The upper room in this 630 year old building was amazing. All the old timbers were exposed, and beautiful. Comfortable bed, hot shower, all good. The check-in didn't go as advertised, but a call got us in with no trouble. The common room is nice for sitting, has a app-driven vending machine, and pay coffee machine. But no refrigerator or microwave, which we really like to have as we hike the via Berna.

Check-in could be improved to match instructions provided. Add microwave and refrigerator to common room.

I like the self-check-in, quiet, clean and comfortable

It's a two buildings attached, one building with Koncept hotel and the other building was Gasthaus Lowen. The Koncept building did not have any instructions for check-in. I've never thought to look in the Gasthaus Lowen for check-in instructions. It was dark in the eveing and it was difficult to find the reception counter for check-in.

The rooms are excellent and clean. Good location and value for money.

The check in that needs to be done on a tablet took some 10-15 min. Our booking was for two rooms, as we are with children, and the system allocated us rooms on different floors in different parts of the hotel. It would be good to have an option to choose the room location when administering check in for more than one room.

Once you got use to the check in, it was great for a late night check in. Nice big shower, parking out front, very quiet, good for a stop over.

I'd never checked in this way. The door was locked before 10pm, so needed to download an app to figure out how to get in. I found it a little confusing at first, didn't think to put my phone to the actual lock on the door...that could have been a little clearer. There are flights of stairs, just be mindful of that with luggage.

It's a self-check-in hotel so no staff. The room is comfy and clean but does not have any tea or coffee-making facilities. I highly recommend a visit to Pizzeria da Carlos, a short walk and one of the best meals I had on my trip.

Adding tea, coffee and a bottle of water to the room would make it so much better.

Check in online was really easy and the hotel room was clean and up to expectations. Location is great, we were with a car but you can find everything you need close by.

Our room was in front of the balconies of the building next to hotel so you had to close the courtains in order to not be seen.

Bed was very comfortable,the style of the hotel was beautiful. View from the window was good. 1 minute walk to very good restaraunt. And 10-15 min walk to coop gas station. Very nice self check in. And professional hairdryer!

One TV did not work. And for light sleepers the bells from church can disturb as they ring every hour and every 15 minutes. Personally for me it was not an issue,if you close the windows you cant hear them.

Clean, comfortable and tidy room. Equipped with everything needed.

The hotel looks like it has two names (Loie and Lowen) so we were a bit confused with the parking spots. We ended up parking on the side, in the underground spaces reserved to “hotel lowen”.

Room was clean, beds comfortable, no traffic noise. Perfect for our needs.

The tablet for checkin didnt function. The phone number given to call was answered by a friendly man but it still took me two phone calls to get a key that worked on my room door. I realize that contactless checkin can have glitches, but it was clear that the tablet hadnt worked for a while (according to restaurant worker) and hadnt been fixed. As an old person that meant multiple trips up a spiral staircase - which is definitely not my favorite. Please fix your tablet.

Convenient and comfortable hotel to visit Bern and the surrounding area. The rooms were clean and cozy and I really valued the option to park.

The beds were rather too soft for my back, but this may be a personal preference.
