We feel warmly when we think back on our stay at Evergrin. It exceeded our expectations, which were high after reading the reviews. It's a slice of heaven on earth. In a lush valley, along a fast-flowing river, the house and wagens are colorfully and cleverly decorated. There's so much to see and discover, every single day. We stayed for five nights. Hostess Isa is the sweetest. She's a unique person, someone who makes you feel at home immediately and who you miss when you leave. We chose the location to visit Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, among other places. We did, but thanks to Isa's tips, we discovered some lesser-known gems. There's more to tell, but go there yourself and be surprised.

This place was amazing! Slightly quirky, in a super-cool hippie sort of way, with art and knick-knacks and mis-matched stuff all over. The owners matched the place - super-cool, super-friendly, super-interesting people who really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They had everything we needed there, and helped us find anything we didn't see offhand. And the location ... oh, wow, the LOCATION! Evergrin is in a green valley, surrounded by gorgeous mountains, with a field and river on-site and simply amazing views in all directions - and after the sun goes down, the view of the stars is incredible. They have an outdoor lounge, several fire pits that you're free to use on your own or with them, a trampoline for the kids, a wood-fired hot-tub, etc. I'm already looking forward to the next time we stay with them.

There was nothing that bothered us there, but some might be put off by the narrow bridge leading to the property, or the communal (and non-locking) bathrooms. There was still plenty of privacy, and basic courtesy handles the lack of locks, though.

Isabelle was a very lovely and welcoming host. There was a lot of social space. Kitchen facilities were great and an amazing waterfall shower! Views were stunning especially for stargazing! The cat Nala was extremely cute!The location was great for us, central to Gridelwald, Interlaken and Giessbach falls. Would definitely stay again! :)

The only thing we didn't like was that there was no lock on the toilet door/curtain (however that may be due to cultural differences!)

The Location is amazing if you are looking for a quiet place, some minutes away from the touristic centres. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The place really felt like home within short time.

For the free of spirit. This is not your "normal" location which we enjoyed very much. It looks like a Swiss farmhouse and has a lot of atmosphere. We slept in a cabin in the field. The beds were perfect. Unfortunately it was not a clear night so we could not stargaze. Lots of space and the hostess had an "everything is possible" attitude. Very warm welcome by the hostess. Nature and culture are important here. Made a personal connection which I like. She had lots of tips about the area. Will comeback when I visit the area.

Nothing to improve, best as it is. We were only there for 2 nights and we, unfortunately, missed a festival.

Isa was so welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed, nothing was too much. I slept the best I have for a very long time. The cabin was cosy and had a glampimg feel too it.

Nothing….just the weather

Please make sure what you really book before you book Evergrin. The concept could be nice as the place is located in nature, far away from city and people. Anyhow, our experience was not pleasant and had to leave immediately. (This review is firstly confirmed by Booking.com customer service after consultation with them in order to avoid any issue) The host has many cats. (It was not really mentioned thou). If you have cat allergy, you better avoid. (12 cats or more. Some are stray cats). Most cats are still quite young, so that they go everywhere and love playing with mouse. We know cats give you dead mouse when they make you happy. Cats played with dead mouses right next to us. We found some dead mouse in the kitchen and bathroom, which made us very very not comfortable. Imagine the destroyed mouse by cats next to kitchen. The host said they didn't have mouse issue since 2017; however, we were unlucky... Hope it won't happen again for other guests. There are three camping cars outside. I recommend avoiding the small one, because it smells really no good. I assumed either it was not used for long or the window never opened for a while. The two others were rather okay. The host said they clean twice a week, which means if you are not lucky, your room could be bit less cleaned than you expected. This place is somewhere nowhere in nature. Hence, there is no key to any rooms. The host suggested to keep your valuable stuffs in your cars if needed. Anyhow, it is just safe place but if you are sensitive to this matter, please bring your own lockers or whatsoever. The hosts are responsive when they want, otherwise, they are a bit slow. I believe if you book this kind of place, you probably expect different kinds of trips, instead of having normal hotels nearby and easy communication with the property. If you wanna sleep in the nature, I recommend.
