Lovely staff at the front desk and information on the desk really helped me make the most of the day and a half I was there. Luckily found out there was the Long Lake Festival on so I really enjoyed the concerts I saw, as well as exploring the art gallery, promenade and mountain funiculars and walks. Lugano blew me away in fact, and this hotel was perfectly located for everything to offer in the city. A very buzzing restaurant downstairs and their sister pizzeria was very good (discounted for guests)

Nothing really, I was really satisfied.

The hotel is beautiful and the room is very nice, there is good storage space, cabinets, a table, a safe, but there is no stand for making coffee. Everything is designed and special in bright colors and quality materials, The bedroom is dim - even with full lighting and creates a calm atmosphere. In the bathroom, the bathtub is stunning, big and beautiful. The room overlooks the beautiful central square. The staff was very nice, and tried to help quickly with our request

The shower designed with only one glass door that does not prevent water from splashing out, Above the toilet, the air suction works non-stop, The lighting in the room was faulty and was fixed at our request The towel warmer was also arranged at our request. The entrance to the hotel is on the first floor, so to get to the reception you have to go up the stairs with your luggage or drag yourself between the restaurant's guests to the elevator in the heart of the restaurant.

Location is great! Right smack in the Centre of the City, if that’s suits you. The Staff were fabulous, helpful and friendly. We had a Junior Suite which was spacious with a great Bathroom. The Restaurant of the Hotel is great with some unusual Dishes and Menu. The Cantinone Restaurant near by, which is part of the Hotel is rustic and being a Hotel Guest, will give a 10% discount Voucher during you stay.

The A/C in the Room is efficient but quite noisy! Ear Plugs are provided I guess for that reason! 😂

The room is really nice, 4 star quality, I liked how it was decorated and all the furnishings and wardrobe were top quality. Beautiful stone bathroom. AC worked well. Location perfectly central near the station. Great atmosphere with the restaurant and market below. They put plenty of water bottles in the room daily. Also nice view from the rooftop bar/restaurant. My second time staying here and I will be back!

Not sure the fridge was cold enough to store food, but still nice to have for water and drinks! I left my luggage there on the last day and it was left at reception but there was often nobody at reception, so anyone could have taken it, would have been better in a locked room. I wished there had been a place to sit outside the room - a lounge area with sofas or tables outside the room (other than the chairs at reception), you needed to order something to eat or drink in order to sit at the restaurant.

The hotel is very well situated in the very center of Lugano, restaurants, bars, shops and the lake side are only a few steps away. It is a very modern(ized) hotel, with nice big rooms (junior suite with 35m2) and modern fittings in the bathroom and general modern infrastructure (which sometimes swiss hotels in this region lack). It features a roof terace (officially closed for this time of the year, but you could still access it) and a nice restaurant/bar on the top floor. I stayed 5 nights and slept very well, despite the weekend's activities around the hotel. There is no lake view of course, but that comes with the central location quite next to the base station of the funiculare connecting the train station. Don't bring a car, I have not seen any available parking ;-) Breakfast is at its own floor and very comfy in the morning, with a medium sized buffet and the possibility to order a variety of hot breakfasts. At first one might notice the food smell in the hotel, which is due to the open restaurant at the base floor, but it's not strong and one does not notice anymore after a few minutes. The hotel also features its own high quality restaurant (according to its history, the restaurant features the hotel) which serves excellent, abeit pricey food for lunch and diner.

Personal thing: I like to spend breakfast in a quite, comfy place, taking my time. On monday due to only a few guests staying, breakfast was served in the restaurant, by ordering. It was ok, I understand why they did it, but the restaurant was busy, coldish due the coming and going of regular customers and the waitress busy serving everyone. So neither comfy nor relaxing, cutting my breakfast time short. PS: I explained this when checking out, they appologized strongly and gave me little thank-you present as an apopolgy, so we were all good :-)

Central location. Very friendly staff. Comfortable room and very clean. Breakfast was a bit expensive as I chose not to eat the "cooked" options. The products served are of good quality I would stay there again..

I think it could be mentioned when you enter there is a flight of stairs which takes you to reception on the first floor. This was not a problem for me but could be for others. There is a lift on the ground floor but you need to walk through the Gabbani shop. It's easy enough but I was not aware if this prior to staying.

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, big bathroom, comfy bed and seemed to be a reasonable price when compared with other hotels in the main square.

Window faced a wall inside the hotel??? So there was no window outside. It just felt very claustrophobic to not have an outdoor facing window (especially when you don’t have a balcony either) but luckily only stayed one night and we were out of the hotel most of the day / night exploring. Wouldn’t affect us staying here again

The location is right at the base of free funicular so.was amazing getting off train and on doorstep. We landed right in centre of old town. Been in Gabbani family for 100 years and hotel included amazing bakery, fruit, gourmet meat and cheese shop, cafes and restaurants. Wonderful boutique feel. Staff were exceptional. Supplied us with a kettle and coffee mugs on request and we got a daily jug of milk from bar. Room was small but bathroom very roomy so made up for it. We had a broken chair in our room and they replaced it immediately. We had to keep curtains closed at all times as these re were 2 other rooms where guests walking down stairs could look straight into our room which was a bit disconcerting.

We arrived late and it wasn't clear there was a funicular, but would have looked for it if the checking in notes had emphasised it. Would have been a 30 metre carry not .5 kilometre skate down the hill!

Very modern, well-maintained room in an (ostensibly) old building right in the heart of Lugano. Excellent (if expensive) restaurant downstairs.

The room felt a little cramped. It wasn't particularly small but the only window faced onto an internal lightwell so it felt a little claustrophobic.
