Loved everything about this hotel. The location, the building on the outside, The interior of the hotel and room was amazing, giving Arabic vibe.. The staff at the reception, restaurant as well. as house keeping.and the manager were all extremely polite friendly. The breakfast was nice with good choice of fruits as well. The view of the harbor while having breakfat was lovely too. The room.wa spacious, lovely small balcony. Huge comfy bed with mosquito nets. AC worked perfectly so did shower. I loved the traditional tile shower. Unfortunatel, I only wish I cld of stayed there another night. It was honestly the best stay. Literally I loved EVERYTHING there!!! Asante!!

Where to begin… My friend and I arrived at the hotel very early, just before 6a.m., well ahead of the usual check-in time. Despite this, the staff welcomed us warmly and guided us to a comfortable area to rest while our room was being prepared. Within about an hour, we were settled into a spotless and cozy twin room with a beautiful garden view. I asked the front desk if they could help arrange something special for my friend’s birthday, and they surprised us with a complimentary cake. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and we were truly grateful. A special mention goes to Mr. Omar, who manages food and beverage. He went above and beyond—helping us arrange a wonderful excursion to Prison Island and Nakupenda, as well as organizing our airport transfer. His professionalism and dedication stood out and made our stay even more memorable. Overall, this is a place I will always remember—not just for its unique architecture, but also for the exceptional service and genuinely kind staff. Thank you for everything! P.S. If you happen to visit the pool around 6 a.m., don’t miss the magical experience of birds singing in harmony—it’s absolutely breathtaking.

The Staff was very friendly, and very helpful. The food was good we was disappointed we could not get any Pork Products like Bacon, Ribs, or Pork Chops even though we went over to Das es Salaam, and was able to get Pork Products. The atmosphere at the hotel was very good. We was able to relax and enjoy our stay.

The menu for Breakfast, and in the Restaurant could of been a little more extensive offering a more selective menu. The hotel seemed to appear a little more modern in the advertisements than it actually was.

Fantastic location! Would highly recommend this Mizingani for your arrival night.I arrived with the 9am KQ flight and went straight to the hotel, they received me and kept my bags as I went to sight see.They fast tracked my check in noon. The reception team throughout was warm and kind,I still miss the sweets 🍬.Special mention to Nabil and Vishay (sp),thanking for going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Thank you to the manager as well. Breakfast was a beautiful set up and the Restaurant Manager Mr.Omar ensured we had a bit of every little treat.The breakfast view 😍😍😍😍I can't even begin to write about it. The beauty of this boutique is that it is the most convenient hotel for travellers at a good value,solo travellers should put it on their top list as well.Very safe. The stairs! Haha I have weak problematic knees and therefore was hoping for a lift.Regardless I loved loved my room.

Really nice location on the waterfront. Room was very spacious and shower one of the best we had during our 3 week trip in Africa. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Staff were helpful, though it was a little chaotic and disorganised when we first arrived.

We asked for a couple of things for the room whilst we were there and they didn't arrive. We also asked for a twin room at booking and were advised after that there would be an extra charge, which we agreed to. However, when we got to our room there was only a king bed. We were not charged for the extra bed, that didnt exist, at least. So beware if wanting a twin room

Everything! The layout, the views, the pool, the staff, the plants, the antique furniture, the history! The food was also amazing! We looooved the seafood platter and seafood pasta. A+!!! The hotel also allows you to use facilities even after check out. 😍

There was 1 hiccup. We called room service & the staff member who answered barely spoke/understood English. We got frustrated and just told him to cancel (and he wasn't sure what that meant either at first), and we went down to the restaurant instead. Quick tip for management: assign someone who fully understands English for room service. Guests with allergies could die if the wrong food item is delivered to them. ☠️

Perfect Location for staying in Stonetown! Sundownview at the Restaurant, soiäuvenir shops directly in Front of the Hotel, perfect organisation (a Taxi was arranged for us) and it was perfect that we could still use ALL facilities during the whole day, even after the check out! Baggage storage was also perfectly arranged and we enjoyed the sundowner-dinner before we left to go to the airport. Besides the good dinner we loved the breakfast buffet with an amazing choice, especially of sweet dishes! Absolutely recommendable!

Mizingani Hotel is situated directly on the Seafront as advertised. It is close to the port, where the ferry comes in from Dar es Salaam and is a short taxi ride from the airport (US10-20). Breakfast is on the verandah overlooking the beach. The sunsets are amazing from the verandah. Staff are wonderful, beds comfortable, pool great - what can I say? Fabulous.

Nothing I didn’t like. Some guests might feel that the fact that it doesn’t look and feel like a standard hotel is a negative, but that’s exactly what I loved about it. You can stay in a 5 star hotel, with soundproof walls and beige amenities anywhere in the world but it loses the exotic feeling of being in the place you presumable have come to experience. I hope the hotel holds the slightly Moroccan feel that is left over from earlier times. I found it unique and beautiful - would stay again in a heartbeat.

The design of the hotel is a delight - twisting staircases - turning hallways-courtyards seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Super fun. Fortunately there are some signs posted here and there to help you get to where you need to go. The service is exceptional. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are professional and helpful. The front office has a safety deposit room for locking and storing your valuables during the trip which came in very handy. Breakfast was large and plentiful. Highly recommended!

Location is perfect for exploring stone town. Amazing history and character to the building. The room was lovely - we slept so well despite the port just outside. Pool area is a little oasis. The breakfast was perfect!

No gym or fitness area. Restaurant and rooftop bar were a little dead - we didn't see anyone there past breakfast. Also worth noting that it's a dry hotel, no alcoholic drinks available (although not uncommon for here ).
