It’s a lovely period building and conveniently located near the train station and the centre of town and only 14 minutes (and 16 CHF!…) from Geneva. The higher floor rooms with a lake view have a fabulous view with sunshine over the lake in the morning.

It’s a bit worn and need a bit of Swiss management and TLC, with several easily fixable things like lamps, broken, cracks not fixed, holes and broken corners, dented doors etc not patched or fixed, nothing that can’t be done in a few minutes if paid attention to. Also some recently refurbished things like the bathroom have been completed mysterious stupidity, like for example how the showers have been fitted in the bathtub such that it cant possibly be used conveniently. Again, nothing that can’t be fixed in a matter of minutes if just paid attention to.

We booked two rooms, one was super big - the other was more of a single person room. Very happy with the big room! Breakfast was nice. Parking lot next to the hotel (not free, but with free parking at some particular times)

There was a person vaping inside the restaurant when I had a glass of juice while waiting for my safe in the room to be fixed. Very unusual and normally not allowed...

Extremely well located just a few minutes walk to the railway station town centre. Very helpful staff and good breakfast. I'm very sensitive to bed mattresses but this one was excellent! With the exception of the bathroom the room was comfortable with a view to the lake mountains. If you want a kettle or electricity adapter ask at reception. If driving there is a very large public car park directly opposite. We didn't use that.

The hotel is very traditional in its decor and furnishings. That's not a problem but the shower system / screen on the bath was clearly an add-on and not the easiest to use without water going everywhere. No non-slip mat or surface in the bath either.

Location was excellent - close to train and to shopping; room was comfortable; staff were very good; meals excellent and not overly expensive

There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I would recommend that anyone from North America booking a room might want to pay for one of the larger rooms.

The guys at the reception were very helpful and provided all the information needed; also the hotel provides a card for free public transport in the Nyon region

Maybe the quality of the wifi in some places of the building was not that great, however it worked quite well

We stayed only one night to catch an early train and flight. Surely cheaper than Geneva Airports and at 2 minutes from the train station which was just perfect. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is perfect with lots of choices.

I cannot comment on the breakfasts served in the hotel’s restaurant as I don’t eat breakfast. I did have dinner in the hotel restaurant three times and enjoyed very much the food and the good service. The waiting staff was professional and attentive. I also liked the crisp, white linens on the tables.

Staff were were all very professional, friendly and efficient. Room and facilities were always very clean and well serviced. Good range of well serviced choices for breakfast. Location perfect for Nyon.

Nice, clean place with nice staff. The hotel is a little old and it will be loud - windows are pretty outdated. However, the ceilings are high, the rooms are decent sizes and the location is very nice.

The Hotel des Alpes is set in the perfect location for a visit to Nyon, or even nearby Geneva. It is five minutes walk from the train station, with a fast service to Geneva of about 15 Minutes, and onward to Lausanne. The hotel has wonderful views od Lake Geneva and across the Lake to the French Alps and their lakeside resorts.lt is easy to walk down to the lakefront from the hotel and board a steamer across the Lake or simply to promenade along the beautiful waterfront and enjoy the many cafes and restaurants. Nyon is a busy shopping centre, with many sporting activities, swimming pools, tennis and nearby golf at Prangins. It has many historic sites to visit, including the Roman Amphitheatre and Roman forum, with a fantastic museum, as well as many art boutiques and exhibitions. Young and old will all have plenty of attractions for a holiday

It is hard to find anything to criticize about the hotel, as staff are so an ious to please, and the amenities and attractions of Nyon are within such close reach.
