Hotel Appenberg is located in a number of historic buildings. It is located in the middle of the fields, a few kilometers from the town of Zaziwil. The rooms are very comfortable and a good breakfast is served, although few options are available, eg. no warm dishes or fried eggs are served.

No negative comments.

Breakfast was fine. Could eat outside in the lovely weather. I am a tall guy (191cm), so I had to duck under most doors. Apart from that very charming place, with cow bells ringing in the background :-) Like I imagine Schweitzerland

We removed the duvet from the bed linin... and just slept in the linin. It was way to hot otherwise. No room ventilation, but since it was quiet outside we could just open a window for the night. Room was a little bit dark for my taste, but we where not there to stay inside, so minuscule problem.

The location was lovely and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was outstanding with an amazing selection of local cheeses and meats. We had stunning view from our balcony. For staying in Switzerland, I thought the prices were right.

We were staying in a cabin without much parking. Perhaps not a problem for a couple, but with a baby it was not convenient.

We came back for the second time because my boyfriend is in love with the Appenberger cheese that the hotel serves for breakfast (along with other 7 or 8 different types of cheese). It's a comfortable hotel for hiking in the region.

Coffee quality can be improved if you are used to a proper Italian espresso, but not a big deal.
