake. Excellent pool which was just the right temperature. Separate but nearby children's play area for families. Great breakfasts and lovely restaurant for evening dining - the outside area surrounded by tall palm trees was lovely. Nice bar. The hotel has its own vineyard on site and its own distillery too. Lovely shaded gardens surround the hotel. Just 5 minutes level walk from the station.

Very nice ambiance in common areas, pool, etc. The rooms are as in the pictures. Strong shower, AC worked perfectly (I was doubtful given other comments here), and plenty of options in the breakfast. The pool area and bar are also nice: drinks came with free snacks, which was a nice detail. We also got contacted by email in advance as to get free city pass to use public transport, which was quite convenient (including the funicular that takes you to the city center in what?.. 5/10 minutes.

Wifi didn’t work sometimes. Didn’t try further and just switched to mobile data. Maybe worth to know for some.

Fantastic staff, good breakfast range, restaurant serving delicious evening meals, happy hour half price drinks, view of the lake, lovely fin de siècle building, modern well equiped, spacious rooms, excellent location with free funicular to the town and proximity to station. The grounds are spacious and beautifully looked after and there is a large swimming pool.

Unreliable wifi with no obvious explanation. First floor room had buildings in front obscuring some of the lake. Ask for third floor if booking lake room. The hotel is literally next door to railway lines and heavy goods trains are very noisy and run during the night causing interrupted sleep. Perhaps upper floors would be less affected or even the garden rooms.

The hotel is absolutely exeptional. Clean, very well managed and up to date on furnishing. The swimming pool is as clean as can be. The pool staff keeps you well aware on upcoming happy hour at the bar :) The hotel garden is wonderful. Palm trees everywhere, quiet park tables for a private piknik. The restaurant behind the hotel is absolutelly great. Plenty of parking. Very short walk to the train station where you can also take the funiculore down to the town. Only good things to say about the breakfast.

The plugs in the room are these small hexagonal type so your big round plugs wont fit, get a an adapter even for euro to euro. If you stay in a lake view room you will get some noise from the trains. Rooms are very well sound proofed but if this is something that bothers you, get a garden view. Other than those two things this hotel is a pure gem.

The room was comfortable, the bed was good, everything was tidy and clean, staff were friendly, beautiful view over the lake (although not unobstructed). Beautiful back garden and nice pool.

There is a train track right close to the hotel with lots and lots of traffic, including long and loud cargo trains. There is no getting away from the noise that causes. You'll have to sleep with windows closed and air-conditioning on, which doesn't make for a healthy, fresh environment. The restaurant is very expensive, which makes for an out-of-balance price/quality level.

- No proper blackout curtains just light see through net curtains so ppl can see you in your bedroom during day & nightime - Felt a bit exposed to neighbours with no curtains - Being sensitive to the light it would have helped to have some kinda curtains on top of the net curtains - The cooked breakfast range could be better, hot food was disappointing

When we arrived at the hotel we were upgraded to an absolutely fantastic room with a lake view. The facilities at this hotel exceeded sour expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Happy hour in the bar at the end of a busy day was very enjoyable as local wine was served at a very reasonable price. We ate in the restaurant and it was fantastic. We would highly recommend you try it for yourself. The walk to the restaurant through the palm trees was perfect for pictures it was beautiful. This hotel is very close to the railway station but please dont let that put you off as we couldn’t hear any noise. In fact if you arrive by train as we did it’s a bonus!

Breakfast was great - food choices were all my favorites including some very tasty scrambled eggs. Nice balance of choices and great dining room setting. The pool setting and our room were great - loved our view and mini balcony. I hope I get to visit again soon!

We were a little befuddled on how to reach the hotel from the nearby train station. A helpful taxi driver came to our aid with a verbal explanation. Perhaps the hotel might lnclude some guidance to planned guests. The morning breakfast team could be quicker making sure guests received morning coffee.
