Room size was great for 3 persons - 1 Queen and 1 single. Location convenient, short walk from Taipei Arena station.

Would be good to have electrical sockets on both sides of the queen bed.

Water pressure is excellent in the shower. The sound proofing is great!! I only ever heard the upstairs neighbor with heavy foot falls on occasion. I never heard the family with toddlers next to us. We were on the 8th floor so there was no street traffic, plus we were situated off the main street, so that helped too. I like that the windows are openable for some fresh air. Pro tip: use the frame ledge around the window area to hang laundry that needs to dry. There's a retractable laundry line by the tub but it doesn't get good air circulation in the bathroom. Beds are firm but comfortable. I like the different lighting options in the room.

Fluctuating water temperature in the shower, which scalded my kids and myself a few times. I wish they also provided instant coffee packs for people who didn't want to wait for the machine to steep. And provided instant milk tea options. The fridge is also questionable if it's even on: barely cooler than room temperature. I wish there were more dim light options in the bathroom for night visits.

The rooms were clean, updated, and provided enough space for four people. We reserved the family room with balcony, and it roomy enough for us and our luggage. The dining table with four chairs also gave us a space to chat and relax after a long day of exploring. The beds were firm, which we liked. The staff is great and very helpful. I had a booking snafu, and they were very helpful. We didn't include breakfast in our reservation, but we had the option of selecting breakfast on the days we wanted to have a leisurely start to the day. The breakfast buffet was $550 NT per person, and it included a wide variety of Taiwanese and western breakfast options. The breakfast was pretty good. The location was also great, and it was helpful to have access to a great gym, a 7-11, a mall, and a restaurant connected to the hotel or just across the way. The use of the spa on the fifth floor was also fantastic!

I wish there was a hotel cafe that opened earlier as the nearby Starbucks at the mall didn't open until 11am. This is a minor complaint as I could have walked a few blocks for coffee. I also wish their business center was better designed.

We got a room with a king (not the usual queen) and twin bed on the 10th floor. Our room over look the street and arena. Room and bathroom were spacious and very well lit with lots of in-ceiling and night lights. The bed is on the firmer side but the pillows are soft. There's plenty of outlets for electronics. It was quiet on our floor. Free Internet worked great. Love that there's 2 water dispensers on each floor and 2 glass carafe in each room along with a hot water kettle. I also like that they have actual glasses and not the plastic or paper cups. There's a dining room table but no desk. The little refrigerator and A/C works quietly. Plenty of water pressure and hot water. There's a switch for Do Not Disturb and Room Cleaning. If you leave the Do Not Disturb on, they leave a note saying your room was not cleaned and called you later in the afternoon to see if you want your room clean. Concierge was able to help my wife order some items we wanted. My daughter loves that there's a 7-11 attached to the hotel. The public bus stop is a 2 minutes walk while MRT is an 8 minutes walk. Check in and out was quick. Never had to wait too long for an elevator. Appreciated that when checking out, the front desk person folded my receipt and put it in an envelope and instead of handing it to me over the counter, walked around to an opening and handed it to me in both hands with a slight bow. It's a large hotel that appears to hold a lot of functions.

To nitpick there's very little drawer space and no in room ironing board/iron.

The room was big and comfortable for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 young kids). The kids loved the breakfast buffet. The laundry room was a huge help when traveling with children, and we used it a couple of times. We lost a beloved toy there— we reached out to the hotel by email, and they responded very quickly, kept it for us, and offered to send it to us. Since we returned to the city at the end of our trip, we were able to pick it up. So, five stars for the lovely staff crew.

The hotel pool was a bit disappointing—very old and not very accommodating. Also, I'm not sure if the hotel can do anything about it, but we stayed on a low floor (5th, right above the pool) and couldn’t enjoy the balcony because of a strong cigarette smell from downstairs. However, I would say we will definitely come back again; the staff, location, and overall vibe were great.

We stayed at Illume twice during our visit to Taiwan. It is a wonderful hotel. It is conveniently located close to two MRT stations. Our room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious and spotless, with high quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The view from our room was pleasant, and we appreciated the water jugs and water dispensers. The self-serve laundry was very convenient. We had the breakfast buffet twice, which had a great range of Asian and Western cuisines. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient to have a 7-11 just behind the building, and we found many great cafes and places to eat nearby.

The room is spacious and well maintained. The housekeeping service was quick, and the room cleanliness was well-maintained. Coin laundry and water machine (cold and hot water) is really convenient for us. There is convenient store and restaurant within the building which is a plus for us. There are malls and very nice Taiwanese restaurants around the hotel.

The 5th floor which we stayed is used for banquet and events so it makes that area kind of busy. the kid's cars (with additional charges) at 7th floor need major upgrade - the cars were too slow and the kids didnt really enjoy that much.

We booked a triple room and was upgraded to a bigger quadruple room since all the triple rooms were not available when we checked in. All the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The soundproofing of the room was excellent despite the balcony overlooking the road. The dining table in the room was great for us to unwind over coffee and snacks. A small entrance on the ground floor offers direct access to a 7-11 and Breeze mall is just next to the hotel. The famous Chia Te bakery is one metro stop away. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Location was in between 2 metro stations, not too close but still a manageable walk in good weather. Traffic can be a little heavy around the hotel during peak hours. Breakfast fare was standard, average in quality. Best to head out and explore Taipei food scene.

I stayed here last October (2023) and was very happy with the hotel, room and service. I made the choice to stay here again in March (2024) The room was in good repair, clean and comfortable. The location was great, a number of good restaurants to choose from nearby and the metro is only a short walk away next to the Taipei Arena. There is a good selection for breakfast, from cooked western breakfast, cereal, pastries and Taiwanese style breakfast. The concierge staff were exceptional, advising how long it would take in a taxi for the time of day, arranging a taxi (especially with a request of card payment only) and knowing exactly which taxi was yours when several taxi's were arranged for a similar time.

Somehow the breakfast that was added to the room did not get through to the terminal at the restaurant (every day), so I had to sign a receipt for breakfast each day. Although it initially appeared as a double charge, staff corrected the issue (on my bill) with no fuss.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and room was much larger than expected which provided more than enough room for all 3 of us to sleep, relax and eat comfortably, Linens were spotlessly clean and comfortable and extra luggage rack in room was a big help. We all really loved the multiple water dispensers on each floor and refillable glass jugs in the room, having hot, warm and cold water almost on demand was such a nice touch.

Lobby layout was a bit confusing and awkward and the combination of hotel's air freshener and buffet restaurant food was powerful when walking in and out, but this did not affect the upper floors or our room. Beds were a bit hard and only a single very soft pillow is offered per guest which left us middle aged parents a little uncomfortable each night. Shower was clean, but could use a deep clean of grout and water pressure wasn't the best, but none of these would be dealbreakers
