I booked this very last minute and when I arrived late (930pm) I was greeted by a super friendly guy who opened the garage for me to park my motorbike and, even though the kitchen was closed, they made me a toasted sandwich with salad, which was brought up to my room. All the staff were very attentive and friendly and made me feel very welcome. They spoke good English (luckily for me!). The room was big, well equipped with plenty of storage and a desk and chair. All clean and tidy too. Located 5 minutes from the bottom of the Grimsel Pass it makes for an ideal stay for any motorcyclist. Also, as I left before breakfast on my last day, they made me a packed lunch to take with me instead.

Nothing, I would happily stay here again.

The staff is absolutely fantastic. The lady at the reception could not have been any more helpful and nicer, always sporting a refreshing smile. The boys at the restaurant very nice as well. The garage is perfect for your motorcycle or bike. The room is spacious and very well appointed. The bathroom too, but it is smaller in size and sometimes I tended to bump into things. The breakfast was excellent as well. The fact that is has an elevator going from -1 to 3 is good if you have heavy luggage. The scenery is breathtaking! Perfect spot to stay if doing the 5 swiss passes (but so is Andermatt at the other end of the Furka pass. Would I stay there again, or reccomend it? Absolutely!

Rooms need a refresh clean but dated. We felt it was a little too pricey but as i said before the staff really made up for this.

I booked a room at the last minute when the snow finally arrived. It was my first visit to the Sporthotel, but not my last for sure. The location is great for cross country skiing, directly adjacent to the trails in Oberwald. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly, helpful and energetic. For dinner, I was pleasantly surprised by the evening fixed price menus. Delicious 3-course meals expertly prepared at a reasonable price. Lovely. On the day of my departure I had a good ski in the morning and then took advantage of the convenient changing room and shower in the basement.

Dining area and terrace bright and sunny. Particularly warm and friendly sfaff. Restaurant served very good food and great draught beer at very reasonable prices!

We had a room in the top floor under the roof. I repeatedly hit my head on wooden joists while moving around the room. This could however be my fault for being 1m 90 tall! We‘d ask for a room on 2nd floor next time.

Very clean, friendly host, great buffet breakfast, quiet neighborhood, located on bottom of Grimselpass, comfortable bed, parking in front, has everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend. Budget friendly compared to other hotels in area.

Very warm welcome upon entry. Staff allowed me to park my motorcycle in the garage which was appreciated. Food in the restaurant was delicious with huge portions! Very good value for money! The room was very clean and comfortable.

The location is close to the bus stop and train station. The staffs are very kind and accomodating.

There is no complimentry like water on the room, no coffee machine or ketle just like the other hotels

Just book it. Best food. Best people. Real family run sort of place. Put my bike in the garage. Probably the most hospitable in the 15 or so we booked this trip.

There's nothing to complain about.

Great to have a sauna and a few bits of exercise equipment, really welcome. Free, except you have to pay an additional 5 CHF for the towel to use the sauna. Room nice. Breakfast fine.
