From the first sight I didn’t like it and wanted to change the hotel but I glad I stayed. That’s a Perfect place. Nice, calm, peaceful. The owner is always helpful and polite. I felt myself like home☺️ the room is perfect, love it, a lot of space. All the excursions I booked with the owner - everything was amazing. I will come back for sure😍

Breakfast is a disaster- you can choose only 1 dish from the menu, so if you like to eat probably is better to buy some more food😂

This is a small hotel with only 6-10 rooms on bungalow style facing the beach. Rooms have a fan and Aircon which works well. The family room is a very good size and simple but tastefully decorations. The shower water pressure is fantastic and the water is piping hot. The managed and his wife were very friendly and helpful providing extra facilities when requested. Adjacent to a long stretch of empty beach albeit with a lot of seaweed on it so the water is not crystal clear but very warm. The whole place has a very relaxed chilled vibe....

The WiFi was a little bit weak but this is in a remote part of the island so to be expected. As is normal on the island there's a 5% surcharge to use a credit card for payment so not really a criticism just a fact.

This cozy beachside resort offers a peaceful, serene escape with exceptional service. The owner, Loay, is incredibly hospitable and always available on WhatsApp to attend to any needs including your meal order, excursion plans etc. (I have yet to see this service at another resort). Rufina, the friendly and attentive waitress, made every meal enjoyable. Unlike other resorts, this one has fewer hawkers, allowing for a more relaxed experience. It’s the perfect spot for relaxation, with a personal touch that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended!

We spent an entire week at this wonderful hotel in Zanzibar and couldn’t have been happier. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed and completely at ease. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and you could tell that a lot of care goes into maintaining the property. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, always available for a chat or to assist with anything we needed. The food at the restaurant – including breakfast – was excellent, fresh and full of flavor. We enjoyed every meal we had! The pool area is beautiful, and the view of the ocean is simply stunning – perfect for relaxing and soaking in the island vibes. Although we had a rental car, we know that the hotel can also help arrange taxis or tours, which makes it super convenient for anyone not driving. There are also a few options for watersports and activities nearby, which is great if you’re looking for a bit of adventure. We truly felt very comfortable and well taken care of throughout our entire stay. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Zanzibar, and we would absolutely return again in the future. Highly recommended!

Location is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing spot, the hotel is small with few rooms. The restaurant is very good not only for breakfast but also for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is good and abundant. Staff at the reception and restaurant are very friendly and helpful.

The activities (like excursions and blue safari) are overpriced and even though we called out the importance of having an English speaking guide, the person who accompanied us didn’t understand our questions and therefore couldn’t tell us nothing about what we were seeing. The person who organises these activities has in numerous occasions been rude asking for (undeserved) tips.

I have never felt better cared for at a hotel / resort, than I did at AVO. We were greeted on arrival by the owner, and offered fresh juice on arrival while they took our bags to our room. They met our every need during our stay with alacrity and grace. The system of communication, using WhatsApp to reach out for help, was inspired. And the included breakfast was extensive, and delicious. We were delighted to be staying on the east coast of the island instead of the more touristy / populated north beaches.

Plan ahead so that you are not already very hungry before you arrive at the restaurant. They make everything to order, and it takes time for that.

Such a charming little family run hotel where everyone gets very personalised service. The manager greets every new arrival personally and they give you a WhatsApp number where they send you important information and you can ask any questions. They always respond within minutes. The hotel has a great restaurant but if you stay longer and want to try other options there are some along the beach or up on the main road within a walking distance. The hotel has a lovely outdoor gym and SUP boards that you can use. If you want to be serious with your training they can make a workout plan for you and you can train with a personal trainer (he’s tough though, you’ve been warned 😅). The training sessions were the highlight of my stay. The hotel also has a tour organiser from whom you can book tours and transfers directly. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday and for winding down. Thank you Moe, Barbara, Andrea and the rest of the lovely staff (including cats and dogs) for making our stay special! I would definitely stay there again.

Everything was perfect! The host always made sure we had everything we needed and gave tips of where to go. The hotel is located in a quieter area so we could relax without too many tourists. The restaurants food was amazing and the price was reasonable. The staff cleaned and made different figurines on the bed every day so that felt special. There are also some local restaurants nearby so you also get to see some local community. The hotel also offers guided tours if you wanna see Stone Town or different beaches but we had our own car so did most of the exploring on our own. The pool was also nice and we used it daily. But if you want to swim in the ocean, the staff also cleans the beaches so it’s not too much trash. Just be careful of sea urchins and shells. In short, we would definitely come back to this place and would recommend to everyone!

It didn’t make our stay less enjoyable but would be nice to put a small fridge and a closet for clothes. We ordered drinks and food at the restaurant so fridge wasn’t so needed but the closet could come in handy if you stay there for longer period of time.

- Location -right on the beach, in a nice quiet/relaxing part of zanzibar - Staff and management team were all brilliant - Names I recall are; Luai, Mo, Rofina, but all were great, including room cleaning/servicing staff, security guards, pool cleaner, bar/restaurant staff - All main areas (Restaurant, room etc) were maintained well and kept very clean - The management team were very kind and accommodating towards me for booking an extra night stay and for the checkout time...thank you!

- Price of food in restaurant seemed high compared to one or two local restaurants along beach, but I didn't go to many other places. So it might be same prices (or less) than other hotels. - While I didnt end up going on any side trips, the excursion/tour prices seemed high (eg over $100 for snorkelling), but I didn't ask any other providers for comparison, so again, not sure if this is the norm in zanzibar.

One of the best hotels in Zanzibar Uroa. Highly recommended for short or long stays. The Staff are best in the area Andrea helping you with tours/ practicals & Suma in the restaurant with a bright smile always. The food is perfect with the most affordable prices, and quality in the area. The owner cares a lot about the guests helping in any way possible to offer best experience for the guests. We were offered cold ginger orange drinks coming to the hotel, and the check in and check out was fast and smooth. You can get Taxi service by contacting the Hotel in advance. You have access to one of the beatiful beaches in Zanzibar with sea view and marvelous sunrise+sunsets. Its possible to take walk along the long beach of Uroa. Breakfast and coffee in the morning with Indian Ocean view LOVE IT🤎 Can't wait going back here and going on Tuna Fishing trip as offered by the Hotel. Enjoy the sun, and nature! Max&Agnes
