O’Pann the manager is a pure bliss- very professional host, cool as a cucumber. He is very concerned about my meals that he’ll stiff every dish and ensure it’s of good quality. Not complaining but he might be slightly too clingy- murmurs outside my room until I let him crawl in my bed. And insists me to rub his belly. Other human staffs are very nice too. Great room and experience in overall!

We absolutely loved staying at this place! The attention to detail was remarkable and truly enhanced our experience. Every element felt thoughtfully curated, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. The decorations, records, and high-quality materials used throughout the property effortlessly immersed us in the beauty and culture of Taiwan. The big bathtub was my favorite feature—it had a raw, natural aesthetic that was incredibly inviting. The location was perfect—close to Dihua Street yet nestled in a quiet corner. It was also well-connected to the rest of the city, making it easy to explore. Additionally, the contact with the staff was excellent. They were attentive, friendly, and made our stay even more enjoyable. Meeting the real host, Cat Opan, was a great honor! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

The only minor downside was the lack of a window in our room. As travelers dealing with potential jet lag, it was occasionally disorienting to wake up without a sense of the time of day.

The location was absolutely perfect, there’s many things to do around and it’s walking distance from the mrt ! The place is cozy and very clean. Amanda at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart, she gave us great advice on things to do and helped us out with restaurant reservations. It really felt like staying with a friend :)

The only thing for us was that the room, albeit very nice and spacious, did not have a window. It wasn’t obvious from the photos and the description did not mention it.

love the location and the resident cat!! it's our second time staying across a few years apart, and the level of cleanliness in the common toilets and shower has been acceptable. i also really appreciate the ventilation/dehumidifier fan in the common shower they provide, but it really depends on the guests to take the initiative to turn it on. we also enjoyed discovering new-to-us music via the records in our room.

i really wish there were proper hanging hooks or rails for towels and clothes in the common shower room.

Opan was the best host, assisted by the best hooman staff Yujin. The bedroom was cozy with a unique vibe, and the bathroom and shower were exceptionally clean. The different scent chosen for different spaces were pleasant and relaxing. Location was great for exploring the area on feet.

We wished Opan could stay with us longer (he seemed to feel obligated to check on every guest). Sound from the street was inevitable but the provided ear plugs did the job, so sleeping was not a problem at all.

Loved our room decor! Very comfortable, clean, spacious, good price, and the cat! We are cat lovers and the resident cat OPang was the best kitty. So friendly and even came into our room to cuddle and play with us when we invited him in! The cat was the highlight of our stay. The staff were very kind, thoughtful, and respectful. Shoutout to the young Japanese male staff (I forgot his name) for making it a very comfortable and homelike stay for us!

We stayed for five nights, and felt almost like we were living there by the end of the trip. The location is great – you have one of Taipei’s most interesting neighbourhoods on your doorstep, and can enjoy it before/after the day trippers have gone home. The property itself has a lot of character and has been nicely fitted out. Loved having a record player in the room, and getting occasional visits from the house cat. Speaking of the cat: it has the run of the property and is the only member of “staff” who’s on site during the night. Guests can get a discount on coffee at the cafe on the ground floor, though it doesn’t open until 11am so you’ll have to go elsewhere for breakfast (try the congee restaurant opposite the market).

This isn’t a quiet place to stay (the complementary earplugs came in very helpful). We loved the cat, but if you have an allergy, I’d choose somewhere else.

Easy access from Beimen MRT, exit 3, straight road down to Dihua area (right beside a huge Jo Malone store). Room was super comfy, vinyl record player and records available, letting you wind down with a touch of nostalgia. Bathroom, though shared, was kept meticulously clean by the friendly staff ladies. Opan the house cat made the whole experience even more splendid - super friendly adorable feline boy.

We stayed here for a total of 4 nights in Taipei. It was wonderful - we love the location, right next to Dihua Street, and very close to Beimen MRT Station. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the shower facilities were spacious and clean. Also, Oppan the Cat is so friendly and adorable. We also appreciated the small touches, such as the record player in our room, and record collection.

The location is perfect to get immersed into one of the more historic quarters of Taipei. Dihua street is 3 minutes by foot, Ningxia night market is about 5-10 minutes by foot. Ximending can be reached in 10 minutes by foot. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the space itself is very clean and beautifully decorated. 24/7 stores are closeby, so if you need something to drink at night, it is also no problem. Also the area is very well connected to the bus system, so getting around is no prolem at all. I especially recommend just walking north from the hotel until you reach the confucius temple (~45 min.) to get a perfect view of iconic Taipei.
